The Philly Beer School

My fiancé and I took the Homebrewing 101 class last night and it exceeded expectations. Dean was a great instructor who demystified the process and gave a lot of helpful tips, and even offered to taste our beer when we brew our first batch! The 4 flights of 2 beers each, interspersed throughout the evening, represented different aspects of the brewing process– a great way to teach!
I’m normally a pretty stingy person, but I felt I got my money’s worth out of the class– and if it’s any indication of my satisfaction, I just looked at the Philly Beer School’s website and found 2 more classes I want to attend!

Being a local of Fairmount I passed this establishment several times & looked with envy as many individuals inside were tasting beers & wine on various nights. Since both me & my manfriend make believe that we are beer connoisseurs I decided to sign up for the Beer Tasting around the World class as a bday present to my dear love. I believe Dean was his name (from Philly Brewery) led the class and did a wonderful job in explaining where beer came from, similarities & differences between cultures/​regions and presented a fine selection of beers from around the world.
Philly Beer (and Wine) school offers a variety of classes @ a reasonable price. The studio (or classroom) was clean & modern. It is a great idea for presents or something to do with a group of friends/​sweetheart. I will definitely be singing up for more classes… Next up Wine 101!
