This is a solid post office. Yeah, it’s usually pretty busy but it’s the biggest post office in the city(I think???). Either way, it’s the postal mecca. So you may have to wait in line and the service folks may be irritable. More often, however, I see customers yelling at the employees. Everyone I have encountered has been kind, somewhat short but nothing rude. I will say I usually do generally simple transactions. This location has a self service kiosk which has virtually no line. If you want to buy stamps or mail a regular package then I would say use that machine. This location also has a lot of PO boxes. I’ll be back here! It’s convenient for me because it’s close to my job.

Worst post office ever! The people working there have no idea what they’re doing. Went in for my daughter’s passport and spent over two hours. The lady took her good old time, took about 20 minutes with each customer’s application, walking back and forth chatting with co-workers and there were 11 people waiting, mumbling under their breaths and getting more frustrated at the service and amount of time they have to wait. It was ridiculous, and this was the third time we came to get the passport done. The first two times they closed the passport bureau early(because there wasn’t enough staff). Never coming back here.

I know the Post Office gets a bad rap but the people here could not have been nicer. I was sent something to my PO Box at the 19110 location, but saw online that it was delivered to the 19104 location instead. I went to 19110 and they were absolutely no help at all, and incredibly rude to boot. When I arrived at 19104, I waited in line for less than five minutes. Having already been screwed by USPS twice that day, I was prepared to be disappointed and angry again. However, the woman at the counter was very pleasant and assured me that they could fix my problem. She called over her manager who searched through the deliveries downstairs, pulled my package out of circulation so it wouldn’t go to 19110, and handed it right to me. He was also incredibly nice. These people were extremely helpful, and I was so relieved that they could help me so quickly.

I spent 1.5 hours here trying to ship an item through Global Exchange(GXG) via FedEx. The lady has no idea what she needed to do. And she kept wasting time by asking her colleagues to double check her work which meant that her colleagues had to leave their own customers hanging while servicing me. It was very awkward with 20 other customers waiting in line and this extremely undertrained staff. I eventually said that I didn’t feel comfortable shipping it with them since they are so unclear with the procedure. They convinced me to ship it and guess what?! It got returned! FedEx said the description was not detailed enough. I checked with USPS and they told me it was«all good». Wtf. You guys need more training and MORESTAFF to deal with the volume of customers you receive. If you don’t have 2 hours to spare please go somewhere else. It’s extremely disappointing and frustrating to be there. Avoid it.

I actually just had a thoroughly painless, borderline pleasant experience at this post office. I’ve dealt with the hellaciously long lines before, too, but went in today with a package to ship and was out in three minutes flat! The postal worker who assisted me was very pleasant, and ensured that the package went out for as little cost as possible. This location is also open way later than other locations, and you can typically find(free) parking outside on Chestnut St.

terrible. the«customer service» lines move at the speed of cold molasses. my next day priority parcels have taken longer than first class mail on two occasions. bring your own writing instrument, usps doesn’t have any pens available. i would stop going here if not for the self-service machine. that box gets 5 stars.

Yup… not at all surprised this place has 1 star. I’ve never seen anything on Unilocal with one star overall haha! This place looks super modern and you think you’re about to have a yay post office experience. The line is alwayssss long. Like if you go anytime in the afternoon 2−6pm, prepare to be standing in line forevaaa. And if you mess up on anything, they will not help you out, and send you to the back of the line. The workers are just straight up mean! One time someone working there said something rude under her breath… like while I was right in front of her. Wtf did I do? And since everyone is waiting in line, everyone is really aggressive and takes everything seriously. Need to borrow a pen? Nope. Need someone to hold your spot while you grab a box that’s right there? Nope. Only good thing is their long hours. But seriously, just go to the one in Suburban Station.

Do they not have a zero stars rating? I was waiting in line like everyone else and a man asked EVERYONE in line if it would be ok for him to use the pen at the front of the line to fill out a label and communicate that he wasn’t trying to cut in front of us. Everyone in line understood and he went up TOUSETHEONLYPENAVAILABLE to be rewarded with a sharp «SIR! Back of the line!!» «But I’m jus-« “I SAIDBACKOFTHELINE!» Another person quickly pipes up «he’s just filling out a label, he already told all of us and we’re fine with it» «HECANFILLITOUTATTHEBACKOFTHELINE!» «Mam’, it’s on a chain, I can’t take it with me and there are no other pens available» «…oh. We’ll fill it out when you get back up to the front» Sweet Jesus. After that debacle, I got scolded for not having tape and apparently being an idiot for deciding to use a cardboard box and old paper to use as packing material. I literally walked out after them refusing to let me use the box or the packing paper I had from home even though I was calm and clear that the package was not fragile in the least. Come to think of it, it might not be half bad to watch USPS go bankrupt.

I needed a document to be hired for my new job which my parents had back in California so I asked them to send it to me. The next day my dad puts it in the mail to have it overnighted to me. Four days later it still hasn’t arrived. So, I called the post office that is supposed to have it(3000 Chestnut St.), first they pretended they didn’t have the tracking number for it. Then they hung up on me and then they said they sent out the letter and it was returned to them yesterday. I told them that the letter was never delivered to me, I did not return the letter, nor did I receive a tag saying that they attempted to send the letter. The woman then told me that it didn’t have an apartment number on it and I said I have the reciept and it has the apartment letter on it. She then said«well it’s out today so I should look out for the mailman or put a letter on the door saying that I’m home so he’ll ring the doorbell». To which I told I wasn’t home I was at work and can’t put a letter on the door. So she says«well how are you going to receive the letter it has to be signed for». I told her it was supposed to be delivered on Saturday when I was home and could have signed for it. And she’s just said«well I don’t know what to tell you then». Oh ok, thanks.

For whatever reason this place is always 90 degrees. But what bothers me the most is the line will be backed up all the way to the door and with only one person working. There will be a second girl behind the counter but on «her break». The people who work here typically do not tend to be the nicest either. Although that does not go for everyone. What this post office needs is a self check out system like most of the newer ones. However I’m still a sucker for the flat rate shipping so I will always go to the nearest post office.

Talk about inefficiency! This place needs some major overhaul. The line is always long and waiting time just ridiculous. I also had to get my passport here and the waiting time was about an hour. There were no instructions whatsoever. For example, they don’t say that they only accept cash and check. They should also have a sign that people should come with completed application. There were people who didn’t come with completed application and made us wait while they were completing the application instead of moving on to the next person waiting. The staff move so slowly and without regard to waiting time and there’s only one or two staff working at any time. I give one star because there are a couple nice staff and they’re open on weekends. Customer service needs major improvement! Avoid this place if you want to save time and frustration!

It’s absolutely the most inefficient post office that I’ve ever seen. No matter when you go, there are very long lines and just only couple of staffs are working. Last time when I went there, I ended up waiting in the line to get my package for 1HOUR. Hard to believe it! Even delivery guy said they should hire employee more. Anyways, I don’t recommend you to go to this post office if you have other choices and don’t want to wait too long.

Yes, the pace is very slow at this Post Office. No pens are available and they only utilize one or two workers even though the line is always so long. I have a PO Box here, and it’s convenient because this location is open 24⁄7 for PO Box access. Unfortunately, the packages take double the amount of time to be delivered. For instance, a package I was to receive Priority Mail service took a week to receive even though it only is supposed to take 3 days. It was stuck in Philadelphia for 5 days… Why? Who knows! I avoid using USPS when possible and I think you should too. SLOWSLOWSLOWWWWWWW!

I’m surprised that not more people have commented on how glacially the line moves at this post office. I’ve been to a fair number of post offices, but most places have a ticket machine that gives you a number… not that it would do any good here, since then people would just be milling about and crowding the counter. My two biggest grievances: 1. The aforementioned glacial pace. All I want to do when I go here is scream, «You guys have ONE job! DOITTTT.» The service reps move slowly, talk slowly, peel stamps slowly, and place them on envelopes slowly. They are disgruntled(understandably so), irritated, and mildly hostile toward customers who say nothing because how else are they going to send out mail? 2. This place has NOWORKINGPENS. Every pen chain I saw at the counter was broken with the pen missing. When I busted out my own Dr. Grip ballpoint pen, at least 2 people asked me to borrow it. I don’t know whether the customers are equally at fault for not coming with their packages/envelopes addressed prior to arriving. You should not be in line if you haven’t looked up the zip code for your address or take phone calls while you’re in a 10-person+ line. Needless to say, the line never seems to shrink due to the combination of lackadaisical employees and unprepared, penless customers. Fortunately, this USPS is open until 9 p.m. even on Saturday. My recommendation — if go you must, arrive at 9 a.m. when it opens, or go after 7 p.m.

I’m forced to use this USPS a lot because of its location right near Drexel University. They have met my needs, but it has always been a painful process. I have had my passport done there, picked up packages after several unsuccessful delivery attempts to my house, and mailed items(books, skis, letters). A reoccurring issue is the long wait for any of their services. To pick up a package you must find the 2 part door in the back, wait a long time for someone to answer, and then another wait for them to get your package. The regular line for mailing is always ten people deep and at least 20 to 30 minutes. They only have 2 out of 5 cashiers working, always with a slow and nonchalant attitude. The workers are never smiling or outwardly helpful to you. If you know exactly what you need to do, have all the required documents, and 30 minutes spare time, you probably won’t have any issues.
