First time there and most certainly won’t be my last! Bar hopping around the Mayfair area and my boyfriend and I found this hidden jem. AMAZING STAFF, GREAT SMALL SOCIABLE CROWD. Military/​marine themed. Loved it! Stopping back there this weekend to celebrate my birthday! Cheers, ooh rah.

This is a very local bar, very small and takes cash only. The bartender was super friendly! She made us drinks on her while it was only our first time there. The bartender who is also the owner of the bar made sure we were all okay when taking shots and mixing light/​dark alcohol. My friends and I have never been to a bar where the bartender actually cared. Although it’s very local and small, doesn’t serve food, the hospitality of the bartender was amazing. The drinks were pretty cheap as well! Overall, if you’re just looking for something local to do with friends, I’d recommend this place!

Great bar and great owner. Great atmosphere. Plus the owner is from south philly which means she is awesome person. Better come here, because if you want to be where someone knows your name. Than come to Tailhook. I swear you will feel like home.

The Hook is Great. You feel very safe in there with all the military and police officers who frequent the Hook.

A bar that makes you feel at home. Prices here are very low, and one couldn’t ask for better service. There are a decent crowd of people that come through. If you’re the kind of person that enjoys talking with your company without having to scream, it’s never too loud here. The place is well lit, always clean and with plenty of street parking in the area. The bar is decorated with military memorabilia. If you would like to experience an authentic military ceremony, this is the place to go. Every year the bar owner celebrates the services’ birthdays’ where a traditional military cake cutting ceremony is conducted!

This was the best dive bar I’ve been to in a while. The prices were better than reasonable and the bar was very comfortable. Being a Navy veteran, the military décor made me feel very much at home. I was there with a few friends of mine and we all had a great time. The bartender Marie was extremely nice and welcoming.

We love the Tailhook. We live in North Jersey, but my best friend lives in Mayfair. Even though we can’t get down there all the time, Marie always remembers who we are and greets us with a hug, that’s how well she knows her customers! It doesn’t get any better than the Tailhook, perfect little dive bar that feels like home.

Easily the best little tavern in Mayfair. Marie runs a great bar with a military theme. An excellent place to watch sports and, once a month or so, enjoy karaōke night! Great clientele, great service, and good times await one and all at the Tailhook. Don’t miss this place!

Cheap beer and friendly service in a clean and safe environment. Ask Marie for a hotdog– Dietz and Watson dog on a potato bun with chips for $ 1. If you ask nicely, she’ll give you the chinese mustard and some spicy pickle slices. The Devines run a great business and make their regulars feel like family. When in Mayfair, go here.
