Don’t go here. Happy hour doesn’t exist. Drafts listed on the menu chalkboard don’t exist. Pbr listed as 16oz came as a 12 ounce. I think I got aids from the bathroom…

Small venue and it smells and gets hot real quick if it’s a sold out show. Merch tables were upstairs in the back corner and we couldn’t even get to it after the show ended. Very poor layout. Disappointing.

Never ate any food here but I am a touring professional, and have played here on a few occasions. Staff and every is accommodating and this is a super dive and fun punk show vibe venue.

Service and staff were professional, polite and first rate. Good selection of adult beverages at fair prices. Food was OK, better than your average Rock Venue. The atmosphere is cool, with a nice selection of places to hang out, sit down or dance. The evening was somewhat spoiled by the sheer volume of the sound. The house mix was WAYTOOLOUD! I have attended hundreds of shows, and have also played or done sound in HUNDREDS of other musical events, and this event(2÷18÷16) WASWAYTOOLOUD. You should buy a sound pressure meter for the house sound man, and show him what 110db looks like. Anything over 110db is not only unpleasant, it’s downright harmful. It spoiled what would otherwise have been a very nice night out.

This bar is great. The people here are so friendly and the drinks are fantastic! Other than it being extremely cold, it’s a great place to go! I would definitely return if the heat got turned on.

I always come here for shows, never for anything else. The space is pretty open with limited seating but there are more options upstairs. Easy to get to on public transportation, hookahs, and fairly heavy handed on the drinks. Bathrooms desperately need an update.

A great venue. I love the look of this, a bit of grit. Everything facing the stage, lots of room on the floor, I like the balcony. To me, this is what a small concert venue should be. I also like that they have hookah, and I wish they did the hookah during shows, but I can understand why they don’t. I dislike that it is cash only. I also dislike that the guy checking IDs had a philly PD badge hanging from his neck. That’s a little weird. I think it sends the wrong message.

Definitely a great Philly venue stop. Only complaint I have is the few times I have been there it seems like the bar was understaffed and definitely took longer than it should of. Also, they REALLY and I mean SERIOUSLYREALLY need to upgrade their sound. I feel like they would sell out every show if they had a newer sound system that was crisp and something over 75K watts that they could promote and talk about. Other than that, average priced drinks and a decent spot.

Good spot for performances. We played here recently in the Slum Village Yes Tour. Nice place and very intimate. Really good energy. Bartender even bought one of my shirts and supported the cause. I would check out a show here if in the Philly area.

I don’t know, I think the bathrooms are AMAZING… The service is FLAWLESS… But, uhh, maybe I don’t wanna be here on the night this MC «The Rapist» performs…

I came to this lounge on 06÷04÷15, for a show my cousin was performing in. The place overall is average. The one thing I didn’t understand is how it’s cash only. It’s 2015 and its a lounge. The bartender and guy at the door was nice. The drinks are fairly priced. It ranges from $ 4.00-$ 6.00 for beer and not sure about the mixed drinks. They have a food menu which seems a little over priced seeing the environment and overall look of the place. Burgers were $ 11.00-$ 12.00 and came with fries. They had appetizers and sandwiches as well as salads. However it’s cash only so I didn’t order anything. The bathroom was pretty clean but they could use a mirror by the sink, that would be great. Also one of the faucet knows were broken but still was able to get water out of it. The performances were good and that’s what I came there for. Each artist performed four songs each and interacted with the crowd to keep them engaged. There was a $ 10.00 cover charge at the door, which was ok with me. They had a flat screen behind the bar so I watched that until the show started. They also had a DJ playing music before the show which was cool. This place should accept cards, they could even set a minimum. I think it would be convenient for patrons coming inside of here. I had a good time for what I paid and would probably come back here in the future.

I’ve been here 3 maybe 4 times. Firstly. If it is too crowded in this establishment, the pipes that are exposed in the ceiling start to sweat. And when they sweat, your getting random nasty huge drops of water all over you. Gross. Last night, i returned for the fight because ladies viewed for free. Service at the bar SUCKS. Maybe they just need more staff. But the bartenders that were there were very vocal with customers who did not leave tips… which to me is very unprofessional. Sitting at the bar, i heard numerous requests for drinks being denied because they didn’t have this or that. The kitchen closed at 11, ONFIGHTNIGHT! Bad business move! People were hungry and wanted to spend money on food. They had no fruit for drinks. So no limes for the coronas. No pineapple juice. We ordered a mint hookah, which took forever to come. They had no tips for the end of the hose. They told us to use straws if we really needed a tip. Again, i ordered a mint hookah. They gave me peach. Only to tell me that was all they had. So i returned it and got my money back. I did appreciate that they had crabbies ginger beer and that I viewed the fight for free. Definitely like a younger college crowd.

There’s a change going on at voltage that everyone needs to be aware of and it’s the live music coming through. Hardcore. Punk. Rap. Straight DIY shit with some old school bands you’d never see in a smaller venue. Don’t just look at it as a place to chill before a electric factory show, which is great too when wanting to get shit faced on the cheap. Beer and shot 6 bucks. Perfect. The real gem is the music going on when the factory isn’t running any shows. Props to the promoters. Stop Unilocaling. Take a chance. Live.

Went here to get some drinks and food before a concert at the electric factory. It was great to park at the electric factory, walk 50 feet to the bar and hang out until show time. Good selection of beer and food. Had some fries and nachos, both were good, pricy but what I expected. Cool place to hang out and kill time, easy to walk back to the concert at show time. Recommended for anyone heading to the factory for a show!!!

Voltage Lounge features tiny, overpriced drinks in cheap plastic cups, wait staff who don’t know how to set up the hookahs they advertise so proudly, surly bartenders and bouncers, and a terrible sound technician. They are unprofessional and at times downright rude to customers, as well as the bands and artists that perform there. They seem to operate under the belief that they are the only music venue in Philadelphia, and as such believe that they can wait until the last hours before shows to change time slots and lineups, giving performers little to no warning. They refuse to offer ticket refunds to those customers who had purchased their tickets under the reasonable assumption that they would see the performers of their choice on the night they had purchased tickets. TL; DR– Don’t go to Voltage Lounge if you would like to have a good time watching your favorite artists perform, and don’t sign up for gigs there if you expect to be able to play.

If i was killing time before a show at the Electric Factory this would be better than standing outside. Or if there was a bland playing at Voltage that I couldn’t see anywhere else, maybe. However, the blond bartender is very unfriendly and aloof. You are not working at Le Bec Fin honey. And their mixed drinks come in tiny plastic cups. And there was no band, no rowdy crowd with the possibllity of breaking glass in the mêlée of a show, but a few people sitting at the bar drinking weak gin and tonics out of cup not much bigger than a dixie cup. Class it up Voltage– use glass. Karaōke on Tuesdays is cool because it’s early, 6 – 9, and if there’s no show it’s not too croweded so you can sing a lot of songs, and those folks at Dr. Thunder Karaōke are really nice.

Where to start… so I guess in the fact that its not McGillicuddys anymore… about 5 months ago I guess they change — sure wish I knew that! :-/This is my final farewell letter to this place cause I will not be coming back… Now I really don’t give our 1 stars often… but I just couldn’t get to 2 for the life of me; — Total menu change — its one page and really basic options — They are trying to make it a hookah lounge??? — they really invested in the décor to make it loungy(not)…a little spray paint on the walls upstairs and some red paper lanters on the lights — it’s kinda red light scary now! And since when did any Hookah place also offer a fish bowl — come on and just pick one or the other. The vibe in there is so weird now, it just wasn’t the cool comfy divey pub it used to be… — Had sign for their day’s specials behind the bar of .50 wings but didn’t give us that price — apparently it was yesterday’s special and they never took it down — nice — Really shitty service, so there were 5 people at the bar when we sat down… the bar tender literally looked at us and went back to talking to her friends… about 5 minutes later she asked us if we wanted a drink…(I think the look on my face said something like«no I came to a bar to just sit, of course I want a drink! geeze! oh but don’t let me get in the way of socializing with your buddies or anything») — And randomly patrons(maybe employees? but they were out on the floor drinking and hanging outside with people the entire time we were there) were coming behind the bar and getting stuff — at one point I was even confused as to who the bartender really was, guess it was the girl who cashed us out — So we ate the wings which didn’t have as many flavor options so we got buffalo and old bay, they were ok and you can’t mess us a glass of wine and a beer so those were good. — There was also a DJ setting up — again I come back to what hookah bar have you ever seen a DJ in… but the crowd that the DJ brought was a little«rough» and really loud. There was literally, between 2 of us, nothing good to say… sad…sad

Went here for a friend’s event last night and this place is ok at best. I think 4.50 for a PBR is kind of pushing it, but hey it’s due to the area I suppose. The one bartender was very grumpy though and seem like she did not want to be there. I do not need a slight attitude for a drink.
