Unfortunately, I will not be able to review the food here. This was going to be my first order from here. I had several friends at my house and we were craving some food and decided to call Zorba’s and get a bunch of appetizers and gyros delivered. The woman asked what I would like and I started by telling her two lamb gyros. No sooner than I said the word gyro I was told they don’t make them after 4:00PM. It was about 8:00PM when I called. This was a major disappointment and I stopped my order right there as we all wanted gyros and apps. I don’t understand how a place that specializes in Greek food can take gyros off the menu. I’ve been to a few greek restaurants and other than Zorba’s they make gyros all day/night. Because Zorba’s doesn’t make gyros after 4pm they just lost our $ 60 order. This experience has soured me on this restaurant and I won’t be trying again.

Atmosphere was homey and comfortable. The cook’s greet you as you come in along with the host. We made a reservation a couple hours before coming in on a Saturday night and our table was ready with bread and waters all around when we arrived. Food was incredible; fresh and came out quickly. We had several shared entres which were all delicious. Service was phenomenal. Great place for a date or small group.

Wonderful low key, good Greek food. The hot appetizer(mussels, calamari, and octopus) was good. Bowl of mussels in a tomatoey sauce and tons of calamari. The octopus was in a balsamic and oil sauce which was really good, I just wish it was more than 6 tiny pieces. Overall enough for even three. We got a Zeus(which is the hot appetizer and dips) too. The dips were just okay, nothing to brag about. The lamb leg was very tender and a big hunk of meat. Very flavorful lamb and veggies dish. Good value. I wish I didn’t want so much space on the bland white bread they provided. Overall the service was lacking. They completely forgot about my friends Sprite until we asked a couple times. Our two friends shared a meat platter for two and they didn’t even bring small plates for them. Easy to make reservations. Definitely would return on a casual night. Good good at a good value.

We moved back to the greater Philly area after eight years in Lowell, MA. In the late 19/early 20 C Lowell had one of the largest Greek populations in the US. Greatly changed today, the legacy continued with two Greek owned restaurants. Their food was good and as authentic as you can still find. Zorba’s lived up to our expectations. The high points — their tzatziki was wonderful as was their lemon soup — very delicious. Their gyro was a gyro but made all the better by their(I presume) house made tzatziki. Great location on Fairmount — easy to get to from both the Art Museum and Eastern Penitentiary. Will definitely return to try more of their menu. Opa!

Came with a party of 9, the restaurant is byob, so it’s nice to be able to bring a few bottles of wine. I was also accompanied by my girlfriend, we decided to split the charcoal platter for 2. I’m Glad to say the platter was excellent, great charcoal taste and a wide variety, with a good portion of proteins. I will definitely return. Furthermore, Yani was our server and was excellent our whole party enjoyed the food, the atmosphere as well as the service.

Wow, is this restaurant outstanding! We visit Philadelphia every few months, from New York City. We found Zorba’s thanks to all the other terrific reviews on Unilocal. We had the grilled combination, and every part of it was just delicious. Never had such tender and tasty pork, chicken, lamb chops, gyro and potatoes. It’s BYOB and the hostess was so nice in opening, corking and pouring our wine. Great service, and the restaurant looks beautiful too. Romantic and the dessert was delicious as well. The manager, Steve was so gracious. Anastasia, who served us was absolutely exceptional. Worth the trip from anywhere. We will return again and again.

A Sunday night in mid December with short sleeved diners occupying outside tables at Zorbas? Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria? It was an unbelievably beautiful evening! We chose to eat inside and the space had two small dining rooms. The décor is very simple and rustic Greek but with white linen table cloths. We did not have to wait for a table but Zorba’s was doing a good business on this Sunday night, especially with the 4 or 5 tables outside. First the bread Zorba’s served was fantastic. It was super soft with a crunchy crust. The Olive Oil dipping sauce also made the bread even better. We had to seriously restrain ourselves from filling up on the bread. We went with the grilled octopus appetizer. I think this was best grilled octopus I have ever tried. It was tender with a nice grilled flavor and the sauce was also excellent. For the main course I had the Chicken Souvlaki. I really like this dish, the chicken was grilled and moist. It came with a nice Tzatzikii sauce, rice potatoes and vegetables. The portion size was good also. We also had the classic roasted leg of lamb which also had that wonderful grilled flavor and came with some nice sides. My daughter had the over roasted lamb meatballs. This would be good dish on a colder night, a usual mid December night. For dessert we had coffee and something sweet that was unpronounceable by us. It was a custard with Filo dough and honey. It was also quite good. Our bill was about $ 25.00 per person before tip, We probably could have ordered 2 main courses and shared that between the three of us. We might do that next time, we might not. Zorba’s is a BYOB restaurant which I like. Parking is pretty tough in this area but I did find a space on Green Street a couple of blocks away. There is a pay lot directly across the street however. Our server was very good and pleasant and the food came out surprisingly quickly. We really liked Zorbas and we will go back.

Finally decided to check out this little gem in Fairmount. One word, amazing! I ordered the lamb shank with red wine and tomato sauce along with the spicy feta cheese. The lamb was well seasoned and tender. The baked potato was exquisite and the spicy fita added a nice touch. Will def be returning!

Excellent service, delicious food, what more could you want?! Everyone was so friendly from the host, to the cooks, to the waitress. We ordered the zeus dish, which I highly recommend. It’s a combo or hot and cold appetizers. We loved everything. We also got a chicken souvlaki which was just perfection. I could eat their roasted potatoes forever, it was that good. My only complaint was that there weren’t more potatoes on the plate!

Food, always a 5. Service, super hit or miss, and lately, more miss then hit. Stop telling me you don’t take reservations every time I call & then ask me if I have a reservation when I walk in the door.

Great find in the Fairmount area just down the street from Eastern State. No hipster pretenses, just great food served fast. The cold appetizer sampler was a huge hit – interesting variety of flavors including the typical(hummus) and not-so-typical(spicy feta cheese + many others). Highly recommend it for anyone else. My brother thought the gyros were the best he’s ever had; while I wouldn’t go that far, they were excellent and the sandwich and platter were both generously portioned. Service was quick and friendly. Menu seems like it could easily be explored some more, so I’ll definitely be back.

Called Zorba’s at 3: o’clock on a Friday and after a few minutes of juggling, they were able to find us an Table, good start to what I will say was superb service and food grilled to perfection. It appears that they expanded since my last visit(2 yrs ago) but this is still a cozy intimate place that is awesome for a nicely prepared experience. Started out with the cold combination appt. and it was definitely worth it. Refreshing and flavors that excites your taste buds to no end. Plenty for two but be adventurous and try the grilled octopus. You will enjoy whatever you take home tomorrow if not later that night. Moved onto the«Fisherman’s Feast» good golly miss Molly every bite was a party that had me tapping my feet under the table. As I looked around the room I noticed most were digging in with yum written all over their face. Sorry didn’t do dessert, I just wanted to savor the flavors I had just experienced. Come you will not regret it. I suggest you call and make a reservation.

If you want authentic Greek food, come here! During the summer, sit outside — there isn’t any A/C inside and it’s too hot and stuffy. But they have outdoor seating. It’s a good idea to call ahead for a reservation. I came for dinner and ordered the combo cold appetizer platter — the hummus, roasted eggplant and tzatiki were my favorite. The pita is served warm and fresh. My sister ordered the lamb gyro platter, my brother ordered the Greek salad and I ordered the imam baldi(half of a roasted eggplant with a delicious tomato, sautéed onion mixture on top with feta– served hot, it was a little sweet) delicious. I loved it! Everyone was so happy with their dishes. We devoured everything. I will absolutely be back!!! The prices are very reasonable.

Holy moly this place is delicious! And incredibly affordable! My boyfriend and I started off with the cold dips appetizer and loved all of them! I was wary of the caviar one, however, it kind of ended up tasting like lox cream cheese. The potato and garlic one was also delicious, but beware. It’s very intense on the garlic. Grilled pita was served piping hot and a perfect compliment! We then split a grilled meat platter for two, and honestly, this could feed three to four depending on your people. We got lamb, sausage, two types of chicken, pork, gyro meat. It was amazing! All of the meat well seasoned, tender, and perfectly cooked. Came with rice and veggies as a sidebar at service too! All in all, a delicious byob around the corner from my house? Sign me up for some garlic breath.

3.5 stars for me. We ordered the hot app combination platter(octopus, calamari, and mussels), gourmet lamb sampler for two, the greek honey cake for dessert, and coffees so we wouldn’t go into a food coma. The combo platter was not appetizing, so I would forgo this at the next visit. Small bits of octopus and small mussels. The portion for calamari was plentiful, but I was craving more of the octopus and mussels when we placed the order. However, the lamb platter with the red sauce was great! Very, very tender and flavorful. It also came with potatoes and vegetables to help soak up the juices from the lamb and sauce. Honey cake with coffee was needed after this meal. Service was attentive! Sit outside when the weather is nice, grab a bottle of wine, and enjoy.
