I used Schwartz Hardware last summer to install a new double cylinder lock for a basement door. The Quickset lock was the same price as Lowes($ 20) and the service call with 2 keys was $ 45(although that might change). The installer Rick was a pleasure to have in the house. Neat and professional, he liked explaining what he was doing and offered hints on how to install the item yourself. I’d definitely do business with Schwartz again and in doing so we’re supporting a local Philly business. If you buy the same lock from Lowes, the closest they’ll get to installing the lock in your door is selling you the installation jig for $ 20. Then you get to drill the holes yourself and hope that the deadbolt actually aligns with the strike plate. Here Rick shows you how to do it and everything works smoothly afterwards. And the owner, Mr. Schwartz, is respectful of his customers and works to remember their names, an old fashioned touch.
