Steak & Hoagie Works

Used to be good, now it’s just awful. Sloppy, soggy, poorly made sandwiches. Only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the gentleman at the front counter was courteous.

So I ordered tonight because I wasn’t in the mood to cook. What happened to this place? Why did they change the name? Fresh works now. The rolls at one time were so good, tonight mine not so much. I haven’t ordered from here in roughly 3 years but I wanted something different.
I ordered a cheesesteak, it was so soggy! I even ordered the roll toasted. Keep in mind I didn’t order anything to make it soggy. It was also very small, $ 8.25 and it was tiny. A lot smaller then what they once were.
I also got a small order of wings. I love wings! Who doesn’t? But I always order them well done, always. I like them crispy. Again I was let down. The wings were soaked in sauce! I hate when I order well done wings and there is a bowl of sauce in the platter. Their sauce has always been good, they do a hot sauce/​blue cheese mix.
The one bright side is the delivery was fast. Sadly I’m officially done with this place. I won’t order again, well maybe in a few years? Only time will tell.

Very small sandwich almost like a cheesesteak on a hotdog role this is not a real steak shop !!!

Ordered from here twice and never will again. Both times my order was wrong upon delivery and it took 55 minutes for my food to get there and then another 50 minutes for the right food to actually came along. Order else where.

When I used to come home from college this is the first place I would to go. Their food is very popular among my friends and the people that work there are friendly and efficient. Their buffalo chicken cheesesteak is my favorite item and the half size is huge and plenty of food.

Always a great sadnwich. This time cheese steak with roasted red peppers!!! Highly recommended!!!

Last time I order from this establishment! Went last week to pickup my order and watch as employee’s handle food without wearing latex gloves. After the one worker making hoagies stop to clean up spilled soup he went right back to making hoagies without even washing his hands. The other person handling food was also answering the phone and working the computer. Again never bothering to wash their hands. I’m done!

The Steak & Hoagie Works is one of the few restaurants in my area that accepts orders over
, so I tried it one day. I got a salad and a turkey burger (½ b/​c their sandwiches are huge and are on long rolls). The food was good enough — not the best, but pretty good. However, I am only giving them 3 stars because it took FOREVER for my food to arrive, and I only live a few minutes away (probably 7 – 10 minutes). I was hungry when I placed my order, but I was starving by the time the food arrived, and I had to heat it up because the burger was a bit cold by the time I got it. I probably won’t order from here again because there are other, closer sandwich shops where I can get a steak, burger, or hoagie that have better food and faster service.
