Since LaSalle’s food choices leave much to be desired, Fresh grocer is the best(only) choice for decent campus food. Thankfully, they don’t price gouge either. Their salad bar is the highlight as far as I am concerned. $ 6 – 7 gets you a nice salad, one which would cost $ 13 and up at a Whole Foods ridiculous salad bar. They have a good selection of hot prepared food as well. I’ve only ever had the Chinese and that was quite tasty, albeit very greasy. They usually have some sort of traditional meat, potato, vegetable offering as well, but I have never tried that. Fresh Grocer is my spot for sorta healthy college food!

I think I would rather go to Walmart then here. So much for regular neighborhood supermarkets. Wanna know how many employees it takes to get the right bread for the customer that at checkout? Shop here!

Very good grocery store! For many years there were very few grocery stores in the area. It was impossible to find something healthy! This Fresh Grocer is the only place in the area to find healthy food and a variety of options. I use the self-checkout though because the workers are too slow!

I have been here many times since I work in this area of the city a lot. They have one awesome salad bar! Everything is so fresh and they have such a large variety of items to choose from. If you like to build your own salads a Fresh Grocer is for you! And if salads aren’t your thing there’s a hot food station where you can get Chinese, pizza and fried chicken to home style meals. If your looking for a quick sandwich they have them to. With so many options you may never get the same thing twice!

North Philly. Awesome place with second balcony café sitting area. Fresh food! Came once but can’t wait to swing by when I’m near. Great idea for a study /chill out spot. Food open until midnight and they have free wifi!

My overall complaint is about the Customer Service station. Yesterday I called Fresh Grocer around 3pm, I spoke with Shantae. I asked Shantae, one simple question. I asked Shantae, would I be able to purchase Septa tokens with a debit or credit card? Shantae, told me I would be able to. Once I arrived, I walked up to this«helpful» Customer Service person and was met with an attitude and lies. I walked up and said hello and in return I was met with a grimace. I told Shantae, I would like to purchase tokens, she responded with a curt«you need to go to the coffee bar.» I then went to purchase the tokens and this young lady at the coffee bar was very helpful, she told me I would have to use cash. I told this young lady, what Shantae told me over the phone and she responded by saying I am not sure why Shantae told you that, I will let her know that token purchases must be with cash. Please avoid Shantae like the plague. Shantae is rude. Because of this attitude, I will take my money elsewhere. Thanks Shantae for making me waste gas and time! You’re such a doll, not.

As far as the Fresh Grocer chain goes… this one is ok — I say that SLOWLY and with some hesitation. I feel that it’s layout allows me to feel more at ease than the 56th St, 40th St & the horrible Chelten Ave locations. I used to go for the large hoagies, now I am more interested in some of the brands that they carry(Diet Swiss Tea) — I don’t always want to go to Wal-mart for that… I hope they keep it clean and keep the service speedy. I’ll keep you posted.
