It’s now a tradition; when we visit Yosemite we stop here and get our picnic lunch made fresh by the friendly people behind the counter. When I expressed that I am vegan, they made me a lovely avocado, cucumber and hummus sandwich. After hours of exploring Yosemite, once we finally sat down to eat, we all exclaimed that our sandwiches were delicious, and they must have been because they disappeared in a blink of a famished eye. You can taste how much care and love the folks put into their food, so as we plan our next trip in a few days, we are also planning to have our picnics catered by Fish Camp General Store.

Friendly service as you pick up a sandwich and treats on your way into the park or on your way to Fresno airport! $ 7.99 box lunch and souvenirs on the shelves! You can find wine, Pellegrino, cookies, granola, t-shirts, or just good conversation. Tell Mr. Oklahoma the Austin girls say hello!

We stopped at this little shop on our way out of Yosemite cus we were looking for a place to stop and fish. We didn’t have any equipment and the two amazing people working there actually went through their shed, found us an old pole, grabbed some fishing line of their own the had and some sinners, hooks and bobbers they had laying around and in minutes we had us a ready to use fishing pole. We bought some bait from the store and walked down to the lake and had such a great afternoon. Love meeting people towho just want to help others. Thank you for adding the whip cream and cherry to our beautiful Yosemite weekend.

Sandwich was pre-made and young girl behind counter had a really bad attitude. Slamming refrigerator door when we ordered, and giving us mean looks for being their. Was a small market but sandwiches were nothing like they posted by stream.

Fish Camp General Store is just that, a general store. Nothing fancy just a small little shop with that mom and pop feel to it selling the standard things and knick knacks and souvenirs for the tourist. It’s on your way to the Yosemite gate. We came here after playing on the frozen lake Fish Camp lake across the road. Yes, the lake was completely frozen and people were ice skating so we went shoe skating. We came here just to grab a drink and take a look around. Servie was great people were nice. Though we didn’t try the food if we had we would have not expected some gourmet sort of experience being that it is a small little shop on the side of the road. A pit stop… I guess we are more realist.

…and now, for my first documented AUDIOREVIEW with guest appearance by Chrissy H!(my sister). This was recorded on her iphone 4 voice memo notes while I drove us on the winding road to Yosemite Valley. if I can figure it out… I would like to link the audio :] — Chrissy: Recording now. Mental Notes: Heather: General store, that we picked up our sandwiches — lady was very friendly and excited that we were there. Made a sandwich that Chrissy says, ya know, a normal person could probably make –SHE’D make better— but ya know, like a boy. Gave us free bananas for breakfast… that was nice. Chrissy: Coffee not so good. (both laughs) Heather: Coffee not so good. We’ll report back on sandwiches later. Over and out. Take 2: Chrissy: Fish Camp General Store update. Sandwich — not quite delicious, not enough lettuce, a lil bit soggy… close to — what did i say? — Timberwolf Pizzeria? Timber-something, I think. It’s on highway 41. (we knew we’d have to add it to the database and tried to figure out the address) — In short, this lil general store is off the 41 on the left side of the road as you make your way from Bass Lake into Yosemite. this is the LAST and only stop to purchase food, drinks and other convenience store items before getting there. We wanted some sammies for lunch while hiking, so it was a good thing we didn’t chance waiting a bit for something better to come along. It’s funny because I had no idea the AREA is called Fish Camp. I was assuming it was stating the benefits the store has to offer to nature goers. FISH CAMP GENERAL(things) F.C.G…yaknowwhatimsayin’???
