Crocodile is no longer Crocodile. I haven’t been back since it changed; not sure if I want to. Still have that weird crocodile association in my mind and places like this usually change into something I prefer to stay far, far away from. So yeah, crocodile was… weird. Truly had an identity crisis. It was a dive bar wrapped in a club wrapped in a rave wrapped in a box of Totino’s frozen pizza( ). I’m not gonna lie, it was cool to get a free small pizza with every single beer purchase; great when out partying. But the ambiance(if I may be so bold to use that word) I can only liken to a dark warehouse. Hey, who cares? It’s a moot point now, because the Croc is no longer…

This place no longer has free pizza! WTF!!! We went here at the end of February for my friend’s going away party, and of course the bar had gone under new management the day prior. This is so disappointing, as there are a few bars similar to this in NYC and I guess they were test running it here in Philly. Yes, the pizza wasn’t that great, but it was free pizza that came with your beer. Also, the bartender was kind of a jerk and too self important to wait on us. The bar only had a few patrons, and we brought a group of around 15 people, and basically had to flag him down to get his attention every single time we needed a drink. Totally ridiculous! Well, they definitely lost me as a customer!

I heard about this place and was surprised to discover it’s extremely close proximity to other bars I frequent in Old City. It’s kind of across from Triumph, but down a little further, so I’ve always missed it. I’m always up for a new experience, and they apparently served you free pizza with every drink, so I thought I would give it a try. Overall, i’m not a fan. The drinks were cheap($ 2 bud light drafts), and the pizza rumor was true, but the pizza was really not good at all. The crowd was just kind of… weird. No other way to explain it. And they had this DJ/Drummer combo that didn’t really make much sense to me at all. I heard they just got new management, so maybe I will give it one more try.

I was told about Crocodile, and I was excited about«free pizza» with every drink I bought! Hmmmm, then I bought my drink, and asked the bartender, a largely man more interested in talking with his friends by the main entrance. My date and I requested our pizza along with our drinks, and waited. Then waited. Then waited even longer. At this time we reminded our bartender, who responded«Oh sure, you got it.» We could tell by this point that he didn’t care about us at all. Combine this with the fact that the music was so loud I couldn’t hear myself think, and you have yourself… One upscale, mediocre bar.

If u wear ridiculously printed tshirts or even dress shirts, you will fit in perfectly here. Oh and hair gel?! Dude what the ef?! Hair gel is so 90’s, use fucking styling paste or pomade jeez. Anyway, good music, decent eyecandy, minus passed out chick in white and black dress, and free personal pizzas what??? I have a feeling the floor upstairs may soon fall. Ve careful!

Crocodile has probably the most friendliest bartenders in Old City. They’re not grodgy pessimistic blah drunks. They’re amicable and hilarious. This place NEVER has a cover and their drinks are inexpensive. Plus, as mentioned a million times, there’s free pizza. I love their picklebacks, especially their different versions — like the Timmy. OR Timmaayyyy as they call it. It sounds weird, I know. But the pickle juice really does balance out the whiskey. All for less than $ 10? Yea definitely worth it. Just make sure to tip your bartenders!

Cheap drinks. Lots of pickle based shots!?! Free pizza. The pizza is thin and flavorless but the price is right. Good place for a first date if you have low expectations or she is a lush.

Strolling Old City just minutes before the Phillies were about to start, we ducked into Crocodile because it didn’t look too crowded, the game was on, and there wasn’t a line of freshly-turned 21-year-olds clad in sparkly shirts and mini skirts forming out the door. We nabbed seats at the bar and the bartender informed us of the specials: $ 3 everything and a free pizza with every drink ordered. Whaaaaa?! I spied the craft beer list, ordering a $ 6 Exit 4, challenging the bartender to only charge me half of that… and he did. AND he threw in the personal pizza to go with it. As the game started, more people continued to trickle in, and by the time the first run was scored, there was a jovial crowd developing to cheer on our boys on several flat screens that ran the full length of the bar. So okay, the pizza wasn’t great. My group and I decided it’s just a touch above skating rink pizza. However, they give you all the fixin’s you can sprinkle and again, it’s free! When all was said and done, we got out of there having lapped up 2 craft beers, a top shelf cocktail, 4 domestic brews and 3 mini pies for just $ 21. This has got to be the best happy hour/Phillies special deal in Old City.

Came here with some out of town friends to try the new place out. Bounds of potential! Saturday night– was not very crowded, but enough people to make a party. Have not had the pizza yet but want to try it. Whoever the DJ is on Saturday night is just SICK!!! We couldn’t stop dancing and he really knew what he was doing. Can’t wait to come back.

Saturday night wasn’t as crowded as I expected for Old City. The girls really liked the seemingly endless free pizzas. They came with the drinks… the pizzas, not the girls.(A certain amount of food has to be served if alcohol is being served? Silly Pennsylvania!) $ 14 medium sized fishbowls. It was someone’s birthday party, I can’t remember who, but the DJ played all her requests plus the requests I showed him via text message. I appreciate someone who can mix top 40 well. This DJ was above average with his bag of tricks. The sound and lights were aimed wrong but still filled the space nicely. There really isn’t room to complain when the dance floor had a perfect amount of space and there’s a bar in the front, the back, and table service. I’d go back. Actually… I think we’re stopping by this weekend. Good for groups, and bonus points for a friendly bouncer.

5 words: So long manayunk, hello crocodile! As I attempt to escape the somewhat typical college party scene and try to be remotely classy for once in my life, I stumbled across The Crocodile. I didn’t have many high expectations to begin with, as a matter of fact, my only expectation was to get free pizza with my drink and that was fulfilled almost immediately after I ordered a couple fish bowls with my friends. I was surprised at the door when my flashing of ID to the bouncer was not reciprocated with a stamp to my hand and $ 5.00 less in my pocket. Thank goodness for no cover establishments! The initial atmosphere at 10 pm was quite laid back, a small mass of people crowding the bar area but the entire expanse of the place was not uncomfortably jammed packed by any means. By 1130, or 12 the dancefloor filled up pretty nicely as the DJ was spinning what I would probably consider a very legit A game. So, free pizza, tasty drinks, awesome music and dancefloor– what more can I say for? Well… perhaps to have them kick up the quantity of liquor in my drinks another notch or two but besides that– fannntastic!

Free pizza with every order? Yes! There’s no cover and it’s a great place to dance. We ordered two fishbowls, which tasted good but weren’t very strong. The pizzas were small and surprisingly good for being free. It was pretty empty at the beginning of the night, but there was a good crowd after we came back from meeting some friends elsewhere.

This place is a breath of fresh air in Old City. Not only do they have unbelievable specials and Svedka on well, but they have free pizza(which is damn good even when not wasted). Bartenders and great(Mayo and Sam are smokin hot to make it more enticing) and management know to bring in a hot, young crowd. Definitely a stop for the local or passer through. I highly recommend checking it out.

This place has potential to be a pretty cool spot in Old City — the downstairs is dim-lit with a green ambiance. It looks and feels like a cool place to have a few drinks at. They also serve small pizzas for free, which is absolutely awesome. So you can stop by here have a drink or two and grab a pizza. They also have an upstairs that gives off more of a club vibe, specifically the music played and they also have lounge-ish couches upstairs as well. The only issue is the both times I have gone there the place has been pretty empty. I believe a little more promotion for the bar would do wonders.

Get a free margarita pizza with every beer you order. 4LCDTV’s for sports. Touch screen juke box and the bar plays music when you don’t.

I came over here after starting off the night someplace else, and just wanted a quick bite to eat with my nightcap. The Crocodile concept comes from NYC, and revolves around inexpensive drinks and free pizza. That’s it. The space is nice, the bartenders are friendly. The pizza is free, so there’s no complaining there. It’s fine for the price. Obviously, the rule for cheap pizza stands here — eat it while it’s hot, and you’re all good.
