The eggplant parm was amazing. Loved the marinara, that the eggplant was nice and soft into smaller, manageable pieces… super filling and only $ 10! Pretty messy but worth it.

Around the corner from me. Lots of TVs for games, good beers on tap, and the bartenders were all cool. Just saw a photo of the bartender dude who’s name I forgot, from another reviewer, about being on his cell phone. That’s messed up honestly. He was the first person to help me when I first stopped by to watch a playoffs game. I explained I just wanted to watch the game, and to my complete surprise he said no problem and asked if I wanted a water. Super nice, chill dude. I’m cool with bad workers getting called out, but not this guy. Been again a few times since then, will keep coming back for a local chill bar spot. I still need to try the food… Jim

Once upon a time there was a girl who couldn’t stop eating fried cauliflower. True story thanks to this place. It’s delivered at least once a week to my door(thank you grubhub). Don’t judge until you taste. It’s perfect. The hummus. No, not regular hummus. Fabulous with fresh pita and fried chickpeas hummus. Insane. The burgers. Fabulous. I like mine with sharp provolone and pancetta. Best chicken fingers I’ve had in ages. The stupid grilled cheese. Crusty and perfectly caramelized on the edges. If me and that grilled cheese were trapped in a burning building and my husband could only carry one thing out he would really miss me while he ate his sandwich. Great place for a beer and unexpected good food. Super nice staff.

I live right near this bar(perhaps gastropubs would be better) and sometimes hi there on the way olé. Drinks are always god abs they have a good beer list. The food is creative and upscale for this type of place and extremely reasonably priced fur what you get. They literally have a slew of different specials everyday and a decent size menu so I’ve never had the same thing twice. It’s a little loud at night and I wish they would do something about that. I can sometimes heat what’s going on there from my condo! The crew from the Trader Joe’s a block away often hang out there after work so that’s part of the problem. I always take out of town friends there for a quick bite out and socializing. It’s more affordable than most of the restaurants in this neighborhood and a sure thing.

Stumbled across this place while visiting Philadelphia, ended up staying for drinks and dinner. There was a good variety of beers and the prices were reasonable. The food was pretty good as well. I tried the Tuscan Fries, which were tasty. My friend had the Italian melt and very much enjoyed it. So all in all, good service, good food, and good drinks equals good place.

Just a fast review… was here maybe 10 years ago and it had a dive feel too it… but stopped in today for a quick bite and drink before an appointment and was pleasantly surprised… I had a chicken bean soup that was delicious… savory broth plenty of well cooked chicken, beans and a pasta… topped with toasted bread strips for dunking… very very tasty… the bullitt old fashioned was well made… the menu looked very interesting… I wish I had had time to try a few items… the escargot on toast looked very interesting!

Bartenders are nice and the scene is good. Happy hour specials can help bring the bill down. Tons of tv’s for watching a game. Also check out the live guitarist on Tuesdays

Really homey type of a bar. It’s a safe stop for a few beers. The bar area is on the small side.

Great neighborhood bar for a great bite and fast and friendly service! Place doesn’t look like much from the outside but who cares, the food was really good. The grouper PO-boy was good but the remoulade was a little bland, give that sauce some excitement and it will really bring the sandwich together nicely. The grilled chicken sand was great. We loved the apple and goat cheese with arugula combo, not too much cheese which is great as you’ll lose everything else when there is too much. The side salad option was very tasty with the chick peas and the fries are unstoppable! Bartenders were very friendly and quick, the three working last night worked very well as a team, always there when you needed them with a suggestion or a refill! Thank you!

Rogues is the perfect hidden gem. I go to Rouges at least once a week since I live across the street and I’m so excited to have this amazing dive as my neighbor. The cozy dark feel sets you up to look like your average dive bar. That is until you see the menu(always updated and posted on chalkboards.) The food menu is pretty small(at most 20 items at all times) but everything is unique and delicious. You typically wouldn’t find a bar that had rare canned beers AND escargots. Whether you’re coming for the beer selection(lots of IPAs– small yet great selection but updating often) or the unique delicious food(everything from octopus tacos to a PB&J burger) you will not go wrong by going to Rogues Gallery!

Came to Philly as an in and out for business and my hometown team(Cleveland Browns) was playing tnite. I looked up Browns Backer bars and this was the spot. Great atmosphere, local divey feel(which I love). The staff was great and was very attentive. I only wish I didn’t have that cheesesteak or I’d have eaten here too. Will definitely be back when I’m in town

New favorite neighborhood bar! Not much to look at outside with some divey spots nearby. Don’t let this fool you. Inside is a great neighborhood bar with cans, bottles, and draft craft beer selections, ample pours on cocktails, and a friendly staff. Our waitress introduced herself and got our names and the other bartender was equally friendly. Busy but not slammed on a Saturday. Great place. The food comes in generous portions. This place has an inventive menu. For example, brussel sprouts were on the menu. We ordered them and they were great. My wife had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich which was cheesy heaven on the inside! I had chicken and biscuits with honey. They have lots of cool specials too. Good menu with much more than burgers. This is a great place to bring a group or just hang out. They have two rooms so a bigger group can go to the back. It was about ¾ full by the time we left but it wasn’t a zoo and you could actually hear someone talking to you. «Drink, eat, hang, hide» is their motto which is a great way to describe this neighborhood pearl!

Took me a few years of living around the corner to go in here as it looked pretty divey from the outside. Once inside, it still sort of has that feel but also a nice neighborhood feel. Like others have said, they have a good mix of beers, some fancier, some just your regular yueglings etc. They have a decent happy hour though it is usually busy during that time. I love coming here with friends because I never find it to be TOO busy. Living in the Rittenhouse area and wanting to go out on a Saturday to somewhere that isnt packed(:cough: Drinkers: cough:) is more difficult than it sounds if you aren’t looking to drop a lot of money. Rogues is my go to when I want to be able to talk to friends, get some good beer, and be able to move around the bar. I also come here A LOT for food after work. Its a nice place to come by yourself as its never super busy and the bar is comfortable. I get the grilled cheese and the tomato soup and it is SOGOOD. Delicious grilled bread, cheesy mix of special blend cheeses, pesto topped tangy tomato soup. You’ll never have a better pairing and now its the only place I can go for grilled cheese as everything else since has been a dissapointment. Overall, A++ for good service, amazing food, nice little hideaway during the Rittenhouse weekend rush.

I’ve been to Rogues more times that I’d like to admit, but I just can’t stay away. The bartenders are fun and attentive. The food is wonderful and its always a great time. From the outside, Rogues looks like it would be a dive bar with a lackluster food menu and a «only here for one drink» feel. Wrong. Rogues never disappoints. I’ve come here for lunch, dinner, and even work happy hour and each time, I’ve been impressed. The wings are great, the frog legs are on point, the calamari is perfect and their tots with spicy sriracha ketchup are total bar food winners. I’ve also had the hummus platter, the octopus, the steak tacos, and their mushroom flatbread, which all hit high marks.(Hashtag, fatkid) Go for the food, stay for the fun.

The food here is pretty solid. I have been happy with everything I ordered. Except the champagne. But who really needs to drink champagne with nachos? I’ve had the Mac-N-Cheese, Nachos, Pirogies, and honey-sriracha wings. All are two thumbs up. It’s elevated pub-grub. Which I love. You can’t really miss with stuff like that. It’s pretty advantageous of them to offer things like rabbit and frogs legs. I’m impressed. Though I’m not going to order them, I’ll just infer that if they’re going to have the balls to serve it, they’re going to make damn sure that it’s done well. The bar tenders/servers here are so kind, and nice. One star off because sometimes it gets loud. The other star off because I haven’t had much more off the menu and I’m intrigued to see how the rest of the food compares. I’ll be back though to see. :) Actually, now that I think about it, I’m really excited to come back to try the rest of the menu.

At first glance of the exterior, you may think that Rogue’s Gallery is a strip joint, or a disgusting, smoke filled dive bar. Their front door is situated on the corner of a small alley, with an old beat up sign just displaying their name in plain white letters. I was pleasantly surprised when a group of friends and I made a late night stop at Rogue’s Gallery last weekend. They had a great selection of craft beer on tap,(including Sweet Baby Jesus, that truly delighted the men in our group). The bartenders were attentive, even when my drunk friends obnoxiously ordered multiple rounds of shots at the bar well after 1AM. They had fun tunes playing; a mix of current pop and some«oldies». We hung out several minutes past 2AM to finish up our drinks and the staff was patient with us before kindly telling us that we needed to go. Lesson Learned: I suppose I should stop judging a book by its cover!

First review from yours truly during the infancy of 2015. It is no accident that I’ve chosen Rogue’s Gallery as the principal review to spearhead my works of gastronomical literary endeavors… after all, it is here where I have bid adieu to the years 2013 and 2014 in consecutive NYE outings. All in all, a cozy, roomy, non-pretentious bit of restaurant/bar/lounge/dance floor that serves as perfect event space for occasions such as NYE. Muh boy has good relations with the boss lady of this establishment, and has been able to secure, set up, and execute some of the most fun NYE parties I’ve ever attended this side north of 25. Despite large numbers in attendance(a tight 80+ people for both events in a roomy, albeit not huge bar area) the bartenders did a pretty damn good job of making sure all patrons were nice and soused before the dropping of the ball for both years(as far as I could recall). $ 6 gin and tonics and $ 7 shots didn’t break the bank and had me feeling all sorts of good by the stroke of midnight. Additionally, the bites at this place are damn tasty. Calamari was crispy and the spicy aoili was a great touch… additionally, the chicken fingers hit the spot. True, not exactly the most unique and esoteric of cuisines to partake from, but sometimes one isn’t looking for unique/esoteric… but rather something familiar, fried, and crunchy. Slight hiccup with the DJ this past 2014… played«We Didn’t Start the Fire» twice in a row because some dude requested it… Why do that? Set up a bunch of songs in succession then leave for a piss/cigarette/dance on the floor… Uhh, do your damn job. Taking requests then play none of them… shaking my damn head. A friend of mine was checking out the turntables and grazed one, with anal DJ man going ballistic, threatening to bust skulls, saying(verbatim) «No one touches my sh*t brah!» Just as he finished, some drunk broad walks up to the Macbook attached to the soundboard, types a bunch of nonsense and says«what does this do??» After inquiry, we find out that DJ douchebag didn’t know said drunk broad. Arbitrary and capricious(inconsistent) enforcement??? You bet your ass. So all things considered, even with DJ Sucks @ss 2014, the service, drinks, and food give me a bunch of warm and fuzzies when I wax nostalgia on this joint. Note: For the first review of the year, I’m a tad rusty… but I swear it’ll get better!
