Dippin Donuts

Excellent, melt-​in-​your-​mouth donuts worthy of a quick stop.
Chocolate glazed is top-​half dipped and super cakey and moist. Chocolate-​covered donuts equally fantastic. Decent variety of doghnuts, muffins and other sweets for a small shop. Great alternative to chain ‘nuts.

Consuming coffee on a daily basis leads to an acquired taste of what’s good and what’s meh. Their French vanilla iced coffee tastes better than Dunkins by a mile. The hot coffee tastes like homemade coffee which is a good sign, Dunkins hot coffee quality has plummeted. I wouldn’t call it the best coffee I’ve ever had but it’s the best in Fitchburg/​Leominster area. Their donuts are as awesome as dunkin donuts used to be back when they were big enough to put in the box standing… damn good donuts: D

I tried a plain glazed donut and a black coffee, and noticed a few things in comparison to a few of my old chestnuts. The coffee, in comparison to Dunkin’s was milder, but also lacked the tart sour note that shows up in a Dunkin’s coffee, but it is not actually fair to be too kind. They use New England Coffee, that itself has a mild but pleasant flavor, when brewed properly, but they choose to overmeasure the water, yielding a weak cup of coffee. Now the Donut. Well, it’s better (taller, more completely risen) than the (deflated) Dunkin’s, (don’t get me started on their post 1990’s cake chocolate flour recipe) but for me, there are other old chestnuts there… It isn’t as moist and eggy as a Top Donut, or as sweet and crisp (in a good way) as a Heavn’ly Donut, but even that can be a «mood thing». It is very very light, like cotton candy, so when you’re in that kind of mood, this is the one. I swear it actually melted in my mouth before could chew it.

There are 3 Dippin Donuts locations in the Fitchburg/​Leominster area. The Leominster locations are different from this one Fitchburg Location. this is a very important distinction since the Donuts here are superior to the donuts at the other locations. The Iced coffee is fantastic. The largest is a 32oz, but you will survive.
The draw here is the Donut holes. These are the best donut holes around! We prefer them over the donuts, and donut holes anywhere else. Go in and grab a 20 pack of donut holes, take them home and toss them in the Microwave for a few moments. Warm Donut Holes… Oh my!

If you are not a fan of Starbucks bugspray coffee and can’t quite wrap your tongue around Dunkin Donuts this is the place for you. Wait… did I say «next to the porn store»? Did I say, good looking ladies serving DONUTS? In my book (of rules I carry around in my breast pocket) there is NO REASON to go anywhere else!!! It is a plus for me that I like their coffee best.
