Not very clean at all. Had to eat here during an emergency. Once was enough.

I won’t be eating here again. I ordered pancakes. A short stack, I was told, would cost me $ 2 per pancake. When I got my food, I thought they were microwaved they were so dry. Upon further investigation, they were made of corn meal. WHODOESTHAT?

It’s Angelo’s, it’s Coney’s, enough said. Coney’s in Flint are a matter of preference. The city is full of great Coney Island restaurants. Angelo’s is one of the originals food is great and the service is also.

I gave this place one star. But before all the people here rating it a 5 think I just don’t know what I’m talking about, read what I have to write. I grew up eating at this place every Saturday morning with my mom. I have a million fond memories of being a little kid tucked into one of the booths happily eating stacks of pancakes, ham and cheese omelettes, mountains of toast, and washing it all down with chocolate shakes. I remember the happy friendly waitresses, being fascinated by grill in the back, and the 5 cent peppermint patties they sold on top of the counter. This was back in the early 1980’s. In 1999, after being away from Flint for a while, I decided to relive the happy memory one night. I went there at about 11pm and was treated to the sight of prostitute giving a guy a lapdance in one of the booths. I just went back again recently and can see the place has gone even further down the crapper. A shell of its former glory, just like most other things in Flint, Angelo’s is dirty, dingy, and run-down. When I sat down, the waitress pointed to the wall and told me that the menus were there. Basically just a stack of take out flyers on a shelf attached to the wall. The menu proclaimed, «The old owner is BACK!» Well, I’m not sure where the hell he is back from, but it certainly hasn’t made the place any better.

Always stop to get 2 Up, fries and a coke. 5 stars plus. The wife has made a close home version, since I’m 5 hours away, but it’s the atmosphere that can’t b recreated

Very American dive! Atmosphere café/diner style. Good coneys ! Had a special with coney n hamburger with fries. I wanted to order another coney but was full. Husband ordered a grilled Ham & Cheese … OMG such good thick sliced ham and oh so gooey cheese. Flavors are really good! Waitress was a peach too. Next time in town this is a go to place.

Good food in a depressing city. This is classic to the Michigan Coney island format. The Chili Cheese Fries were exactly what you would expect them to be. Prices are dirt cheap. Very friendly waitress. I moved to Flint from sunny CA and this is definitely a go to place. Sure it could use some work, but look at where its at…

Good tasting food. and a horribly depressing city. THEFOOD This is classic to the Michigan Coney island format. The Chili Dog was delicious indeed. The Club sandwich was made with extra thick cut slices of ham and canned turkey. The Chili Cheese Fries were also exactly what you would expect. Prices are dirt cheap. THESERVICE Very friendly. Our waitress and the manager got into a scheduling dispute… and our waitress promptly left for the night. The manager swiftly picked up, and no lack in service was seen. She also comped us for a small error in the order. I am amazed that service is this good in such an impoverished establishment. THEATMOSPHERE This was our first time in Flint — what a horribly depressing place. It is so sad to see a city that was a boom town only 50 years ago, look like a war zone. The diner fully reflected the circumstances of the city. I would guess this place has not changed much since 1949, and even needed renovations are probably not affordable. I would recommend this place not only for the food, but also as a prism to observe the history and present moment in the timeline of Flint and Michigan.

It’s OK, but not as good as Coney Island in Jackson, MI on Michigan Ave. Lots of hype, but in reality it is just a dingy little hole.

This is a Flint Classic, and always reminds me of home. When I am in town, I am coming here, no questions asked. Best coney ever, with everything on it — plus some fries with brown gravy. Does the décor need help? Sure, but the whole damn«township» of Flint needs help. Let’s start by all going here! This is just a nostalgia thing for me, and I learned you can order their coney sauce online. Listen folks, if you were seeking a gift idea for me, you’ve now found it.

Went here on Saturday. The big street sign that has been there FOREVER is gone, but everything is still the same! I ordered a coney(comes on a steamed bun, koegel’s hot dog, mustard, onion and coney sauce) and a hamburger. Yes, their hamburgers are delicious! We(three of us) all had shakes– 2 chocolate and 1 strawberry. This was my husband’s first time there and he would say it was the best shake that he has ever had(he is a self-proclaimed Shake Extraordinaire!) Their fries are good too. Same place and everything tasted just how I remembered it! :)

Seriously, I can’t believe there are only four reviews of Angelo’s! This is an institution. Let’s just settle the Michigan coney war now. Angelo’s is the best. Sorry Detroit, Lafayette and American have terrific Detroit-style coney dogs, but Angelo’s takes all. I highly recommend the two coney combo with fries and a beverage. For $ 7 and some change, it’s a steal! We stopped in for the first time this evening during our commute home from northern Michigan. This meal made our trip that much more memorable. I’m handing out a rare five stars for Angelo’s! My only complaint is that they were completely out of «homemade» pie. Apparently this is the place to buy your pie for the holidays if you live in Flint. Oh well, just another reason to return again soon.
