My motorcycle broke down on my way home to Canada. The oil was leaking everywhere. It looked like I might have to leave my Yamaha 250 cc 1981 there. My health insurance was expiring in a few days and I had to get home. Getting a mechanic in Florence was very difficult because they were in their peak tourist season. I was running around everywhere trying to see what I could do. The staff at Sportsman were very knowledgeable. They looked at my bike even though they were busy. I could not get the Yamaha part I needed. However, they send me to someone who might be able to help me. The people who work there know their stuff and are very kind.
Now I just want to find the contact of the person who helped me get home, thank him and let him know I made it back. I do not have his number or his full name. All I know are the directions of where I would meet him. 1 mile heading south on 101 turn right on s Loftus rd and right again on s Lazy Lady ln. If anyone knows who I am talking about please forward me his number to

In our brief stay in Florence, we asked four or five different locals how we might go about arranging a fishing outing for our 12-​year-​old. Dad is terrible at fishing and we wanted some guidance about gear, location, etc. Everyone’s answer was the same, «go ask at The Sportsman.»
When we finally took that advice we learned why there reputation is so solid among the locals. We had thorough, friendly service from the owners, not from a kid trying to do 10 things at once. As it happens, we abandoned the fishing idea in favor of crabbing (which rocked, by the way) and we needed someone to take us from zero to competent. Our friend at The Sportsman walked me through the license, the rented trap, the bait and showed us the best spots on a map.
The grand total for this outfitting, guiding and shopping? Less than $ 20. The rental of the crab ring was a ridiculously low $ 4. Another $ 3.50 for a bag of frozen herring, $ 11 and change for the license and we had the best day of our vacation.
This is a great place that I would trust with much bigger purchases, if I lived nearer.
