Fishers Farmers Market

This market has really grown! I still remember when it was only a handful of vendors now it has around 30 – 40 offering a good variety of items: baked goods, breakfast items, produce, specialty food items, meat, eggs, pies, flowers, coffee, tea, honey, sweet corn, pasta, frozen yogurt. There is a large common area to stretch out, relax, enjoy breakfast and listen to live music as performers play from the amphitheater.

*My Dads Sweet Corn — the best sweet corn you will find in Indiana

*Chocolate For The Spirit — Mayan Spice Bar (you must try this)
*Pierogis In A Pinch — any flavor, try them, amah-​zing.
*Skillington Farms — Farm fresh breakfast wraps and sandwiches
*Spencer Farm — strawberries and fresh produce
*Wildflower Ridge Honey — the best whipped honey, peanut butter honey, jalapeño honey!
*Parking — lots of it!
Would love to see this market increase the number of produce vendors as it’s slim pickings after 10:30 other then that, this is a great local market in Fishers. Not nearly as crowded as Broad Ripple, it’s dog friendly, within walking distance of shopping/​restaurants, I see this market really growing. Fun to watch it grow!

Great farmer’s market with a ton more open space since they have relocated to the Nickel Plate amphitheatre area. I recall before the construction it was packed into the train depot space so it’s a welcome change. Admittedly has been a while since I have been to the Fisher’s market.
Plenty of local vendors covering all your typical farmer’s market needs (coffee, vegetables, meat, etc.) Pierogis in a Pinch (from Pendleton) cooking up samples along with frozen ones for sale. My Dad’s Sweet Corn also (IMO the most consistent corn in the area).

I don’t know when was the last time I attended this market. According to a vendor, this is the second year to be located behind the amphitheater. Parking seems to be on the grass — not so good in this raining weather because it causes muddy areas.
From Lisa’s Pie, I bought a $ 2 cup of strawberry, pineapple, and banana slush. Also, I got a $ 1 lemon cake ball (will try later), a $ 1.50 M&M w/​chocolate chips cookie to help with the cost of an after-​school program in Brazil, and 2 zucchini for $ 1.

There are a lot of great vendors here. Cate’s Cottage is one of my favorite for plants. We have had good experiences with Castaway Compost. The pasta place has an amazing variety of flavors. My sons love to get a pretzel from Pat’s to eat while we walk around. Bliss Haven farm’s flowers are absolutely gorgeous. It’s a highlight of our trip for my sons and I to argue about which gorgeous bouquet to pick up for the week. We walk away with our bags full of fresh baked foods, produce, flowers, and usually a treat or two for the coming week.
It was a good move to change the location to the amphitheater lawn, as it is much more spacious now. We look forward to attending as many Saturdays as we can.

On most Saturday mornings this farmer’s market waffles between a 3 and 4 star experience. It really depends on what vendors are there and what produce is in season. Favorite perennials include Walking Waffle, Cornerstone Bread Company, and Guacamole! Now that I think about it all three of these vendors are located in the same small area of the market. Good food must flock together.
Generally the market is full of people although the area is rather large so you never feel crowded. Do expect there to be many dogs in attendance and some live music that you will either love or hate (there doesn’t seem to be a lot of middle ground concerning the talent on stage).

We get up early every Saturday we are home just to get eggrolls! Its worth the wait in line.

I have been hoping to check out a Farmers Market or two this summer but it’s impossible sometimes to get my kiddos going and out the door before noon on a Saturday. However, I pushed us and we were able to explore Fishers Farmers Market, which is located in front of the amphitheater on the north side of town. It’s a very spacious open area and there are several vendors offering everything from fudge to fresh veggies and there is also an organic meat vendor as well. We got some lamb chops and chicken wings at the recommendation of another couple who «comes here every week for the meat». I got some kettle corn which is tasty but not the best I’ve ever had and my hubby was excited about Grandpa’s beef jerky. We also got some vegetables, homemade pico and guacamole which they offered samples of and were quite tasty!
Overall, parking is good with plenty to go around but the cars really don’t yield to pedestrians (odd, no??) so just be careful crossing the street with the kids. Live music and ample room to move around. No one was in too big of a hurry which I also liked.
All in all, I am a fan and would go back, especially if we like the meat!
