Good place to watch a soccer game, with great views of the Penn medical campus. Rhodes Field used to have seats behind the goal for a supporters section but these were seldom used so they have put in a brick façade for aesthetics, instead. What this field needs is better directional signage from nearby roadways. Invariably, someone who has never been here before will miss the first 20 minutes of a game while looking for a single entrance for cars, and it is not pedestrian friendly, either, requiring two flights of stairs from the nearest sidewalk which is all the way over on south street. Recently, PENN instituted a $ 12 parking fee after 2:30PM, which is just an ABSURD way of gouging of guests who come out just to see 90 minutes of soccer. As for whether this is good for kids, I’ll vote«not sure,» as in I’m not sure why this is one of the only college soccer fields around with no concessionaire in the vicinity. Portapots? No thanks.
