Vehicle City Tacos

Outstanding food truck! Great people and GREAT food! Haven’t had a bad meal yet! I love how they can make it mild or super hot, however you like it, they can accommodate! Anytime I see them I make sure I stop and order something! You can’t go wrong! If you haven’t tried them yet, make sure you try them the next time you see the truck out and about!

I’m so happy that we have a phenomenal taco truck that can call downtown Flint home. Both the food and service are pretty much beyond reproach.
Yes, I’m talking about a food truck, but the food is really good. I’m talking really good! Fresh ingredients, ginormous portions and everything is prepared to order with limited waiting time.
At this point, I’ve had the Rooter, Nachos Verde sans meat, regular tortilla chips with salsa, and the Capper. There is nothing I wouldn’t recommend. Another thing I love about VCT is the selection of vegetarian-​friendly items on the menu– namely, the Capper and the Rooter, along with a handful of terrific sides. Plus, those items can be specially hand-​prepared as «vegan» upon request. Now that’s something that keeps me coming back over and over again. On top of that, my special request to leave the meat off of the Nachos Verde was no issue at all.
I love how their tortillas and chips are just oily enough, but not overly greasy, just the way I like them. Thus far, the Rooter is my favorite entrée, loaded with sweet potato fries, black beans, jalapeño avocado sauce and fresh cilantro and packed with flavor. It’s huge and filling and so delicious, though the Nachos Verde (meatless version) is an ever bigger bang for your buck and holds its own when it comes to flavor with its pickled red onions, queso fresco and poblano peppers smothering some of my favorite tortilla chips. Yes, most of the items are a little spicier than expected, but that’s because they’ve been dining at Taco Bell too long. For myself, I rather like the little extra «kick» the food has– it beats that bland assembly line fast food any day.
My husband (and some of our friends) raved about the Oinker and especially the Clucker during a trip downtown to visit VCT after Art Walk last October. Now they’ve all become huge VCT devotees as well. We even got my friend, Jen, who is super picky when it comes to food, to try it and she hasn’t stopped talking about it since.
Admittedly, it’s not super authentic Mexican fare. Nope, rather it’s a Mexican-​fusion style, but it’s so good, who cares? Plus, the prices are unbelievably cheap. The most expensive item on the menu is the Rooter at $ 9 (cheaper without meat) and it feeds two people (sometimes three) easily. Most everything else is $ 3-​$ 4 apiece and the portions are large. I think my husband and I have rarely spent more than $ 9 total together at one time and we weren’t hungry afterward, either.

Love Danny and the crew at VCT! I’m pretty much a VCT groupie at this point. It’s great to see Flint step its food truck game up. The tacos here are BOMB DOT COM! I’m partial to the Mother Clucker, Grazer & Oinker. The fiery nachos are also great when available. More than your average taco, but well worth it. Don’t show up looking for ground beef on a tortilla! It takes a minute to get your food, but that’s because its made to order. Loving VCT & Taco Life!

Every ingredient in The Oinker is something that I would eat in large quantities on its own (well… maybes not solo cilantro, but yea), so to see that someone had the idea to put them all in a double-​shelled taco and sell it out of a truck… yes, I am absolutely 100% all for it. The ratio of toppings to meat is just right (very generous helpings of both), and everything tastes superfresh and perfectly prepared.
The size of each individual taco is quite perfect as well, because it’s satisfying enough for a mildly hungry person. Taco x2 would definitely qualify as a full meal that will leave you stuffed and happy.
Protip: this is one of my favorite spots to hit up at the Farmers Market! Orrrrr late nights in the free flat lot on the corner of Kearsley and Saginaw. Always a nice surprise when I see the big white truck on the way to my car. Perfect midnight snack!

Worth the wait. These guys can’t help that their taco with black beans and sweet potato fries is the stuff that daydreams are made of. They don’t apologize for anarchy embodied in a boldly flavored, deep fried portobello mushroom taco. They know that their tacos are overflowing with copious toppings and that quality food takes time. Do it. Get the tacos.

Amazing food and good local focus. Prices aren’t too terrible and the service is quick. Best of all, it brings something new that Flint didn’t have before.

I tried Vehicle City Tacos for the first time last night while at Art Walk in Flint. I had the Riser. For $ 4 it was wonderful. Packed with lots of flavor. A real treat.

They lost my order. I waited until eight people ahead of me received their food before I got mine.
The guy asked me twice (after I ordered) what I had ordered.
As for the food: The Sriracha French Fries were soggy… real soggy. The taco («The Regular») was nuthin’ speshul but the sausage in it was tasty.
Fair pricing.
I won’t return.
No VCT for ME!

Tacos are really really good– i only have to say that they are a bit on the spicy side for my taste, however all the ingredients were really fresh. I got the mushroom one.

VCT is AMAZING! If you ever see them in downtown Flint, do your self a favor and GET SOME TACOS!

Just had their tacos and OMG are they amazing!!! I am a total foodie and these were a food-​gasm! All the ingredients are fresh, local, and on point. Unique flavors and options for all types of palates. Vegetarian/​Vegan options too! Be sure to get the fries! Can’t rave enough!

Had my first experience with VCT this weekend, heard a lot of good things. And they were all true. Tacos were incredible! The chipotle crema sauce made it for me.
Price seems high, but for the quality and freshness of ingredients you get, it’s worth it.
