Just heard this place was officially condemned by the city. What took so long? It’s been a long time in coming. This complex is the epitome of blight and decay. Pictures don’t do it justice, they really don’t. This apartment building, for years now, has been a constant thorn in the side of its immediate neighbors and the surrounding community of up and coming subdivisions and businesses dotting the adjacent area. It has done nothing but bring down the entire area in its path for longer than I can recall. Who wants to drive past this eyesore while taking their kids to daycare or picking up takeout from Taco Bell? I guess the building was condemned because of a lack of utilities accessible to the units. Wow. Mail service was recently suspended to any remaining tenants as well, per legal guidelines. The trash has been piling up in overflowing dumpsters outside, near the back of the buildings, for well over a year, with no end in sight. Apparently, there are only a handful of tenants left, mostly squatters and a few paying ones. The complex hasn’t had proper utilities, like water, gas and electric, for quite some time. Egads, I don’t want to know what it smells like, but I know it looks like crap from a distance. The ramshackle buildings have crumbling stoops, damaged windows, peeling paint, nonfunctional door locks, mold, and awkwardly leaning awnings and that’s just tip of the iceberg. Yikes! This place is an eyesore. I can’t wait to see it bulldozed. In short, it’s a dump! I wonder if the Hazmat team will need to be alerted?
