The lines are longer in both the café and the front than they used to be, but customer service hasn’t really appeared to suffer much because of it. While still a corporate bookstore, this B & N is friendly and has a nice, laid-​back vibe. Great magazine selection, cute and spacious Starbucks café inside, free WiFi, a nice Nook station, decent customer service, a great children’s section, and tons of comfy seating throughout the store to sit and read a book/​magazine or study.
This particular B & N has an impressive selection of coffee table books devoted to cooking and decorating, as well as a nice mystery section. One thing I’ve noticed lately is the growing selection of vinyl records and the ever-​shrinking choice in CD’s. I like that and hope to see even more vinyl make its way onto the sales floor over time.
One caveat– there’s been a dearth of assistance at the Nook station unless you go out of your way to request it. That’s kind of a bummer. The sales staff is always pleasant and helpful once they are on the scene, but getting someone to show up is the tricky part.

Good magazine titles like Café Racer, Scoot!, Skin and Ink, Shindig. I often pick up one of the many good magazines on WWII and stamp collecting.
They have a nice café. Cannolis are now available.

OK, so i am old and miss the days when there was a lot more variety in local bookstores and when bookstores carried a lot more variety. That being said, I am grateful to B&N for staying the course and satisfying my urges to walk the aisles, read dust jackets and grab a bunch of food mags I look at new recipes over a Cappuccino. Great selection of new books up front with an expanded selection and display near the back after the information desk including staff picks. Decent selection of multiple works from popular authors, and a well stocked variety of business, cooking, and most literary genres. Do yourself a favor and drop the $ 25 bucks on the annual membership; it more than pays for itself with the normal discount, regular additional discount coupons and free shipping for online orders!

This is a great Barnes & Noble. Being a chain store, there are certain expectations as far as quality, cleanliness, and friendliness go, and this store meets all of them! I’m constantly impressed by how friendly of an environment it is. If you live in, or frequent Flint, you know what I’m talking about. Sometimes I just come in to escape the greyness of the city. It’s a nice place to relax in.
There is a café in this location, and it’s very nice and has adequate seating. The chocolate chunk cookies are teh yum!
