I like to eat a lot and for a place that is called King Buffet you would think they would have more food to offer. However, that being said, what I ate was good.

We have eaten here a few times and we usually end up geeling sick after words, the last time we went there we left the waitress a tip and she took it upon herself to also put a tip on my credit card, that was the last time we ate there when you steal a tip after we gave you one is wrong, plus there food seems to be getting worse as well, and there prices were getting more expensive.

Excellent quality of food and service as usual. Prices are very reasonable. Also, they recently renovated. Will be back!!!

Apparently this place has been renovated fairly recently. The food is still good even on a Tuesday night which we had doubts about. Two people ate for $ 25 a pretty good deal

Awful. Just awful. The place is very unsanitary. It needs a good cleaning. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like if they keep the dining room in such filth. The food is awful and there’s bugs flying around while you’re trying to enjoy dinner. And… Sometimes cooked in the food.

This past weekend we were craving a Chinese buffet where we could stuff our faces, so we decided to give King Buffet a shot. When we pulled into the parking lot the first thought that came to our mind was«Ok, who is getting sick today?» The sketchy looking storefront was only amplified by the discolored sign. When we walked in the restaurant was dingy and outdated, but something still drew us in. The staff was polite and when we made our way to the buffet, we were suprised that there was a ton of food. The buffet was well stocked and everything was tasty. I loaded up on the crab legs, coconut shrimp and garlic shrimp which were all perfectly made. In the end we definetly shouldn’t have judged this book by its cover! The food was great, it was reasonably priced and we didn’t get I’ll which was amazing. This will be one of our go-to restaurants if we are in the Fitchburg area.

I like it. Stay away from fried foods and enjoy the rest. Plenty of choices, good quality, and fast staff. It isn’t fine dining but it is fine to dine here.

Not really impressed. How can food sitting on a steam table still be cold? A couple of standouts were the Korean Chicken, Mei Fun and the Peking Dumplings. Its a clean place they just need to keep the food hot… shouldn’t be too difficult.

Smelly and less than decent. Large variety of things served, but I was actually scared to try many of them. Sushi is my favorite Asian cuisine and it was close to inedible. The only thing that was yummy were the Chinese donuts and the other fried Americanized Chinese options. Nothing worth coming back for.

The food is good, the Asian staff was friendly and polite, they made us feel welcome. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the fried chicken because it tasted kinda old but the rest of the food was good. Hunger is hunger, so whatever. It was good.

I’ve eaten here once and it’s safe to say I’ll NEVER eat here again! Chances are if you love this place you’ve never had really good Chinese before. I ate here with my mom at the beginning of their dinner buffet where it would be safe to assume that food would be it’s freshest… Was I wrong though! The food was greasy and tasted reheated. If I wanted day old Chinese food I would of had it delivered to my house and eaten it for breakfast. Even the fruit tasted dried out, like it had been left out all night! Such a disappointment!

Today I decided to give this place one last try. We were seated and ordered our drinks when I got a whiff of spoiled seafood. I tried to convince the people I was with to get up and leave, but they figured since we already ordered our drinks we might as well give it a try… just avoid the seafood. The fried rice was orange as was the duck sauce which is always a bad sign. The ribs both bone in and boneless were dripping in this gross, sweet red sauce. The crab rangoons tasted like they came out of a box… as did most of the food. This place reminds me of the fast food Chinese places in a mall. Just not good.

I tried giving King Buffet a couple of chances, but they have failed every time. Food tastes a day old and reheated. Their dumplings are full of grease when you bite into it. They never have sushi. It’s more of a california roll that is falling apart. I have done both take out and eat in. I have also done lunch and dinner. Disappointing. The only thing I’ve enjoyed from there is the chow mei fung and I’ve had greater. Their lunch take out wasn’t too expensive so for that I give it two stars.

Some of the food is reheated and at least a day old. The beef didn’t taste like beef. Both the teriyaki beef and broccoli beef were some other type of animal. Disgusting. The only foods that perhaps can be trusted are the deep fried options. I wouldn’t dare to touch the sushi or fruits given the place had no A/C and had everyone breaking a sweat. No alcohol is served and the soft drinks tasted watered down. Definitely avoid at all costs.

I stopped here with my family on the way home from Mt. Monadnock last summer because my dad promised my younger brother that if he made it to the top of the mountain, he could decide what we ate for dinner. Bad move. Mostly all of us got sick from the food here, and our family eats Chinese food a lot and never gets sick from it. The selection is what you would normally expect from a Chinese buffet, I suppose, but the quality was less than any other I’ve experienced.

UGH. My mom loves this place and always tries to drag me here when I’m in town. Every time we go, they’re always out of the staples(beef teriyaki, chicken fingers, boneless spare ribs). So you sit around waiting and waiting until they bring out more. The food isn’t even that good, not even for a chinese buffet. There are plenty of other places to eat on John Fitch, but if you MUST get Chinese, I guess this is your best bet.

Being next to the cinemas, this place can get pretty busy. This buffet offers the basic Chinese dishes(noodles, dumplings, beef & peppers, General Tso chicken, rice, egg rolls, sugar donuts, crab rangoons), soups, salads, fish, «peel your own» whole shrimp(including head), crab legs, mussels, squid salad, sushi, grilled to order meats, and more. For dessert, they offer fruits, jellos, soft serve ice cream, and an assortment of cakes, palmiers, and cookies. Next to the soft serve machine, I can get my own coffee with my dessert. The service here is always good here(refills on my soda and used plates are cleared between buffet trips).

The King… This was the other go-to spot while in college for me and the boys when Daka(student café) just wasn’t going to cut it. All you can eat Chinese food? How can you go wrong?! It became even better when they installed the grill station to the left that offers sushi and a variety of meats and sauces. You pick the meat, you pick the sauce and they grill it up for you and bring it to your table. The waitresses were almost always quick to refill your drinks. Of course there is a buffet of fruits and veggies and whatnot but we typically just dove right into the main courses. You have to go when it is a little busy so the turnover of food is high. Old food left under the heating lamps is not that enjoyable. One thing you HAVE to try is the ‘Chinese donuts.’ I have no idea what they are actually called but they are so damn good. Small light puffs covered in sugar? Oh man, I want some right now. Plus there is a soft-serve machine and other pre-made pastries and desserts you can go hog-wild with. Our man Fro-Child actually got a plate, not a bowl mind you, a plate full of of soft-serve after a huge meal one time. That was a riot to watch as the plate was still hot and the soft-serve kept sliding around as he added more. Hahaha. My parents loved this place too and we went here pretty much every time they visited. I haven’t been in a few years so I can’t say how much better or worse it has become but I would give it the benefit of the doubt. If I ever find myself back in Fitchburg I will be heading to the King.
