Definitely would not recommend. They have such a high prices for such little portion sizes.

The icecream was ok, nothing special. $ 4.85 for one scoop in a waffle cone– way overpriced for ok icecream. Not returning.

Worst salt water taffy ever! Absolutely flavorless. Go somewhere else for your taffy. I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Hurrah for BJ’s. The ice cream is great, but the carmel apples are to die for.

BJ’s Ice Cream Parlor has been a stop on the coast since I was a kid. Now I take my son there. Sometimes we have service from very friendly and attentive people, and sometimes its teenagers who are more worried about socializing than serving ice cream and cutting fudge. Today we went and they were busy, probably given the warm(er) whether at the coast than inland and the woman working was alone but in a good mood, quick, and helpful. The ice cream is always mediocre, but that does not matter to the kids. We will go back, like we always do.

Stopped in after dinner in Old Town. Love my ice cream. Was surprised just how good it was. Luckily I’m in town a while and can make it back for seconds.

A small town snack shop located on the mellow strip in Old Town. They have ice cream, fudge, cannolis, salt water taffy and many more! My friends and I stopped in to grab some salt water taffy. There are many flavors to choose from!

It’s all about the salted caramel sundae flavor here. ALLABOUTIT! The coconut crunch is really good too. The gentle lad at the counter was very nice and let us try oodles of flavors. He gave us recommendations of his favorites and overall was just a very pleasant experience. I’ve had slightly better ice cream before, but this was really pretty good, darn tootin’ good I’d say. Would I go back? I don’t know — is delicious, reasonably priced ice cream something YOU would experience again? I think we know our answer.

Rich and creamy, this handcrafted ice cream is phenomenal. Try the Butterbrickle or Coconut Crunch — or both — they go great together! There is also a plethora of homemade butterfudge including Almond Joy, Kahlua Fudge, and Rocky Road. We didn’t get to sample it but it all looked fantastic. If you’re in Florence, don’t pass up BJ’s!

We have been up to Ashland many times over the years from California and we always make a point of working our plans around their ice cream shop there. I have nver had such smooth, creamy tasty ice cream anywhere and the price is certainly reasonable. My favorite(although I admit it is the only one I have tried due to the fact that it is perfect) is Oregon Trail. Two of my very favorite things in life: Chocolate and Blackberry(althought I noticed others say it is marionberry or huckleberry, so I could be wrong). My husband has tried the Black Walnut and Pistachio and he said they were also the best he has ever tasted. The place is always clean and usually has friendly staff but we have been there on occasion when the gals were grumpy. Anywhere else that would make me vow to never return, but here nothing is keeping me from my Oregon Trail.

Nice selection of flavors but the ice cream itself was nothing special… just not that rich a texture, and the flavor intensity was not impressive. Still, you can’t beat an ice cream that comes with a stroll along the riverside!

My parents had been here before and had an ice cream they were dying for me to try… Oregon Trail… YUMMMMMMY! Chocolate ice cream with huckleberry syrup, and local hazelnuts. I actually had it in a sundae which had whip cream, hot fudge, nuts and a cherry on top. So it was even more yummy. We give it a 3 because the atmosphere wasn’t that great. the service was ho hum. we didn’t even get a smile… If I worked there I would be giddy working around all these goodies!

There may be no place better than to have a relaxing ice cream than BJ’s in Old Town Florence. It’s great after some chowder from Mo’s and it’s right across the street! Inside it has an old soda fountain type feel, which fits in well with the ambiance that Old Town Florence exudes. They sell all types of ice cream, floats, malts, even salt water taffy. They have benches along their deck to lazily eat your dripping ice cream if it’s a hot day outside also. They do have another location someplace else, but I feel that this is the best place to get a feel for Florence(my favorite town on the Oregon coast). The ice cream is pretty good too!

Just picture me having checked in before we even went to dinner to find out how late they were gonna be open. 10 o’clock? Whoohoo! I will eat a sensible dinner and then have ice cream. I’m on vacation — what the hell! I had already read about their ice cream fame in a flyer and was all primed for some amazing ice cream. Some sappy story about generations taking over from generations… as long as it’s good ice cream, I don’t care if you showed up yesterday. Okay, back to my post-dinner visit… now you know I want my ice cream badly when we enter RIGHT after a church van full of tourists who are placing like 400 orders to one poor girl who’s sticking out the Thursday night shift(there were TWO servers when I checked earlier but I guess they thought it was gonna be a slow night so, clearly, they’d let the guy go early — BIG mistake), and I just waited patiently. Even after the NEXT family of tourists cut in front of me and ordered another 5 cones… Patiently, I waited. FINALLY it was my turn, and I ordered a junior half butter brickle and half bittersweet chocolate. Where in the world can you still get butter brickle? Anyway, the first bite was nothing less than amazing. You can tell right away it’s sweet cream ice cream. So creamy! The bittersweet chocolate was also good — not sure what was bittersweet about it except that in moments it would be gone. Seriously, a must-have when you visit the coast. C’mon, splurge a little. You’re on vacation(just don’t cut in front of me if you know what’s good for you).
