I’m sitting here thinking about giving this place 3 stars, but then I thought about other water ices that may taste better than Rita’s, there really is none. So, because of this, I’ll give Rita’s a 4. Their water ice is always refreshing, and the flavors are pretty close tot he flavors I expect to taste when I order them. I love the cookies and cream water ices, or «cream» ice. I don’t go to Rita’s often, but if I ever am in the mood for water ice, I have to say I only think of Rita’s. Also, I didn’t go beyond 4 stars because this specific location isn’t the best. I like the locations inside malls because of the seating availability.

I can’t believe after a year here, this was my first Rita’s! The flavors were pretty extensive and the consistency of water ice was a lot more pleasant than I was expecting. I got the gillatti(sp?) which is the water ice mixed with vanilla custard/ice cream, in mango. The flavor of the mango was real, not fakey or over sugared, and the flavor combo of the two were delightful! Too bad they will be closing Oct. 1 for the fall season. I’ll be sure to visit more often when they open back up in the spring. The cost was not bad, $ 3.65 for what is shown in my picture(size small). It was very filling, esp since I got it as an after lunch treat!

Living in the neighborhood, I’ve been to this Rita’s location a handful of times. For the past couple of years, if I’m feeling Rita’s I’d rather drive to any other Rita’s location. Let me tell you why… 1) I was nearly robbed by 3 children(13 and under) about 2 summers ago. I was standing at the window waiting for my order(which took waaay too long. maybe the employees were in on the attempted robbery…) and three kids came up, trying to grab the money from my hands. They also tried to grab my ice cream as they handed me my order. 2) A few times they were out of anything I wanted, such as pretzels, certain flavors that were advertised, and soft-serve ice cream. 3) Though the employee was trying to be friendly, one time this girl asked me about every single tattoo I had, what it meant, where I got it, did it hurt, etc. All I was trying to do was order my dang ice cream!!! 2 stars is generous for this Rita’s location. With so many locations, GOELSEWHERE!

Rita’s Water Ice is great on a hot summer’s day. They are located all over my neighborhood. I’m a fan of the Gilatti. Its basically a layer of ice cream on top of a layer of the water ice of your choice, on top of a layer of ice cream, on top of a layer of water ice. Its the perfect blend :) Too bad this place isn’t open all year round.
