Shane’s Rib Shack

Just been there for the first time with my girlfriend. The food was awesome. The girl who took my order was really helpful with the menu. I ordered the shack sampler and she ordered the shack salad. Both entrees were delicious. Definitely will be back soon.

I feel like this is a solid 2.5 star experience. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t particularly good either for expensive fast food ribs. Maybe their other menu items would be better but I assumed that a chain with the word Ribs in their title would have good ribs. I think you’d be better off trying one of the local BBQ places.

The guy that took our order was awesome. The food is great. Bbq sandwich. Our check number is 61. I hope the manager sees this and commend him on his customer service skills. I’ll be back. Several times.

BBQ sauce is very tasty. Chicken leg quarter was very juicy but breast was dry and tough. Sides were very good. I had baked beans and slaw. Comes with Texas toast. My husband had smothered pork sandwich which he said was ok. Something different. Not a lot of choices in Florence sc.

Different experience than other reviewers — all meats on sampler were tasty and moist — great potato salad, Mac and cheese was step up from other fast food joints. My wife picked this place and I didn’t read other reviews until after I ordered and waited to be served which made me wrongly criticize my wife for a bad choice because I wound up being completely satisfied.

I was raving ribs but didn’t want a sit down kind of place. So off to Shane’s I went.
I wasn’t expected too much from «fast food» ribs, but I expected something more. I got the sampler platter with ribs, pulled pork, and chicken tenders dipped in hot buffalo with Mac and cheese and cole slaw.
First the ribs were dry but meaty. What you would expect from a in and out kind of place. Next was the pulled pork… it was a hearty helping but flavorless. Luckily they had squirt bottles of sauce that I got a ramekin full of or that would have disappointed. The chicken tender sauce tasted wrong, like the sauce was turning. I couldn’t eat but one disgusting bite. The cole slaw had today’s date on it. But that must be when it was set to expire because it was going bad as well. The Mac and cheese was nothing to write home about either.
All in all, I don’t recommend this place except for the squirt bottles of sauce.

Well this location had closed down several months ago and I was overjoyed that Florence had eliminated one of its sore thumbs in the culinary world. But just like that toe fungus that just won’t go away despite your best efforts, this place suddenly reappeared (at the same location). Not sure why they closed down and then reopened.
Since the sig-​o has moved to Florence he has been asking to go to places he hasn’t been to eat before. One day we drove by this place and it piqued his curiosity. His curiosity was akin to the blonde vixen in the first five minutes of a horror movie that goes to investigate a mysterious noise outside the window. You can be curious at your own risk, but I can only relay to you my experience here. I stopped by this place one afternoon when I was post call and just about to starve to death. Even sub par food is palatable when you are hungry enough but I still managed to find this place a waste of my body’s gastric juices. I ordered the Tossed Tenders with medium BBQ sauce. The tenders weren’t hot and the sauce tasted like a failed Kraft recipe that was never supposed to make it to market. I had the baked beans and Brunswick stew and both were also sub par. The baked beans recipe here should also be kept a secret like Bush’s Baked Beans but for entirely different reasons. The Brunswick stew was also cringe worthy. If you want some awesome food in the same category as this place then head to North Carolina and try some Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-​B-​Q. I won’t be headed back to this place ever again. With that being said the server was quite friendly and the place seemed pretty clean. I know I dinged them having only tried a chicken dish but they won’t be getting a second chance to impress me.

Came here with a group. I was in the mood for some ribs. I ordered the full slab baby back ribs — that dinner came with two slides. I chose fries and beans. The ribs were huge — I didn’t think baby back ribs were that big. Needless to say, I could barely finish the whole slab. I would have prefered a smaller baby back ribs. The one I had was definitely tougher than the smaller baby back ribs I am used to. The BBQ sauce was good.
Shane’s was good for the experience but I doubt if I would return.
