I ordered Rotisseur via GrubHub and the food came over an hour past the stated delivery time. Worse — I called five minutes after the original delivery time and was told that the delivery was on the way. When I called again, 45 minutes later, no one answered the phone. I called GrubHub to complain, and they offered to call the store. In the intervening time, the food did arrive. GrubHub reached the store and said that they would send the delivery person back out to pick up the food, and then they’d give me a refund. In short — they delivered an hour late, lied about when the order was sent out and did nothing to make up for that. Never, ever ordering from Rotisseur again.

Walked in and received warm greeting from person working behind the counter. Enjoyed the tasty and very filling Mac n cheese, followed by their chocolate chunk cookie with sea salt topping. The Mac and cheese gets 5 stars, the cookie 4 stars. I will return to try their chicken.

I don’t really understand how this place is rated so highly. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. I ordered the chicken bahn mi, and it was closer to a chicken salad sandwich than a bahn mi. Again, not bad, but nothing special. I’d maybe eat here again if I was interested in a decent sandwich fairly quickly, but I won’t go out of my way.

Good place for a quick bite. I kept seeing this place pop up on Eat24 so I stopped in on my way home. Chicken Bahn Mi: Chicken, house mayo, pickled red cabbage, cucumbers, cilantro, and jalapeños. I may be stating the obvious, but if you’re looking for an authentic Bahn Mi, this definitely isn’t the place to go. The sandwich was good nonetheless, and I’d probably order it again. It was a little dry, so make sure to grab some of the brown hoisin sauce for dipping. The menu looks really good, so I’ll be sure to check out some of the other sandwiches and sides.

I’ve been here several times and rate this place a solid four stars. I like their rotisserie chicken and slow roasted pork sandwiches, so today I decided to try something new. After reading all of the so-so reviews of the tofu banh mi sandwich, I had to try it for myself. Complaints of the tofu lacking flavor have been addressed. The brick of tofu in my sandwich was definitely soaked in a nice marinade of soy and rice vinegar and sprinkled with plain and blackened sesame seeds. The pickled red cabbage, cucumber, carrots, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, and spicy mayo add a nice sour and spicy flavor to the experience. I found myself wanting more, possibly another sandwich, after I finished mine. The sandwich is on the smaller side so it’s probably a good idea to get a side. Go for the sweet potatoes. Pure yumminess. The baby corn muffins are also good. A meal here can get pricey, but the food is very high quality.

I stopped here quick for lunch while visiting the city on business. I was simply walking and looking for a place to catch my eye and this looked like a trendy spot. It really was but not what I had thought I was going to get. The name suggested that it would be home style chicken and potatoes with Mac and cheese. But this place was so much more. They gave a variety of sandwiches that all sounded great. I got what seemed to be their signature Banh Mi sandwich made with fresh off the rotisserie chicken. I got a side of Mac and cheese to go along with it. I almost wished I had gotten to sandwiches, the flavor smelled so great and their house mayo on the sandwich is something I wish I could buy a jar of. The Mac and cheese is comparison to the sandwich was a little bit of a let down but not like it wasn’t good. This place serves what you wish you could make out your chicken or turkey left overs.

Walking into Rotisseur, the cashier had their head down on the counter. I kindly asked them if they were okay and they stated they were stressed. After expressing sympathy, we ordered our food: the leg + thigh combo(with mac & cheese and kimchi) and the chicken banh mi. Surprisingly enough, we waited a while receive to our food although we were the only people in the restaurant. Our items were finally ready, but then another employee stated that they were out of kimchi. Disappointment number one. I looked at the remaining sides and chose the sweet potato mash. We took our tray to the table and I realized how small the portions were. I continued to give it benefit of the doubt and started chowing down. The chicken was good and juicy, but nothing spectacular. I do like the fact that they use cage and hormone free chickens. The mac and cheese and sweet potato mash could have been really tasty, but I was distracted since it simply tasted like it’s been left out for 3 hours. Disappointment number two. The chicken banh mi was more like a bland chicken sandwich with a few pickled vegetables. I’m all about new takes on the banh mi, but if you’re going to gentrify a goodie, make it — well, good. Disappointment number three. The restaurant itself was clean and modern looking. The employees, including the delivery person who came in mid-meal, all seemed unfriendly and miserable. We left very underwhelmed and disappointed. I don’t plan on returning; especially for a leg and a thigh they charged us for such mediocre meals.

I’ll be completely honest with you. It’s not as cheap as Boston Market. It’s worth the $ 8.50 for the chicken bahn mi. Is it worth the $ 29.50 for the whole chicken and two sides? Ehhh, maybe. For someone like me, who isn’t the best cook(I leave the cooking to the boyfriend), I wouldn’t mind spending that much for the ease of having dinner ready. So something to keep in mind– that it may be a better spot for lunch than for dinner. When I went, I tried the Chicken Bahn Mi– with pickled red cabbage, cucumber, cilantro, crispy chicken skin, lime, jalapeño, and banh mayo. It was good, although probably could have used a little more seasoning. What stood out for me, however, were the sides. When I went, I happened to get a side of chick-peas(which I’ve learned is a special, and not always on tap). I wish I had gotten a larger side, because I would have been happy enough if they were my entire meal. Other sides at Rotisseur include mac-n-cheese, roasted potatoes, beets & feta, and kimchi. Other sandwiches include Tofu Bahn Mi and a BBQ chicken sandwich. Keep In Mind: I went around dinner time, but I have heard that this place gets pretty crowded during lunch. So, if you are in the mood for some yummy chicken, make sure you are one of the first in line, or else you may be bringing it back to eat at your desk.

The restaurant itself was a nice open space with lots of seating, however, the food left a lot to be desired. We had the bo ssam bahn mi, half roasted chicken, potato wedges and Mac & cheese. The chicken was juicy and tender, although it could use more seasoning. We dipped it in the extra bahn mi mayo we asked for which was spicy and tangy(delicious– highly recommend). The potato wedges and Mac & cheese were good, but nothing special, and could have used more seasoning just like the chicken. Average food but could be great if they fixed these few things.

You know what’s funny, is that I wasn’t always a fan of Rotisseur – but I’ve slowly started to figure out what I like from there. Rotisserie chicken — breast and wing, with two sides. This is expensive(you’re probably better off going to a nearby grocery store or something), but usually cooked pretty well. The trick is to find the right *sides*. The mac and cheese is often mushy(so disappointing), I’m not a fan of their corn bread… but I loved their succotash during the summer, and also rather liked their roasted cauliflower. Hubby likes the potatoes, but they’re just potatoes to me. Banh Mi is NOT your typical banh mi. I hate that they call this banh mi – it really messes with my expectations. Once you get over that, you’ll be fine. It’s chicken on a french roll with some cilantro and pickled daikon and such – add some sriracha, and it turns out pretty good. Hubby and I eat a lot – and these are a bit small for our liking, and not incredibly cheap(esp since I’m used to banh mis being very cheap for much more), but I rather enjoy them. Service is typically pretty fast(unless there are a ton of delivery orders going out), and people there are nice!

I order via Eat24 here a lot, and w/the weekly coupon that Eat24 has, it’s incredibly convenient/a little cheaper to place an order online and select the takeout option(since I live so close). My go-to whenever I feel like having a relatively healthy dinner but not feeling like cooking. The beets & feta and cornbread muffins are fantastic(probably some of the best cornbread I’ve had), and the chicken is always tender and flavorful. I had the bahn mi before too and it was pretty good, but I prefer the straight up cuts of rotisserie chicken(leg & thigh). A bit pricey for what you get though.

Pope Francis Saturday took us down 21st to reach our security checkpoint on foot. We passed this place & popped in. We had been meaning to try it out anyway, & with not having to pay to park or finding the non existent parking spot in the city, we were delighted! We ordered 2 banh mi(pork) sandwiches, with sides of beets w/feta and mac & cheese, &3 drinks $ 28. The place was empty, but then again everyone was hurrying to get into the Parkway for the festivities. * The staff was friendly *The place was clean *The bathroom was clean(unisex). *The sandwiches were good but nothing spectacular. *The beets good, then again all beets are good! *The mac & cheese was dreadful looking & tasting, very disappointed. We would try it out again. The food was good & it kept us full. I say give it a try, if you’re in the area.

All the great review took me here and I was super disappointed. Came around lunchtime and the place could barely handle a line of 5 people. SLOW service. The two people working seemed scattered and confused. The chicken bahn mi that everyone raves about was nothing amazing. Sure a mixture of chicken, pickled cabbage, jalapeño, and chicken skin on a white bread was decent, but nothing amazing. The chicken is just cold pre-made chicken they rolled out of a bag. You could see the cold fat that became gelatinous, which is no appealing. Bread was sub-par. The chicken thigh and leg was quite small, though juicy. Skin needed to be cooked a bit longer. Mac and cheese was unmemorable, except for the dumb soggy croûton looking things on top. Beets with feta cheese on top was good, but that’s hard to mess up. Overall, service was eh, food was eh, and I would not return.

I ordered delivery around 7pm on the weekend and got the same experience a lot of other people did. The chicken and tofu bahn mi were good but nothing spectacular. The sides were definitely lacking. The potatoes(which were actually supposed to be sweet potatoes and mis-sent) were cold and soggy. The mac and cheese was okay at best. Maybe the food is better in person but I won’t order delivery again.

*This review has to do with delivery via grub hub. I’ve never actually come into Rotisseur in person.* So I’ve been ordering from this place for a while now because I cannot get enough of their tofu bahn mi! It’s slightly small, but the flavors are so on point that I always go for it. This may seem stupid that I order from this place so often because they literally forget something EVERYTIME. Whenever I order it’s always, «what are they going to forget this time?» And it’s always such an ordeal having the delivery guy come back to bring the forgotten item. This has happened at least 5 times. I’ve gotten credit, free food, etc… But I have to say, I’m done. This was my last time dealing with this nonsense. Ordered my usual tofu bahn mi with the beet and feta salad. Of course they forgot the feta so it was a container of beets. Cool. I love beets, but I’m spending money on this and I don’t know why. I’ve officially cut my ties, and I’m never looking back. Get your act together, Rotisseur.

I orderd a tofu sandwich sans mayo and while it was good, it lacked flavor. They should think about marinating their tofu like other Vietnamese places do. I really liked the pickled veggies on the sandwich and the bread was very good as well. I’d give this place another try.

Ordered from eat24. The Delivery was prompt with $ 3 service fee. Tried the chicken bahn mi. This really wasn’t a bahn mi… rather it was a really good chicken sandwich with juicy tender rotisserie chicken. It lacked the crunchy daikon and herbs of a bahn mi but it was quite tasty! Overall delicious!

I was in Philly on Memorial Day for an overnight; on plan on the docket was to visit Mutter Museum, but the beau and I needed a little bit of food in our bellies first. We pretty much got off of the Greyhound and went straight there without any consideration to what food may be in the area. Many places were closed for the holiday, but Rotisseur saved us. And I must laugh a little: the Greyhound station is near Chinatown, and when I looked up lunches on Unilocal,I found a Vietnamese sandwich shop. He really wasn’t interested, which bummed me out. Lo and behold, Rotisseur served up Southern foods with a few Banh Mis on the menu. SCORE! What a wonderful and welcomed menu fusion that was! I opted for the Chicken Banh Mi, which was tender, juicy, and altogether beautiful. My camera ate a few bites of the sandwich before I did. It was loaded without being overloaded, chock full of a perfect ratio of meat to vegetables. The jalapenos definitely give it a kick; I’m not a spice-lovin’ gal, but I powered through.(Haaa.) The beau got a BBQ Pork Sandwich, also delicious. We split a small side of mac and cheese which provided an odd but fitting accompaniment to my Banh Mi. It was creamy and tangy. Many southern sides were on the menu, such as mashed sweet potatoes, collard greens, and the cutest little corn muffins you’ll ever see. Oh, and the chicken! Get a thigh, get a breast, get a leg, get a whole bird! Fantastic! Vietnamese and Southern is definitely not a combination that I’d think of… but damn, it works! Some people go a little crazy with the«restaurant fusion» fad, but I’m 100% behind this. ;-) I’d definitely come back here on my next Philly jaunt.

I had the ½ chicken with two sides, total cost 16.20 To be honest, for my taste is a little under seasoned and small, I wouldn’t mind the size if it tasted great. The mac and cheese was not the traditional one and was not a better vesion of it. The corn cakes were very delicious. But with all that said, I rather go to Di Bruno’s and buy a very good whole chicken for the same price.

I’ve given this place many opportunities to change my mind and I still always feel disappointed. Cons: –their mini corn bread muffins look so cute, but don’t be fooled. They aren’t even sweet plus they are so freaking oily. –their banh mi sandwiches are mediocre. They are just so not like the authentic ones you get from the Vietnamese stores. –Their rotisserie chicken is expensive. Better off walking all the way to Whole Foods. Pros: –they have a friendly staff which is always nice.
