Kappy’s Twin City Liquors

I’m a member of a group that puts on Brew Fests, so I run with a crowd that needs a good beer. The last time I went to Kappy’s, they didn’t have a single 12-​pack micro-​brew that was cold. They had cases and cases of Bud, Miller Lite, Coors, Keystone, etc.. . but not a single case of Wachusett, Sam Adams, Longtrail, Redhook, or the like. I ended up leaving with a case of Blue Moon that was better than nothing.
Kappy’s used to have «God Bless It» status with our group (We would always say: «Want anything at Kappy’s? God Bless it.) At our last meeting, we voted that Kappy’s had lost their God Bless It status because of this last incident. I only hope they can gain in back.

You can pretty much find anything here, the place is huge.
Back in the day, this was the place to go to buy cigarettes or beer when you were underage, so I have fond memories.
Seriously though, if you can’t find what you’re looking for here, your next best bet is probably just buying online.

First of all, do not try to gps 1 South Street, because this is the wrong address. It is in the Twin City plaza at 220 Whalen St. Very 70’s strip mall looking from the outside, but inside as well-​stocked as Kappy’s I’ve been to in more «high-​class» areas. Wine tasting on weekends, and I missed an amazing beer tasting by ½ hour. However, I did pick up a free pint glass and keychain, as well as getting on the private email list of the beer manager. Next planned event is an Oktoberfest… sign me up! I never explored the wine here, because the beer selection was so unbelievable. All the new england breweries are represented, as well as a WALL of belgium, abbey, and trappist beers. I actually felt incredibly elated and bought 3 cases to tide me over til my next trip. They had every kind of cider import from Europe, so I got a six pack of each.

As good as it gets in this area! Kappy’s has a phenominal wine selection. They also sell many bottles that are usually only sold in restaurants. The staff is extremely knowledgable and willing to special order wines when they can.
Kappy’s also has a great selection of single malt scotches.

Somebody in this store has been paying attention lately to getting really really really good beer! Awesome for a town where finding a quality consumable product that is not a donut, a forty, or a narcotic, is rather difficult. Every time I go here their selection grows.
Good wine selection too, and full of everything else you need for a liver-​busting good time, whether your taste be forties and MD 20/​20, or Dogfish Head and French wine and anything in between.
