Heads up, Late December 2014 I’m told this place is closed until further notice, all employees terminated. It’s a shame; terrific cheap spot of spend time with friends, reasonable service, etc.

Horrible. Went there once and will never go back. Went for breakfast…2 adults and 2 children. Restaurant was less than ½ full yet waited 15 mins to be seated. Ordered basic breakfast items off the menu but waited almost an hour for the food. Some of our food was cold… none of it was better than mediocre. On top of that we paid almost $ 60 for 2 omelettes, pancakes and a breakfast sandwich plus coffee and juice.

We come here all the time on the weekends and it’s never really busy but the food takes forever every single time. The food is good and consistent. Management seems to be pretty clueless on how to properly run a restaurant and don’t really know how to train staff correctly.

I have been to this perkins twice, and I will not be returning a third time. The first time that I went, it took an hour for my food to come out, even though there were only 10 people in the restaurant and all I ordered was a turkey burger. I finally had to ask for a box and leave hungry, because I was going to be late for an appointment, and I had my infant daughter with me and she was starting to lose her patience as well. When I asked the host for my check and a box he was very rude. I gave the place a second chance about a month later because I had a gift certificate. I was pleased to see that the rude host was no longer working the front, and this staff was much friendlier and much more attentive this time around. Sadly, the food took 45 min to come out even though there was once again only one or two tables in the restaurant that were occupied. I’m starting to think that there is only one cook in the entire kitchen doing everything by himself, and he doesn’t know what he’s doing. When the food came out finally, it was disgusting. My pancakes were burnt and dry to the point of being inedible, and my omlet was like rubber and tasted funny. Even though I was super hungry, I could only bring myself to eat half of it, and that was after I had doused it with hot sauce to try to add some moisture and cover up the nasty taste. On top of that, my coffee creamer that was sitting on the table by the sugar was spoiled and curdled. It looked like I had put cottage cheese in my coffee. I think I’m beginning to understand why there are never any customers in this place when I go. They desperately need to hire more kitchen staff, and make sure that the people that they hire know how to cook. Whoever was hired to cook in this restaurant is going to be its downfall. There is no reason why it should take 45 minutes to get something that is a very simple food item in a restaurant that only has 5 tables filled. And then once your food is delivered you can’t even eat it because it’s so gross. I have worked in many restaurants before, and we managed to get everybody’s food out in 15 minutes with 200 people in the restaurant, and very few people ever complained of problems with their food. What happens is in this restaurant should never happen.

Took my 2 kids for lunch today. The place was not busy. Our server came to us pretty quickly, and she was nice. The food however took a long time to come out. Remember, the restaurant was not crowded. My daughter’s Mac and cheese was not cooked too well, but it taste well. My biscuit with gravy’s taste was great, but the biscuit was hard. My son’s chicken melt sandwich was good. The kitchen staff clearly needs more training.

Poor service, so so food, great delay in receiving meals. Breakfast is ok. Otherwise, forget it. u

It is exactly what you expect it to be. Breakfast is obviously their strength. Pancakes are good and portions are a nice size. Service varies. It will never be gourmet but it is reliably adequate.

After a failure of a time up the road at Northlandz we opted to see what was open post-Sandy and ran into this Perkins. They were busy since not much in the immediate area was open and overall things were about average for a Perkins. Our server was stressed and busy due to the rush but handled things as well as could be expected. The biggest issue for her and for everyone in general was the lack of menu options since they were out of a lot of things. But when the food finally was ordered it came out without a big delay and everything was better than expected. Overall I can’t complain and if we’re in the area again we’ll be back.

Went for an afternoon breakfast. Food was luke warm at best and coffee was bitter and also not hot. Servers look as if they are not sure whether to be bitter or angry. I guess if you happen to get hungry right when you pass this place or are staying at the hotel nextdoor then you don’t have much of a choice…

It’s a Perkins. What more do you want/expect. Breakfast is good… the rest of the food is hit or miss and majorly miss! We did have an excellent server who did go above and beyond for us to help accommodate a baby, but the rest of the experience is pretty forgettable. Go here, eat breakfast and be happy. Go here and order anything else… well you’re playing russian roulette.
