Second trip to Tiramisu, both for work dinners. Overall, I think the food is really disappointing. Nothing special, and it always leaves me regretting choosing this place. Service is pretty poor(as several others have mentioned) which doesn’t help matters. At the end of the day, the food simply isn’t worth the price point. Gotta admit though — the pita bread is pretty solid. Overall — look elsewhere for Italian. Will not be returning.

After my second attempt at going to Monk’s, I ended up at Tiramisu. The place was completely empty on a Monday night, which surprised me. My friend swore that he’s been several times, and the food has been great, and so we trusted him. And, the food was not bad. I had the truffled linguine, and it was very flavorful. Their home made linguine was a little over-cooked to my standards — slightly soggy. Echo-ing other reviewers, their bread basket with the pita bread is wonderful! Definitely overdosed on that. Minus a star for the waiter forgetting to box /bring me my leftovers for to go. I guess it was late, and they just wanted to go home.

We should have«listened» to the previous reviews about service because… it SUCKED! As was the wait staff itself, we were initially confused as to who was serving us; because we had two waiters! It was awful. Francesco«chased away» the blonde but that didn’t really do us any good because Francesco really should be the manager. He’s very good at the meet & greet but not so good at service. It took a long time between courses and it took FOREVER to get our check. Glad we had a gift certificate because I’d be really upset if this meal was directly out of our pocket. BTW — the ricotta cheesecake SUCKED so bad I sent it back and Francesco didn’t even think to take it off our check. NEVER again, NEVER!!!

There are a few secrets to this old world Italian restaurant. The first is that not only do they serve their tasty food in their nice dining room but they also serve it in the Jazz Club upstairs. The second secret is that this club is a very well ventilated cigar bar. The third secret is that no one knows about this place yet. The end result was that we received the full experience and enjoyed our victuals while sitting on plush relaxing lounge chairs. Maybe it helped that I started with two boutique bourbons off of their whiskey/bourbon/scotch list. After this I ordered an under priced $ 12 Arturo Fuente Grand Reserve. If you don’t know what this is then you may not appreciate the full value of this place. Doing things backwards as I normally do we ordered food after we were in full relaxation mode. Being that the place was not busy, Sister Sara was more than amazing in her attentiveness. We started with the Caesar salad. It was amazingly tasty, however, I will consider having only a single ¼ cut of a roma tomato weak on my scale. The truth be told most Caesar salads don’t come with any tomato. The second share entrée was the Orecchiette Con Tonno. This delicious dish was shells with tuna, capers, white wine, olives and fresh tomatoes. The tuna was fully cooked and I like it barely cooked but regardless it was a taste orgy. The final shared entrée for us was the Pollo Sorrentino. We devoured this dish like it was newly found drugs at a crack house. They coat the chicken with some flavor and texture that turned us into ravenous dogs. The eggplant was great. I seem to remember it had mushrooms on it but I don’t see that on the menu and it has been a few days. Regardless it was the best entrée of the night and ended a great evening. One more thing, this place isn’t that expensive. The food is definitely less expensive then the drinks. I was quite impressed!

I wasn’t sure about this place since there were quite a few complaints on there service… But I really wanted to give this a shot, thanks to those that gave it 5stars… Impressed… Service was good, very attentive… The pita bread that everyone raved about? SOGOOD. Wish the basket was filled with pita bread! We got the Capellini Marsalino which was delicious, Taguolini Con Salmone was OK., the salmon was a bit on the fishier side. The portions were a bit on the smaller side., felt like it was a lunch portion being served… I would definitely come back again and try some other items on their menu and fingers cross! I hope i get the same lady because I don’t wanna experience bad service!!!

Exceptional Italian cuisine, extraordinary customer Service, and an intimate setting make Tiramisu a winner! Wonderfully creative presentation, exquisite sauces, and tantalizing flavors combine in an extraordinary experience each and every time. Try the antipasti ap, gnocci quatro formaggio, lamb or anything on special, and ALL the deserts. You will thank me(& the talented husband & wife Chef and maitre d team :)

Overall, it’s good, though a little bit expensive. Waiters there are nice and food are delicious. they have valet so no worries about parking at all. I went there with some of my friends during the resturant week and the 3-course tasting menu are fabulous! definitely recommend it~

The food was nothing spectacular. The waiter was rude and full of him self. I expected from such a nice restaurant and centrally located place.

I liked the idea that it looks like a super fancy shmancy place. in the heart of Center City. but it’s not as expensive as one. Good for an impressive date on a relatively low budget(I mean relatively). I liked everything about it with exception of the Jewish Italian Cuisine concept. Clearly it’s not kosher(although our waiter thought it was), and they only have 2 Jewish-like dishes(which makes no sense), but the food itself was good.

An interesting dinner last night. Nothing says dinner out like a trombone player without a mute. Food was tasty but wasn’t what was on the menu or what was ordered. Risotto Primavera was risotto con fungi. Pasta sampler was described as penne with vodka sauce and two others but was a red clam sauce. Tables were very tight and we had our chairs whacked. Staff was very friendly but were a bit harried. We think a busy Saturday night might not be the best showcase for the good food and friendly staff

THE absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. My girlfriend and I LOVE restaurant week because it gives you a chance to try multiple dishes at a reasonable price. This is the first place I have actually felt ripped off financially by a restaurant. During restaurant week for crying out loud! The food tasted like the Atlantic Ocean. Literally, dirty and salty. The service couldn’t have been worse. In fact, it may have been better had they not had a staff on. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years now and this is the first review I have ever written. I only feel obligated to make sure no one else spends a penny here.

Tiramisu definitely has an old-world Italian feel to it, which seemed promising. A group of six of us went for our holiday lunch and there were maybe only one or two other occupied tables. You would THINK that the staff could attend to us, but no such luck. The food was average but may have been better if it hadn’t been so salty. The service, however, was DEPLORABLE. I am still not certain who our actual server was, as two people tended to us but no one seemed to actually take ownership. Orders were incorrect and when we questioned it, we were told, «Well that’s what you ordered. You’re number three and that’s what it says on the slip.» I enjoy being labeled a number about as much as I enjoy oversalted food. We had to ask for basic things like spoons, teabags(yes, we were served cups of hot water minus the teabags) and parmesan cheese(come on, this is an Italian restaurant — we shouldn’t have to ask for Parmesan). Every complaint was met with one of the servers placing blame on someone else(«She handed me the wrong plate» or «She brought the cheese to the wrong table» or «The bartender gave me the wrong soda»). Mildly amusing at first, the blame game quickly wore thin. Luck for them — but unlucky for us – that the bill came complete with an automatic 20% gratuity added. Given the choice we would not have been so generous. It is troubling that this establishment believes that its service is up to the 20% gratuity level. It is also troubling that neither of our«servers» could identify the plates they were bringing to the table. I have watched enough«Restaurant Impossible» to know that every server should be familiar with the dishes. Perhaps Chef Irvine should pay a visit to this place and show them how it’s done …

Very«Godfather”-esque, ultra-formal feel to the restaurant that makes it feel super exclusive and expensive, but it is neither(which is a good thing). The service was among the best and most attentive that I’ve ever had, and I’m NOT easily impressed. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre(which made me all the more thankful that it was inexpensive). I came here with three friends. Two of them ordered the rack of lamb and enjoyed it very much. The other one and I ordered the fettuccine and the four-cheese gnocchi(respectively), which were decent. I’ve had much better. I ended up packing the gnocchi… and it tasted better in the morning than it did in the restaurant after I spruced it up with a little olive oil and salt.(That should *not* be the case.) We also ordered the tiramisu(of course), which was ironically the worst I’ve ever had. The tiramisu cake had apparently been mashed and presented like two scoops of ice cream. Too creative, in my opinion, and just… bleh. I didn’t like the texture at all. If you ask me, tiramisu is meant to be cake and nothing else.

I totally agree that this restaurant looks like something out of the Godfather… LOL. I fell in love with this little place the moment that I walked in the door. Tonight was my first visit for restaurant week, but I will going back again soon. The food is awesome and the service is outstanding.

I expected to see Marlon Brando sitting in a corner. I mean, this restaurant — notwithstanding the great food, could easily double as a set for one of the Godfather movies. It’s got a very unique, and old-Italian style to it. Nothing like your modern, trendy, Northern Itialian-type restaurants; we’re talking old school. Very dated décor, but it goes oddly well with the restaurant. Tiramisu offers its customers an amazing selection. Lots of pasta, meat and fish dishes to choose from. Our table started off with a plate of fried zucchini which was utterly delicious! For entrees, I had one of the grilled chicken plates with vegetables and was equally, if not more delicious than the appetizer. My colleageus ordered veal and a seafood dish, and both were equally pleased with their meals as well. Dessert was, well, what other than a tiramisu and cheesecake — both of which were divine. I can not fault anything about any part of our meal. Everything was fresh, seasoned properly, and cooked to perfection with just the right portions. The courses are properly staggered so that you can enjoy each without feeling rushed. I found the service to be both attentive and prompt in serving our table. Prices are very reasonable. I know I will definitely return. And should you decide to go, don’t be surprised if the theme from Godfather suddely starts to play in your head!

Told we could have the restaurant week menu but on a Saturday and they tried to renigg on the offer. Saw them give one of our party members there chicken way earlier than anyone else’s plate. The chef came over and took it from her and gave it to another table after she stuck we fork in it(at least go back to the kitchen before doing that, come on!) I ordered the lamb chops and was not asked how I wanted it cooked… kind of weird for such an expensive plate to assume Dave and Busters standard temp on what should be a quality meat. After all that I’ll say I won’t be coming back here anytime soon.

I ate here for restaurant week last night. First, I enjoyed the experience overall. The ambiance is lovely and the wait staff was attentive. The food however was only«ok». The dinner just didn’t blow up my skirt. While the Caprese Salad was delish I had higher expectations for my Gnocchi. It was too rich and not quite as al dente as I would have liked. I have had better italian food and not far away from this location. I am glad I tried it out but chances are I will not be back.

My favorite Italian restaurant. I’m no expert, but everyone I have taken here has loved the food. Great wine selection, great service, and wonderful chefs. I stopped eating Italian food after this place because I was so disappointed in the taste and texture of other Italian restaurants.
