I’m pretty sure this place is no longer there. Definitely call before going.

Ok, really and truly, this is a weird concept. At no point during my first(and subsequent) visits did the lightbulb flash and I said, «Oh, right, THAT’S why you’d put a coffee shop and spa together!». Despite my lack of a eureka moment, this coffee shop still really works for me. I don’t hold the spa against them. And really, someday I might be working in the coffee shop and just get the uncontrollable desire to have my eyebrows waxed or my back massaged. And won’t I be glad that I don’t even have to go outside to get that done! Until that point in time, I’ll continue to enjoy West End. They have a number of tables to work at as well as some comfy pink(like your grandmother’s) chairs. They have plenty of outlets and wifi. They also serve some food and don’t get cranky if you stay there for a few hours working. I ordered the pizza, which was ok, but nothing spectacular. The service, however, is phenomenal. The barista/waitress/hostess was super cool and super friendly. The music is relaxing. Really, it’s a great place to go if you’re looking for a nice coffee shop to lounge in or to get some work done. And just in case you NEED to get a wax while you’re there, they’ve got you covered!

At first I was hesitant going in because the space just seems so sporadic — b/t a coffee house, a retail store, and a spa. But I’m glad I did. Once you walk to the back of the coffee house, its easy to forget you even entered this multi-purpose space, and that’s a great thing. The room is spacious and the wax was painless, clean, and non-awkward! What I love most about this place, closely followed by the Salon manager, Lee, is the convenience – it takes appointments and is even opened on Sundays!!!

This is a café connected to a spa. so you get all the benefits of being at a spa without actually, uh, using a spa. I’m not even really sure what people do at a spa, but the people here tend to be, on average, more attractive and hygienic, so I’ll guess that water and a dubious self image are involved.(har har) I really have no taste in coffee, so I’ll say the coffee is good enough to satisfy my definition of coffee. The huge windows let in lots of light, and the music is usually above adequate in quality. I think it’s open till 10, but I’ve never stayed there that long. Coffee has the unfortunate characteristic of being able to inspire me while making it difficult to sit still long enough to write everything out. Tragic.
