I had a couple of drinks at the Irish Bar attached to The Phoenix after work and then left via the back door of the bar, which connected me to the Main Hallway of The Phoenix. Then I left via the front door of the building and went home. Except I couldn’t. A walkie talkie wielding gentleman stopped me, blocked the front door, and WOULDNOTLETMEPASS to exit the building. Really? So I ended up having to backtrack through a noisy bar and exit into the alley. Criminal and fire code implications aside, that’s just creepy behavior.

The fact that they have a suite which is referred to as the«Pat Ciarrocchi Suite» is amazingly hilarious to me. I mean it makes sense, she did/does live there, but the pedestrian ring of it makes it great. This building is fantastic, and once my bank roll is fatter than Cherie Bank, I’ll be living it up here in a penthouse apartment. They have«common» rooms that residents can rent out, which is like having a fully decorated, auxiliary living room. An assortment of shops and Tir Na Nog are just an elevator ride away and you are in the heart of Center City. The only reason it only gets 4 stars is because I need to leave room for improvement as I am sure I haven’t seen aspects that make it even better.
