Ryan Offer, MD

Dr. Ryan Offer is great. She is friendly, professional and takes the time to listen to you. I have had 2 bad gyno experiences in the past and always get very nervous for my annual exam. Dr. Offer puts me at ease with her calm demeanor and is gentle and understanding. I am so grateful I found her and can’t say enough good things about her. Other OBGYN’s have left me crying in pain and I’ve been to Dr. Offer twice now without any discomfort, so obviously it was the Dr.‘s who were being too rough and not a problem with me! I would highly recommend her to any woman especially younger women. Thank you.

What woman really likes to go to the GYN? I read all of the reviews of the various GYN’s listed on Unilocal and decided that if the only low reviews given Dr. Offer were because of appointment challenges or perceived rudeness, but that every single woman who went to Dr. Offer, couldn’t say enough about her demeanor, insight, intelligence and follow-​up, I wasn’t going to let a minor challenge of getting into see her stop me from a long overdue visit. Dr. Offer, I discovered practices at two sites, one just off Rittenhouse Square and one on Shurs Lane in Manayunk.
Manayunk had the earlier opening, so I took it. The parking on the street and free, the office is really lovely, must have been a former factory or something, lots of exposed brick, high ceilings and interesting artwork.
I found the staff to be very efficient, kind and thorough. When Dr. Offer entered the exam room, it was like looking at an add for Pantene Hair Products, this very smart woman is also very beautiful with great hair.
She has this quiet way about her, listening, asking very good questions, and taking plenty of time to answer all of my questions. I never felt rushed or demeaned for some of past history answers. This doctor is in one word genuine.
I had a call from Dr. Offer several days post exam to go over some lab findings, she picked up on something my primary should have, so I guess her intelligence runs neck and neck with her genuine, understated approach.
I will never worry again about my female health issues as long as Dr. Offer is in the Philadelphia area, I will be her patient.

Based on this year’s scheduling experience, I need to downgrade my rating a bit. I called in April for a June appt. I was told June was booked. Ok then how about July? I was told the July schedule wasn’t up yet and to call back. I called back a few days later: no luck, was told to call back in 2 weeks. I did, no luck, was told to call back in 2 weeks. I did, no luck, was told to call back that Thursday. I waited (assuming they’d need more time than that, based on my previous calls) and called back that Friday and was FINALLY able to make an appt for July. Unfortunately, half of July had already been booked (I shouldn’t have waited that extra day to call!). Whatever, I took what I could get. Two weeks before my appt, I got a call and was told that I have to reschedule. Are you fucking kidding me? After all that?!? Luckily they had another slot open that week that fit with my work schedule. Whew.
Dr. Offer herself continues to get 5 stars from me. As usual, she was warm, friendly and informative. I had a lot of questions during my visit and she took the time to answer them thoroughly. I always arrive about 15 minutes before my appointment and am always taken back on time. If only they would improve their scheduling process!

I was searching for an OBGYN in the city and I knew I wanted a female but, I didn’t know who to go to. I took my chances and went to Dr. Offer. She is a wonderful OBGYN who is very pleasant and makes you feel very comfortable. My first time going to her was for an annual appointment her and I don’t want to go anywhere else. Every time I have encountered the office staff, (through the phone or in person) they have always been so kind and helpful. Dr. Offer is highly recommended and so is her staff!

I saw Dr. Offer once, and she was great. However, her office staff is absolutely terrible. Every single time I call, they are «in the process of setting the calendar» which is never available. Way too much time wasted trying to schedule a 10 min appointment for my annual.
Sorry, but this staff is just awful.

Alright so after my most recent experience with Dr. Offer’s office, I think I need to lower my review a bit. I called with a concern and left a message and when I didn’t receive a return call within 3 days, I called back. I was told that Dr. Offer was on vacation. I was a bit confused… I had a medical concern… shouldn’t I receive a call back from another practitioner? Basically I ended up waiting on hold for 45+ minutes total and having to call back 5 times just to be told no one could see me until the following week. Still 5 stars for Dr. Offer herself, but a 2-​star ding for the inefficiency of the office.

Dr. Offer is the best doctor I ever had. She gives you all the knowledge you need to make well educated decisions, but doesn’t try to force her beliefs on you about anything. She is extremely supportive and understanding and listens to all your questions. She will be my doctor for life.

My experience at Dr. Offer’s was bittersweet. I made my appointment in July. In between then and the actual date of the appointment (a month’s time), I had an appointment with my primary care physician who mentioned that SHE sees Dr. Offer. Needless to say, my trust and expectations in Dr. Offer greatly increased, especially with such good Unilocal reviews.
I went for my actual appointment, and the intake nurse was very friendly. She informed me that before Dr. Offer was going to come in, a medical student would be coming in to ask me some questions. She let me know that he was male, and asked me if I was okay with that. I agreed, but also asked her if the male student would also be there for the actual exam, to which she said no, he would leave. I replied, «Okay, that’s good.»
The male student came in, asked me questions about my health, what was happening, and why I came in (routine visit, just a pap smear), and left. He was nice enough, but I was glad he wouldn’t be in the room while my feet were in the stirrups. I chose a female obgyn for a reason – I feel more comfortable when it’s a woman and not a man down there.
Then, Dr. Offer came in the room for my exam. AND SO DID THE MALE STUDENT. AND THE INTAKE NURSE. I was a bit confused, and not sure what was going on, and before I knew it, the exam was happening. That’s right, three people got to stare at me with my feet up in the stirrups. I suppose I could have spoken up and asked that my nether regions not be made into a spectacle (three’s a crowd, after all), but my head was swimming and I suppose my disbelief kept my mouth shut.
Dr. Offer was knowledgeable, polite, and I felt in good hands with her as my doctor, but the fact that the intake nurse outright LIED to me when I asked her if the male med student would be in the room during the exam was horrible. If future visits entail just me and the doctor, and less of an audience, everything will be wonderful, and Dr. Offer will get the 5 stars from me that SHE deserves. But if I’m again told there will not be a male student in the room during my exam and one shows up, I may walk out on the spot. In a paper gown.
tl;dr — If you’re uncomfortable with a male in the room during your exam, SPEAK UP EARLY.

Going to the gynecologist is never anybody’s favorite thing to do, but Dr. Offer and her associates (from the other docs to the nurses to the office staff) are just wonderful. I always learn something new about women’s health when I visit the office because everybody there is so very knowledgeable and so very open-​minded.
The practice itself is efficient and organized, but make sure you call well in advance to get an appointment because it’s quite a busy place!

The people who schedule her appointments are so rude– that I won’t be back.

I’ve also had a great experience with Dr. Offer. She is soft-​spoken and takes time to answer questions. The other women who work at the office are also welcoming, kind, and informative. I’ve only been to see her twice for annuals, but I already feel I can trust her if anything comes up.

I am so happy with Dr. Offer! After moving to Philly and having to find a NEW gyn I was nervous; I had had a bad experience with a previous gyn in this area and left there to go to Dr. Offer.
She was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable (well, as comfortable as one can feel in a gyn appt!) I felt as if I had known her for years and it was only my first appointment. She was very easy going and not pushy at all (like some gyns can be).
I have revisited the office this year and she has been just as great.
Wait time in the office both times has been under 10 minutes and the first time was only so I could fill out paper work! The visit is quick and I was able to go on my lunch break and get right back to work with time to spare. Staff at the front desk were all friendly and nurses were great too!
I hope others are having as great an experience as I have. I look forward to staying with this office for years to come.
