What a pleasant surprise in cortez. Great salsa and chips. Dinners were awesome. Margaritas were so so

Best gorditas in town. Everything we have tried here is great. It’s a lil hidden gem for sure. Highly recommended.

Real mexican food at a real good price. Real salsa bar is on point. If you are looking for authentic menacing food this is it.

I moved here from San Diego and have been jonesing for some good Mexican food. Las Gorditas is doing things right! Their complementary chips are nice and light w/good flavor and they had some nice salsa options at the salsa bar, jalapeño sauce was solid. The beans and rice are good as well. There were little details that I expect in Mexican food like white cheese, two corn tortillas on the soft tacos, and the tacos were served w/a lime. But what won me over was their adobada, or adovada as they spell it there. It was flavored really well and was nice and tender. I look forward to eating through the rest of the menu, good stuff!

I use to like this place, but my last experience was awful. While eating my enchiladas I found a long black hair underneath them. The Owner comped the meal, but I just can’t stomach going back.

This place was awesome! We got two burritos to go and both were great. I really like the adavada burrito. The owners were very very nice. There is seating for dine in, I think we will have to try that out next time. We will be back!

Honestly previous reviewers??? A 5? Coming from Tucson, I do have high Mexican food standards but there was really nothing about this place that was good… except maybe our 12 year old waiter and the cheap prices. We walked in and immediately felt out of place. There were 3 tables of probably 10 – 20 people and it felt like a large private party. A teen boy came over and awkwardly asked us if we wanted to be seated. While waiting for our food there were probably 10 or so kids running around yelling and playing with no parental control at all. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a beef tamale with beans and rice and was less than happy. The enchilada sauce was flavorless, the rice was sticky and the beans were canned. The friends we ate with didn’t complain too much about their food, but then we were paying, so I don’t think they would have. Won’t be going back here again.

The service was awesome, the staff was very friendly. So many restaurants lack the friendly factor, I was completely amazed. A friendly staff makes for a awesome experience. And as a added bonus the food was outstanding!

The service was attentive and friendly and the food was quite good. This restaurant has mainly a local rather than a tourist clientele. There is a salsa bar offering a choice of dips for the chips. The carnitas were good and the chili [sic] relleno had A good flavor and a nice bite to it. Definitely worth going off of the beaten path to experience.

Delicious! I love this place! The service is fast and friendly, food is killer, and horchata is amazing. But, the atmosphere isn’t the best. Overall, one of the best authentic mexican food places. Carnitas a must!
