I go camping here every year and this is always a 5 star lake and camp ground, but this was an off year. The camp grounds are clean, and have everything you need to tent camp. It’s $ 16 a night to camp and it’s well worth it just to even get out of the heat of the valley. Each camping area has a picnic table, leveled area for your tent, and a fire pit with a grill top if needed. The camp ground host(Vic) is a way cool guy that is doing great job. You can also get fire wood and ice from him if needed and you can always use more ice in your cooler. The views of the lake and the pines are fantastic and it was 25 to 30 degrees cooler then in Phoenix. I love this lake because I have never not caught fish here! Even this year, which was an off year, we still caught fish. Every now and then you can get a nice hold over trout and we have even caught a couple over 4 pounds. This was an off year because the water was super low, and unfortunately for us it was extremely windy. The wind made the fishing nearly impossible. The other bummer this year was there were fire restrictions which meant no campfire for the kids. Even with poor weather/fishing conditions we still had a great time and caught fish. I would tell you to go here and check it out, but part of me likes having it be a quiet place that is not over fished.
