I enjoy eating here. Been here sever are times. The bathrooms are clean, although it’s so dark in there for me lol. The food is okay honestly, I usually go around lunch time and it’ll be about 10 $ a person which is pretty cheap in my opinion. Nice variety of food options also.

Not only is the price low, but the size of the buffet is amazing! Plus, there’s a grill and noodle bar for some custom dishes. Want sushi and chicken wings? Of course you do! Pizza and noodle soup? Why not?!

By far our favorite chinese buffet. Huge variety: chicken, pork, beef, seafood, soups, and salads(both oriental and standard American preparations). Table after table of hot, steaming food, replenished continually. I heap my plate with seafood salad, kim chi, squid, pepper chicken and two different crab dishes(walking by many other possibilities). My spouse walks straight to the back to get her stir-fry: a mound of shrimp and vegetables prepared as she watches. It’s fun to watch other diners attack the roast beef, pizza, ribs, and ice cream. The price is reasonable(senior discounts apply, and newspaper coupons are frequent) and the service quick and friendly. Not the most sophisticated food – but if you want a delicious, almost overwhelming buffet, I recommend Teppanyaki.

I’m a tough reviewer and especially hard on poor hygiene — take a look at my posting history for yourself. So when I give this place a 4-star, you can believe its good. Ignore the posts going on about quality, the Chinese Buffet thing Is simply NOT about the quality of the food. If you expect Chinatown quality on Oregon in South Philly you need to put away what you’re smoking! There is simply no way any restaurant could economically provide top flight quality in an all-you-can-eat buffet. Teppanyaki is relatively clean compare to plenty of other places and the quantity/variety to price ratio is huge. Sure you could probably drive up to Star East in Princeton, but you’ll pay a lot more for their buffet(including tolls/gas etc) and its hit and miss if you every really get the quality you paid. But the bottom line is iff you want stomach cramping value for money in Philly — this is the place to go. Teppanyaki is about just one thing — pile the plate high and cram it in hard and repeat until your abdominal region is distended until the point of bursting. The food just has to meet a minimum standard to enable that — which it definitely does at this place. The owners etc are very friendly and service OK for non-native English speaking staff. The complaints about service are due to the rough local customers … you know the South Philly blue collar types who pretty much need to be served with a tough but firm hand — these are the people that look upon the Jersey Shore lifestyle as aspirational. Give the locals an inch, they’ll take a mile — thats what inner city living does to you. But if you’re a professional or middle class(they can assess you quickly) you’ll get great service here, just don’t worry about it. Buffet is packed with proteins and starches. Particularly great is the heaping piles of fresh fried fish. I’m amazed that this tray is always sufficiently filled. Lots and lots of shrimp and pounds and pounds of roast beef, ham etc. Theres also fried chicken, big fatty chunks of Kielbasa(for the local Polski’s I assume) and the usual chicken nuggets for kids. Its a huge place, you’ll never get an issue finding a table — although I haven’t been when a Chinese tour bus has pulled off from the I-95. You can also get the take out cartons here. Final recommendation: skip lunch(or have some fruit) eat around 7pm and PACKITINATTEPPANYAKI.

Price was very low to me. A variety of food can be tried in this restaurant. Not that tasty but good enough. Sushi is excellent.

This place is a joke honestly. They have no respect for the customers and they have really bad service. The boss and staff is very rude and they don’t even have fresh food lol. Just putting it out there for you. And most of them don’t understand english so you could have a bigger problem with them. And what’s so hard about seating? Lol it’s not that hard to sit people down together with their friends and have separate checks. They are stupid I never heard of a policy where customers can’t seat with their group and eat together? Like where did you get that from? That’s a really dumb lie and stupid lie too.

I agree with Nicey and Leigh. This is an amazingly inexpensive buffet with a huge selection of Asian and non-Asian food. Not high-end restaurant food, but it is quite decent for the price. I haven’t tried everything(that would be a big project!!), but have not had anything that was problematic. It seems to be a problem with all buffets that they sort of ration out the highly desirable foods like sushi and crabs, and there is the«stalking animal» situation that Leigh described. I can understand why the restaurants don’t bring out large quantities at a time because some people are such PIGS and won’t leave anything for anyone else. Interior is serviceably attractive. As far as service, it’s been really busy when I’ve been there; I can’t really say the service was noticeably good or bad; it was adequate.

The service here is great. They have a hibatchi grill and sushi bar. Went here a few years back and came here yesterday and it’s totally different — in a good way. They totally remodeled the place — adding a hibatchi grill, sushi bar, new icecream box, a long salad bar and a dessert bar. It’s lovely. The interior is nicely decorated as well. Customers are able to enjoy a very modern and chic environment while dining with friends and family. The food here is good, I especially like the seafood they offer, but wished they offered more like snow crab legs.

This place is tucked away inside of a shopping strip in south philly. Meaning there is ample parking ! Woohoo the space is very large inside where they not only have many of the usual Chinese/American buffet eats but they also have a sushi section with a guy making it fresh right where you can see him. There is also a hibachi section where you choose your own foods to go within and it’s made right on the spot– Beside that there is a phở station where you choose your own ingredients. Downside there was only 1 guy working both stations on a Saturday. Which leads me to believe that that is probably always the case. The phở isn’t veg friendly as the broth selection is only beef and chicken. There are also no veg proteins in this section either. The servers leave much to be desired as we received water 1 time, and they never refilled our glasses. They also took our cups when we left and never really returned. All in all I’d go back, next time I’ll bring my own soy sauce as they do not carry gluten free soy sauce here. But with the ridiculously low price(like it was 18 $ after taxes for 2 adults and 1 child) I think they didn’t charge for my son because he is only 2 which us awesome. Great deal, and the food was yummy!

This place is horrific. I’ve been here twice and each time it was the same experience. Ugh. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like MOST of the Chinese buffets in the city have gone really downhill since I was younger, which is why I am apprehensive about frequenting them. The last time I went to this one, there were flies partaking in the sushi, which really upset me b/c I wanted some. Ahh well, moving along, everything else that I put on my plate was lackluster. I don’t expect gourmet chinese from the neighborhood buffet, but I do expect it to be at least as good as my neighborhood takeout place. This was not. The best part of the buffet were the chinese sweet donuts and the beef & broccoli. Everything else either looked or tasted old or spoiled. I left hungry and wound up picking up Chipotle on the way back home. This would have to be the ONLY thing open for me to come back. :-(

Whoa Whoa Whoa. Like really, people are seriously expecting way too much out of a $ 10 buffet. This place is pretty amazing for the price. I say that because there’s so many options here that there is bound to be something for everyone. Seriously. I honestly would give this place 3.5 stars but since that isn’t an option that’s how it got the bump to 4. I liked that there was a large sushi bar, however, it felt like I had to linger around the area in order to get any really good looking pieces. It was like animals stalking their prey in the wild how quickly the sushi disappeared once it was bought out. Definitely wanted to bring out your inner mountain lion because the bottom of the food chain definitely gets the scraps in this situation! Where I found that this place shined was in the the other speciality bars. I absolutely loved the soup in which you could choose a base, spice, meat, etc. it’s very rare that you can customize options in a buffet setting so that was a lovely option to me. For your friend that comes to a Chinese buffet(*side eyes*) to eat American there’s a considerable amount of options ranging from pizza to fried chicken. Desserts are typical expected items(ice cream — scoop not soft serve, assorted pastry/cakes, fruit) and we’re all so so. Nothing to write home about nor complain. I found everything to be rather clean. There is a lot of staff presence and nothing really goes unnoticed in this place. On top of already being surprisingly cheap, this place also often coupons(I think I found mine in the metro) that gives you a small value off 2 adult dinners. I don’t believed they advertise it, but if asked they also offer a10% discount for senior citizens. I think if you’re realistic about how far $ 10 goes these days you’d be somewhat pleased enough with the options offered here(albeit I’ve never been here and encountered rotten crabs because I must say I’d be out for the count then as well) in order to find what works for you. I’d check it out and if you don’t like it, hey — it’s only 10 bucks. Most people spend that on meals at McDonalds these days! Don’t come here if you’re super picky expecting a fancy gourmet buffet cause this just ain’t it! If you’re looking for a solid place with plenty of options for everyone you give it a shot and check it out!

I would stay away from this place. My friend got very sick from eating here but I was ok because I stayed away from any sushi, fish, and raw veggies/fruits. We should have known it would have been that way after we saw many flies all over the stirfry and some other dishes. A great place to go if cleanliness is not a priority.

On 4÷13÷14, I came here for the first time and found a freaking ROCK the size of 2/3s of a thumb in my hot and sour soup. I uploaded a photo of it on here. It was the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to me in a restaurant. I couldn’t eat anything there anymore upon discovery. The waiter and manager were both scratching their heads as I knocked my spoon on it, proving them that it was a rock straight from the earth. The waiter apologized to me profusely, only to inform me later on that I would only have to pay half price. REALLY? My mom was with me and she flipped out on him. I could have really hurt myself with it by choking or chipping a tooth. Who knows where it even came from and if there were other fragments in the pot? They took the rock to show the chef and FINALLY the waiter came back around telling me that I do not have to pay at all, but that my mom had to pay full price still. Ridiculous. She easily could have gotten that same bowl of soup. PEOPLE, I seriously do not recommend coming here. It’s no wonder why this exact location is constantly being closed down and reopened up as a buffet with a different name slapped on it. DONOTRISKYOURHEALTH. Who knows what else could go wrong in here?

You’ve reached the end of South Philly. A cheap buffet awaits you, which is great when you feel like pigging out & lounging around after you turned into piglet-OINK OINK! Piglets may feed at the Phở bar, Hibachi bar, Sushi bar & more! This is a place to just come to eat and eat for fun. Nothing extremely gourmet here so if your are picky about taste this is not really your place. If you’ve earned your rite of passage & transitioned from a piglet to a sow/boar, then instead try the further destination buffets in Northeast which taste better but will require you to drive there possibly stuck in 95N traffic on an empty stomach. Or you can head to AC for the expensive casino buffets. OINKOINK. :-P I come here mainly for mussels(iron craving days) and california rolls with pickled ginger and wasabi and just to chit chat with friends when we dont feel like cafes or we come to study, in the past. They dont throw us out here and we used it like a café which is really great for long periods of studying! Since I dont eat any other seafood nor any other type of sushi… this place is just right. Oink oink. Yours truly, Unilocal Piglet.

I tend to be star heavy when it comes to reviews but this place stole my faith in redemption. Holy mackerel! Never in my life have I ever seen gray crab. These people have got to be kidding me.

Some days I get home from work and I just want me some Chinese buffet. Last Friday was one of those days. My fiancé and I heard from a friend that a new place opened up not too long ago and we decided to give it a try. Enter Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet. The food variety is pretty standard with the exception of a few hibachi options, large hunks of carving meats, and noodle bar. My general plan of attack is to go up and try small amounts of everything then go back for a second plate of all the items that received the taste bud stamp of approval. Unfortunately, when I went back up for my second plate, I realized that very few items made the cut. This place has potential but just didn’t do it for me. I’ll pay the extra $ 4 and go to Ruby Buffet on Del. Ave. The food just wasn’t good enough to bring me back.

My family wanted to try this place because we really liked the buffet this space was before this. The price is also pretty good. There is also a pretty wild selection of food, sushi and desserts. They have this giant ham that you can crave like it’s Thanksgiving. HOWEVER … The food isn’t very good; cousins says«it’s plain bad.» The mango water ice is melted before and refrozen and was bad. The clams«were not kid friendly but are adult friendly» because my cousin didn’t like it but the adults did. And at the end, our waitress gave us the check and stood there staring at my uncle take out his wallet and pay. We were talking about tip, that was already included in the bill because there was 11 of us, but she goes and tells him that it wasn’t enough. What?! Then as he was figuring it out, she snatched the check and money and walked away. Girl… So in the end… I will not willingly come back here.

Went here tonight with a girlfriend from high school. Interior is beautiful to begin with Waitresses were friendly and made sure our plates were taken, we constantly had refills(free by the way). As for the food, excellent. Very fresh. It sounds like a lot, but, I only took a couple samplings of each. I had: –mussels –stuffed shrimp –stuffed clams –calamari –sushi –fried portabellos –an eggroll –cheese sticks(basically mozarella sticks) –watermelon –honeydew mellon Came to about $ 23 for the two of us after taxes and what not. Would definitely come again.
