It seems very obscure place but you will be surprised. It is the best spot for Neapolitan-style pizza if you are crossing South Carolina on I-95. We had Margherita and Margherita+anchovies. They were good. Also ordered meatballs for the kids and was surprised how normal they tasted — no weird wannabe-Italian spices on them. They have also wines(e.g. Italian Sangiovese) and surprising choice of beers.

Rebel Pie is right up the road from my house. It’s located in a strip mall off a main road in town. When you walk in, you are greeted by the owner, Alan & you see him making and baking the pizzas right there. The servers will seat you,(there’s booths & tables available) and they bring out these homemade cheese wafers for you to snack on while you are waiting or the magical brick oven to bake your pie. There’s many different types of pizzas available — traditional red sauce base, olive oil or pesto base & a white sauce base. There’s probably about 20 pies already on the menu, but you can build your own as well. Each month, they have a «pie of the month». This month’s(March 2016) is like an Italian Hoagie. We didn’t get this one, but it looks really good! Tonight, we opted for the Mediterranean(add anchovies) and the Meat Quartet(no cheese, add banana peppers). Since each pie is made when you order, you can pick and choose what you want to add or remove from the pie. I’m lactose intolerant, so I had to remove the cheese from mine, but that’s no problem for Rebel Pie! They aim to please. Service is good — we didn’t run out of beverages the whole time we were there, and the place was close to 75% full when we got there. It’s a great place to come for a date night, or a family night. I’ve also come for a business lunch as well, and service is fast then too. I highly recommend Rebel Pie.

A road-trip stop on our journey home from Florida. Just a few miles off I-95 North, this little gem is well worth the stop. I personally had a pie with red sauce, light cheese and arugala. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the pie was a good size. I also enjoyed part of a slice of chocolate ganache cake for dessert… made in house daily. It was marvelous. The waitress(Theresa, I believe?) was an absolute sweetheart. Very attentive and considerate. Great conversationalist. Very good experience. If I have the chance to return(which is slim given that I live in New England), I will gladly do so.

Well worth going out of your way! Found this place on Unilocal during a drive north from Florida. The red pizzas were excellent. The white pizza with shrimp and sausage was fabulous. The service was fast and friendly. Check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

This is not your mama’s pizza — It’s pizza with a twist and a good beer! They have monthly specials as well as your typical menu items, but don’t be afraid to venture off the beaten path. I’ve been known to take a standard pizza and dress it up with some primo toppings! The DECHEVRE with Proscuitto is my current vibe. The pizzas are large enough for two… or one if you’re not willing to share — there’s no shame in your game. They also have a nice selection of craft beer, including many South Carolina brewery options like Seminar Brewery down the street. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it.

This is the best pizza you can eat in Florence. No frozen preassembled pies here. The quality of the ingredients shows, and from what I understand a good potion of them are locally sourced. The staff are very kind and courteous. I have enjoyed this pizza from the beginning and the quality has not slipped a bit. Give it a try, you’ll be glad you did.

You can’t go wrong with a wood oven, and this pizza is delicious. I got the margarita and my boyfriend got a pizza with red sauce, pepperoni, sweet italian sausage and green olives. We were on our way home to Charleston SC, and this was well worth the detour. Nice selection of beers on tap, too.

Just ate lunch here, what a great find! This is the most authentic Neapolitan style pizza you’ll find for miles around. This is from someone who has had real pizza all over Italy and who grew up in New Haven, a city that really put this style of pizza on the map in America. The wood fired brick oven makes all the difference. All of the ingredients are locally sourced, no added unnatural mess, and they stock local craft brews from around the state. Again, very rare in this area. They round out the experience with a comfortable dining room and warm, friendly service. Real foodies will definitely appreciate this place.

This pizza hits the top on my list. It’s just perfect. It’s light, ingredients actually do feel fresh, just as they boast… Fresh local ingredients! The booth could be more cushiony to offer more comfort, but that will definitely not prevent me from going there again. I liked the ambience as well. What impressed me the most was the quick service… Can’t get any better!

You absolutely cannot beat the pizza here! Such fresh ingredients and interesting combinations! Even our picky 4 year old loves it, and his special bowl of olives they give him. We love the owners and the staff and they treat us like family when we come. So glad we have such a unique place in Florence!

A pizza haven in the food desert that is this portion of I95. Excellent service delivered The Blackened and blue shrimp and meatball appetizer which were spot on. We had a Margherita and a shaved ribeye steak pizza pie. Both excellent with just the right char from the wood oven. Enjoy. P. S. Super clean bathrooms!

My wife and I ate here for lunch. It was an odd time in the afternoon so the place was dead but the food was definitely alive. We ordered the pimento cheese baguettes as an appetizer and for our meal we had the chicken pesto pizza. Both were great, the pimento cheese was fresh and homemade and the baguettes were toasted with nice grill marks on the underside. The wood fired pizza was fantastic and very fresh. Although filling, the pizza wasn’t heavy on the stomach as most pizza tends to be. It’s so nice to see a locally owned restaurant with quality food that sources all their ingredients from local farms and breweries. The price for two people with two drinks and a starter was only 28 dollars, so you really can’t beat it. The staff was also friendly and the chefs loved hearing that we thought the pizza was awesome. We will definitely stop in again and I highly recommended if you like pizza or just good food in general!

Every time I have ordered pizza from here it has been delicious. The staff is friendly and the pizza is ready in about 10 minutes. I like to support local restaurants and I hope Florence will continue to support Rebel Pie. Highly recommend!

We have been here a few times looking for a more«epicureous» meal, if you will. We have been pleased with the pizzas we’ve ordered, but never pleasantly surprised. The pizzas offered are basic, but delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients for the most part, and make each pizza fresh. Our most recent visit we ordered the Mediterranean pizza and were disappointed to say the least. All the toppings we’re sliding off, the crust a little soggy, and my husband who LOVES kalamata olives felt cheated to see the seemingly canned olives that sat atop our pizza like a throne of lies. It’s a great place, good service, nice people, and good food. I just wish we had more options in Florence for food for foodies. CALLINGALLEPICUREANS! WEWANTGOODFOOD!

I’m torn on stars here. I personally devoured my 4 slices of cheese pizza. Fresh ingredients, Char on crust from wood fired oven, homemade sauce– perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. The rest of my party– not so pleased. Sister and Mother thought everything was good, but dislike char on their crust, so this turned them off some. Who knows what my Dad thought. He had the meat pie, ate half but kept talking about«why do people try to reinvent the wheel?» He’s funny about pizza. Pizza is very subjective. So many ways to do it– you have to appreciate it for what it is, not what you want it to be. I’d personally eat a Rebel Pie again. My deduction of stars was more for service. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and left but in between was dicey. Our server was young and sweet. However under 18– this means you cannot serve or remove alcohol from tables. She offered us drinks but the could not bring them or clear the empties. Growing up in this area, I’m used to this, but they were not on top of it here and it made things slow going. The booth was tiny so having empties on the table was a space problem. I finally turned around and put extra plates and glasses on the table of the booth behind us.(yes, I could reach it– tight space!!) My Dad started with a salad, but they failed to bring salt and pepper to the table or asked if he needed it. I also had to ask for more water twice. Again, I enjoyed the pizza– this was just not a well rounded experience for my family.

First meal in about ten days that wasn’t fried or ‘cued, and Rebel Pie delivered. The pizza was moist and the crust perfectly done(I lived in Bologna, Italy for 4 years, so I’m not comparing it to Pizza Hut); ingredients(in my case: prosciutto, arugala, and onions) were nicely portioned and fresh. The salad we started with — a caprese — contained some very tasty tomatoes/basil, though the style was different that one normally expects from a caprese, which threw the wife a bit. Best of all, the owner Barry, a local boy who detoured through Minneapolis prior to opening up his pizza joint back in Florence, makes sure to stop by each table and check in. Barry explained to us his vision of serving true Neopolitan pies that celebrate the delicious local ingredients, including local microbrews. Rebel Pie is a winner in Florence and well worth the drive off the interstate if you’re just passing through.

Great Unilocal find while stepping off the highway on the way to take the kids to see the grandparents in FL. Many fun colas for the kids, they each got a black cherry cream soda. Yum. I love the set up of the brick oven right there when you walk in. The pizza was fantastic and the price was great. Only 4 stars as the table layout is just kind of a big open room, not very fitting for a brick oven place… I’d prefer a little seclusion from the other guests.

I drive through Florence on the way to Myrtle Beach and was so happy our normal place was closed for the July Fourth weekend. We found Rebel Pie on Unilocal and was not disappointed! I got the Margarita Pizza and my husband got the Meat Quarto Pizza. Made with all local ingredients and everything homemade it was wonderful. They bake their pies in a brick pizza oven also which makes them come out hot and bubbling. My hubby got a piece of cheesecake for desert and it was the best he has had in a while. He wouldn’t even let me try it! Bottom line— with everything local, this is definitely one to try!
