First the staff is always friendly and polite. Always clean inside and out. Then there is the food. Nice big selection to satisfy everyone’s taste. The taste is better than most if the other coney islands around. Only place I can take any family or friend and not have a complaint.

They have an okay coney dog and fries and the service is very pleasant, but this is fairly forgettable as far as dining experiences go. I ate here a couple of times when I lived in the area and had a quick lunch here while I was back for Christmas, but it was nothing that outstanding either way. It was just okay. While their coney dog is obviously good, it isn’t like there aren’t a million other places around this area to indulge in your desire for a good coney dog. Come on, aren’t there more coney places between Flint and Detroit than anyone could possibly ever sample? If there’s one thing we have in Michigan, it’s a coney island restaurant. They’re all about the same, middle of the road, none different than the other. The one thing that really stands out here is the personable service and the cleanliness of Olympic. It is always clean and welcoming, so in that respect, I will say it’s a little superior to some of its immediate competitors in the area.

The owner is very friendly and even came out to make a show of our meal. The waiters feel like family and the food is delicious, it doesn’t get much better than this

Wow! It’s rare that a taste remembered so well from your childhood home meets expectations when you return as an adult. Thankfully, Olympic Coney Island is the exception. Their Flint Style Coney dog is deliciously familiar from the«dry» style sauce, to the pop of the casing upon your first bite. Thanks for proving you can come home again.

A nice inviting place to grab lunch or breakfast. Staff are courteous and service is prompt. Food is also great and the restaurant is very clean.

If Coney Islands were large retail stores this would be Target. Dine elsewhere and you’ll be eating at Dollar General.

My wife and I were on the east side of Flint tonight thinking about where to eat. We decided to give this place a try and were glad we did. Her fish was just the way she liked it and she also enjoyed her clam chowder. We both agreed that the fries were perfect. I had a patty melt sandwich which was good but not awesome. The owner was very active running his business, welcoming all guests and engaging them in conversation. Service was prompt and friendly and we will be back.

The food and service was absolutely amazing when this place first opened! Now, it has gone down hill. I’m not a big diner person and I loved that Olympic offered higher quality food than your average diner. The items on the menu were a little more superior than standard diner food, as well. I’ve had a handful of bad experiences now and so we just don’t eat there as much anymore. The French fries are the best, though, and will probably always eat here since we live so close. It’s just kind of hit or miss now. I wish the owner would push for his original standards! Oh! And I wish they offered a more traditional Greek dressing(even if it was bottled). I love Greek salads, but I hate that pink stuff!

Coney’s are made with Koegels so we’ve got a really good start. I had my brother decide which coney we should go to and this was the place he chose. Three of us had one up and my brothers wife had a fantastic looking grilled chicken salad. Service was fantastic.

If you are looking for great homemade food this is the place for you. The menu has something for everyone ! They have great breakfasts with specials 7 days a week. They also have great soups and lunch specials daily. My favorite is the lemon chicken. Soooooo good! They also have great service and the owners are always there. If you want great service with great food and owners that are very involved with their customers this is the place for you!

Great service and the owners are very nice and are highly involved in the operation. They always come by the table to say hello when you are there. They get to personally know all of their patrons. Great, motivated waitstaff. Food overall is good quality but the breakfasts are awesome. I would say best breakfast in the Flint area. Very high quality meat, bacon, sausage, etc. This is our«go to» place where we know we can rely on good food and great service. Lots of regulars and the atmosphere is very friendly. Place is modern and very clean.

I’m not sure about the rest of the menu, but that veggie pita they have is perfect. Not a bad Flint coney either. Service was pretty good and prompt for the 4 of us, and the owner even came over to ask us how things were. It’s nice to see ownership involved and caring about their business, and the results show that they do.

Last time I was in this place was about 7 years ago when I lived in the area. BOY! What a CHANGE from those dingy, run-down days! The whole place has been very tastefully remodeled from ceiling to lighting to booths and tables to flooring. Very comfortable atmosphere! SUPERCLEAN, SPARKLING and TIDY! And the menu is HUGE! It took us 15 minutes to figure out what we wanted to eat cuz we were just plain overwhelmed with the enormous selection! They offer everything you could imagine for breakfast fare(served anytime), extensive lunch and dinner specials, burgers, wraps, homemade soups, sandwiches, Italian food, bbq ribs and chicken, LOTS of different types of fish-fried/battered/grilled, steaks, light meals, salads of all types, appetizers, desserts, comfort foods like open-faced turkey and roast beef sandwiches, different types of coneys, senior specials, and on and on and ON! There are(2) flat screen tv’s mounted on the wall in opposite corners. They were set at a very low, just right level that didn’t interfere with normal conversation. But it was nice to look up from time to time and check the Tiger’s score! :-) DH had the Monterey chicken with a baked potato and coleslaw on the side. He said it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. He liked the creamy coleslaw, too, said it was very fresh. I had(2) Flint style coneys and fries. With the iced tea it was only $ 6.49! The coneys were so good(Kogels), we ordered two more to go for a late-night snack. The fries were really hot and perfectly cooked-crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Our food was plated in a very appetizing manner. Waitstaff: They were REALLY attentive and I could see how happy they all were. Lots of smiles and very friendly to everyone who came through the door. I could tell many customers were«regulars» and they spent time chatting with them… They seemed genuinely interested. SO nice to see that! They were in perpetual motion tending to the customers, wiping EVERYTHING down, refilling sugar and condiments, preparing silverware, etc. They also seemed to get along really well together and helped each other take care of the patrons. It was as if they had the mindset, «EVERY customer is MY customer.» Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before and it was REALLYREFRESHING. There were only 4 other booths occupied when we first arrived, but the dinner hour was going into full swing and the place went to about ¾ full within the next 25 minutes or so. Then the OWNER came out from the kitchen and went to each and every table. He spoke with all of us! He was genuinely concerned that we were enjoying our food and wanted to «welcome» us. Wow! How often does that happen? He was in and out of the kitchen greeting customers, checking the place for cleanliness, helping the waitstaff(he refilled our iced tea!), talking with patrons, and checking with the waitstaff that everything was going smoothly. I also saw him preparing orders in the kitchen for the drive-thru and setting up plates for the waitresses to deliver to the tables. I would DEFINITELY recommend you check out the«new» Olympic! I think you’ll be REALLY pleased!

Outside: Typical Flint coney island clean and undramatic Inside: The same Food: The same Service: Really great, customers matter!!! Cost: Reasonable This place is typical Flint. A boarder line greasy spoon, and would be if it were not for their standards of cleanliness. The food again is typical coney island. Location to work is the reason this place gets a frequent visit. The choices on the menu can be found just about anywhere. A few stand outs are the Greek salad with the dressing being a star. The fish is really good and nothing seems to be bad. The stand out here is the service. They really do make you feel like they want you in their business. Drinks are always full and the food always the correct temperature. Not sure if this style of place would make it many other places but it works here, and glad that it does. I will go back and if you are in the area it is worth a quick stop for lunch or a snack.

What, nobody’s gonna review Olympic? No rush. This place ain’t goin’ anywhere. My dad used to work on Court and Dort back in the 80’s and we’d come to visit him after work and all pile in the ’84 Pontiac Parisianne wagon and go to Olympic. Classic coney joint in Flint. Right in the middle of the pack for good coneys and burgers. No surprises here.
