BOTTOMLINE: PROS: Great for dry-cleaning! Reasonable prices! Gets out tough stains, doesn’t damage sometimes finicky fabrics! WARNINGS: I personally wouddn’t go to them for tailoring or re-hemming(thought I have limited experience with them for this), and when you take your dry-cleaning there, plan on it taking a few days longer than you might be used to at other cleaners. MOREDETAILEDREVIEW: I moved to Philly a little over a year ago and I live in the Port Richmond/Fishtown area, and this has become my go-to dry cleaners for all of my dresses and nicer sweaters/slacks. They are really reasonably priced, really nice, and they have gotten stains out that I never would have dreamt possible.(I’m a teacher coach, and I travel around to various schools, working with teachers – I was in one teachers’ classroom and a kid has colored the metal try under the desk with a red marker, so when I sat with my knee bumped up against the metal tray, I came away with my white dress smeared with red-ink – they got it out!) When I come in with my pile of dresses/skirts/sweaters, the woman always spends her time with me going over each piece of clothing and putting a little sticker on stains and sometimes she finds stains I had forgotten about or never noticed and makes sure they get out without ruining the fabric. I’m giving it five stars mostly to help off-set the 1 star review. I think I’d ideally give it 4 stars – nothing special, but gets the job done and usually does it pretty darn well and for a relatively good cost. A few words of advice/warning: (1) – Tailoring/hemming: I’m not sure I’d try to do any tailoring there. I had a hem that had fallen out of a skirt, and asked them to re-hem it, and while it looked nice and invisible stitching, it just fell right back out again within 2 – 4 wears. (2) Timing: Also,(in reference to the 1 star review) – I have noticed that they tend to take a bit longer than other dry cleaners I’ve gone to in the past, so while I’ve never asked for a tight turn-around, I’ve found that they generally say it can be ready by 3 – 5 business days later.(Example, I took some stuff in on a Wednesday that I thought I might want to wear that weekend, and then they said the following Tuesday – which was fine, I had other clothes to wear, but was a little surprised at how long it would take just for dry-cleaning).

Was in a pinch and needed to get some suit pants altered. She asked what day I needed them back, I said Thursday and my ticket said Thursday. Well after arrive around 6:30 pm on Thursday to find that my pants were not ready, I was extremely upset. These were pants that I needed for the next day. Clean up the place and don’t guarantee work you can’t complete.

We’ve been here countless times to get suits and dresses dry cleaned. A regular suit costs $ 10.50 to have cleaned. It’s perfect because the minimum for a credit card charge is $ 10.00, so even for the simple things you shouldn’t have a problem using their swipe machine and having to worry about bringing cash to avoid an extra fee. They’ve also repaired my husband’s suit pants several times. They’ve re-attached the belt loop to his pants and repaired his ripped pockets. You’d never know anything was wrong to start upon picking the garments up. They also typically turn around your clothes much quicker than they tell you they will. You shouldn’t be surprised if your stuff is ready 24 hours or more before they tell you it will be. Just call and ask!
