The following is just my personal feeling. Coming from Southern California and going to this«Mexican» restaurant was almost laughable. There is nothing that tastes like it was close to Mexican and was much like I assume Taco Bell tastes. Only redeeming value was the beer was cold.

So I gave Olers one last try. Sadly, still falls way short. Interesting that the owner text me after first review but never followed up after I responded to him. Seems like they are just trying to cut costs with the food. Locals are getting the message because there was definitely less people there tan usual. Used to have to wait 20 minutes — not any more. What a shame

Wow… I have tried this place 3 times and last night will be my last time. I have no understanding why Findlayites flock to this place. Lets start with the quality of food. To use sweet sauces in Mexican food instead of spicy and MEXICAN flavored show me that the cooks are NOTMEXICAN. Neither the wait staff, hostess or other help was Mexican there. I am assuming the same about the cook. The food was basically bland and just(oh gosh how can I explain it… BAD) and flavorless! The wait staff seemed confused and put out by simple requests. My fiancé always eats everything on his plate since he has a big appetite, but wouldn’t touch the rice and coleslaw after a bite of each. He said he is one and done with that place. My food(Fajita salad) had the«house salad dressing» and it tasted like a very sweet(I am not sure), maybe sugar and some water and lime or something??? GAG It didn’t taste at a like Fajitas, not even close. Secondly, its dirty, old and run down. It looks abandoned from the outside and the sign above the door looks like its ready to fall off, hanging on. It shows no pride on the outside so whats going on with the inside? Perhaps a good idea would be to hire a Mexican crew if that’s what you call yourself. Start making authentic Mexican food, like La Charritas… YUMMY And take pride in appearance… starting with the inside and work your way out.

Dollar Taco night on Monday night is great and packed. Expect a little wait on Monday as it’s become very popular but it’s fun anyway. Don’t forget to say hi to Chrissy the bartender. She’s one of the best and I always stop at the bar to say hi. She’s as much a part of the experience of eating there as the old building and the chips and yummy salsa. She remembers her customers and their drinks. It’s like she reads minds. She also has researched the history of the building so ask her about the bullet holes in the ceiling. The waitstaff are great and it never fails that I run into friends and family while eating. They are expanding the restaurant to include the drive thru building next door, which will alleviate some of the wait. Definitely a Findlay gem. Don’t change too much!

The location is the only downfall. The food is always hot and taste amazing. I would recommend any of the chimichangas and if you want a good drink the red eye is where it’s at. Definitely a findlay staple. Bring your friends!

Simply a let down. Growing up in the Bowling Green area it was a treat to go to Oler’s for a good dinner. Now it’s food quallity shamefully bad. I wish it was the place I remember of years past. I have had lunch there several times in hopes of the issue being an isolated to one visit, but it was the same bad food on each visit.

A hometown tradition. The epitome of a dive bar and great place to eat. Service may not be with a smile every time, but the food is worthy, on time to the table and plenty of it! The margaritas are the best in town. It’s the place to go to see a friend or a table full of friends. The packed parking lot ensures this is the place to be.

Olers is one of those perfect local dives; it looks scary on the outside but the food is good, inexpensive and filling. The atmosphere is super casual, staff is helpful and efficient and the margaritas are delicious. Great place for groups and families. It isn’t traditional Mexican, though. More Tex-Mex so keep that in mind– the tostizza is a must!

Is it possible to leave no stars? This is the worst«Mexican» food I’ve ever eaten. It also wasn’t cheap. 2 margaritas that were the size of shot glasses(and disgusting), 2 fish tacos that were basically cheap frozen fish, rice, a cheese quesadilla and chips and queso for $ 45?! No thanks. I could have made all this at home for a fraction of the price and it would have been edible. Don’t judge a book by its cover but in this case do. The only positive thing I can say is our server was very nice, but that’s all this place has going for them.

I can’t believe how horrible the food was last night. My parents brought me home some food and I couldn’t even eat it. I got chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The chicken tasted so nasty, it tasted like the shredded chicken that comes out of a can… but worse. They were topped with chopped onion that was so rancid and oxidized, it smelled like it was chopped a week ago. I made sure none of that touched my mouth… and to top it all off there was no enchilada sauce on the enchiladas. That’s the first time I have ever encountered that from a restaurant before. The rice was a seasoned brown rice that tasted like it came from a box. I am still wondering why they don’t have traditional Mexican rice there. The chips were the only good thing, maybe because it required no preparation by the kitchen. The salsa tasted so cheap that there was nothing yummy or homemade about it. I don’t care if other people think of this place as a «Findlay staple,» I will not support a place that does not put more pride in their food and pretty much is putting out the cheapest product that they can get away with. I cannot believe this place hasn’t gone out of business. This place needs a serious overhaul!

I cannot begin to explain how bad this place is. Oler’s has been around Findaly forever… and I have absolutly no idea why it is still in business. People rave about thier margaritas, but they are nothing but cheap tequila and Rose’s lime juice. There were eight of us in our party and only my father finished his food… and he got the ribs… yes…ribs at a Mexican restuaraunt. We actually were laughing near the end of our meal it was so bad. Where to begin… My girlfriend asked for a cheese enchilada with her enchilada dinner(cheese was not an option and now we know why). It was baiscally a greasy brick of shreaded cheddar cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla and covered with chopped raw white onions. The chicken enchilada was equally as bad. I didn’t try it, but the way my girlfriend described it to the group was shredded chicken mixed with either cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup. And the enchilada dinner was missing a key element: enchilada sauce. My girlfriend, who can put away some Mexican food, had about four bites of her entire meal. We also took a picture with the cheese brick to provide some comic relief from the horrible meal, and to show proof of it. It truly was disgusting. I had some pork dish covered in cheese. It, too, was missing any sauce, vegetables or flavor. Hey… just cover it in cheese and call it Mexican! There was absolutly nothing Mexican about my dinner. Its bad news when my mother says she can make better Mexican than a legendary eatery. They didn’t even come close on the most basic of Mexican staples… RICE&BEANS. The rice was like no other spanish rice i have ever had before. It was more like a long grain spiced rice mix likely from a box. If you are going to box route, just get a box of Mexican rice, it could not have been any worse. The beans, well, I don’t even want to go there. It was like the stuff you get a taco bell at 2:30 in the morning… been sitting in the steam table all day… all congealed and nasty. For people who are saying this is the Midwest’s «take» on Mexican food, they clearly are delusional. I don’t mean to be rude, but I cannot underscore enough how inedible the food was. I can’t believe I even paid for that garbage. Unilocal needs to change the rating option to include zero stars because Olers is not even deserving of one star. If I won the lottery it would give me great joy to buy this place and buldoze it to the ground so nobody would ever be exposed to their terrible food ever again.

While the outside of the place terrified my girlfriend, I had heard good things about the place, so I was eager to try it out. I could sit here writing you a story about the place, but I think it’s far better to just say it’s really good. For somebody who eschews«Americanized» restaurants for the real thing, I was pleasantly surprised with Oler’s. Their food, while not even remotely authentic, had a taste of its own that sat well with me. The service was honest and polite, none of that veiled resentment you get from a lot of restaurant servers. Food came out quick, refills came quick, and I have to repeat myself, the food was delicious. If you want a good, if unappealing to look at appetizer, get the dirty dip. One small note, I don’t know if this is common or if we just came at a bad time, the chips were a bit chewy. A far cry from the delicious, light and crispy chips that come from basically every other mexican restaurant. Still, I enjoyed my time here, and I’d like to come back soon, which is about the best thing a restaurant can do.

Oler’s Bar & Grill has been around for decades. I think that’s the same length of time since they’ve fixed up the outside of the place. However, I know it’s intentional. Now, if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, you’re not going to be happy here. This is the Midwest’s take on Mexican food. Oler’s is a place to take a group of friends to drink beer, have some burritos, and eat those bottomless baskets of tortilla chips they provide when seated. The food is good in its own right, but you mainly go there to socialize with other Findlay natives.

Oler’s is a Findlay staple. They have good Americanized Mexican food and strong margaritas. My favorites are: «Wet» Mexi-Cali burrito Tostizza hard-shell tacos Mixing their red and green salsa 50⁄50(YUM!!) I always run into someone I know when I am in Oler’s, even thought I moved way from Findlay in 1998!

A Findlay staple: Oler’s. Its easy to come to Oler’s and run into someone you know. Oler’s has amercanized Mexican food that is tasty. While the outside may deter you(on the railroad tracks and attached to a drive thru) the inside is welcoming and comfortable. Oler’s is a great place to meet friends or enjoy dinner with the family.
