Had a great experience here today, much improved since our last visit. We were a party of 7 for brunch and the staff quickly set up a table for us. We were greeted right away and our drinks came quickly. Food was excellent, especially the breakfast pizza and BLTs. It also came out quickly. Their specialty bloodys were delicious! Bartender was so sweet and really took care of us. The bill was around $ 25/person before tip, well worth it and we will be back!

Eh, menu shifts have left the Turkey Burger in a charred overcooked hokey-puck sized dried offering. Don’t make it if your not going to do it right please.

I think back in the day Rebrandt was prob a hit place but I feel like the main thing holding this place back now is that the atmosphere is dated dingy and old feeling. The food was decent but honestly of the two times I was here I was packed into the bar for one and the other in a room by ourselves not getting great service. I think a simply remodel to this place to open it up might just bring me back. I would suggest to people to try it but I doubt it will become your new spot. The bar scene was fun with lots of football fans glued to the TV which included some of the staff. I would probable go here for a beer before I had dinner here again.

Great, unassuming place in Philly. I’ll start with the service. Malik was our server and we couldn’t have asked for more. He was attentive, personable and funny. The food was also great. I had the chipotle chicken flatbread and while I can’t do super spicy, this was perfect with just the right amount of heat. Others at my table enjoyed the crab cakes(two super picky eaters who cleaned their plates) and the chicken sandwich. No leftovers, which should tell you something. This place is a little off the main strip, but totally worth the visit.

Poor value, high prices, bad service, clams were a small portion and the broth was way too salt heavy. My water was empty 70% of my stay and I was 1 of 5 people in the restaurant with about 5 staff members standing around, doing nothing. Weak all around.

I visited Rembrandt’s as part of the craft beer crawl. This was one of our last stops and we were starving. What drew me in was the grapefruit ale that they chose as their sample for the crawl. It was light, refreshing, and the grapefruit flavor really shined through. We decided to try the cheesesteak rolls, loaded tator tots, and Rembrandt burger. The cheesecake rolls were devine — crispy and not greasy. The tator tots were spot on flavor wise but could have been a little more crisp. The Rembrandt burger was everything a bacon cheeseburger should be. I want to point out Rembrandt really cooks their burgers to order. I prefer my burger medium well however ordered medium so that it would not be over cooked. Well Rembrandt actually listens to their customers and cooked my burger medium. The customer service is excellent. We sat at the bar and they constantly checked in with and made sure we were satisied with our food. If you are in th area choose Rembrandt’s for your dining needs.

This is a go-to spot when I meet a friend who lives in Fairmount for happy hour. I’ve come here probably 4 or 5 times, with varying experiences, but my most recent trip was probably the best. It certainly helped that it was 78 degrees on a Friday afternoon, and we sat outside at a table where we could soak up the sun. But it also helped that Rembrandt’s has recently re-vamped their happy hour menu. From 5 – 7 Rembrandt’s offers discounted wine, well drinks, and beer — usually 3 different varieties. On this occasion, they had a grapefruit ale by Evil Genius, and though I was wary, it turned out to be the best beer I could have dreamed of for $ 3 on an early summer afternoon. The happy hour food menu also featured multiple delights for the vegetarian like myself. We shared the avocado hummus, which was small but delicious, and then I had the margherita flatbread — smaller than their normal size, but honestly just enough food. I will, of course, be back for happy hour — this is not a bad spot to have as a «regular»!

Just one block off from Eastern State Penitentiary, this casual neighborhood place offers friendly service in a charmingly shabby, disorganized space. On the night we were there, there were many tables set up outside. The food was really good. We started with an order of the tater tots, served with a generous amount of cheese and bacon bits and a side of ranch dressing. I had the chicken sandwich which was really tasty and perfectly cooked. It is served inside a delicious bun of multigrain bread. Since we had the tater tots, I opted for a side salad served with just the right amount of dressing. My wife had a delicious avocado hummus, served with pita and vegetables. The vegetables could have been a little fresher but they were acceptable. The beer and wine list is adequate. We both had really great white wines, served perfectly chilled(thanks, too often wine is served way too warm). The service was a little slow even though there were not many diners at the bar. We waited quite a long time for the tater tots but the rest of the food was served a little faster. I don’t like to rush, but we waited for a what seemed like an inordinate amount of time given the crowd that evening. Overall, a really good experience at a restaurant tucked away on a residential street in Fairmount.

This restaurant is within the closest proximity to my place. Therefore, I frequent it out of convenience. However, I’m very happy that this place happen to be my default choice because I thoroughly enjoy every visit. I usually go on a weekday night for a drink if I feel the need to, I also go on a weekend lunch with people and I am planning to go sometime soon to sit out and drink beer and eat their delicious truffle cheesesteak once my allergies calm down. The bartenders are all very chill, nice people. Their beer list offers options for everyone. The food is good. Happy hour specials are cool, too. I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t pay a visit — oh wait, I do. Please don’t visit when I am planning to visit because I would rather not look for a seat then give up and be forced to go to bishop’s collar or urban saloon. No way.

After a weekend stroll through Fairmount with the GF’s folks, we were all feeling peckish so decided to stop by Rembrandt’s Restaurant & Bar, just north of Eastern State Penitentiary. In addition to the bar, there was a dining area with plenty of comfortable seating. The vibe was relaxed — clearly a friendly neighborhood joint. Loaded Tater Tots [$ 5] Bacon, mixed cheese, ranch We started off with the loaded tater tots, which featured a good crisp on the mini-tots. There was plenty of cheddar and mozzarella melted on top, with crisp bits of bacon studded throughout each bite. The pat of housemade ranch brought each bite over the top. And at $ 5? A steal. The Burger [$ 14] All natural beef, porter onions, bacon, sharp white cheddar I went with the burger, which featured a decently seasoned burger, topped with fatty bacon, sharp cheddar, rich beer-braised onions, and a ripe tomato — all housed within a nice brioche bun. While the patty itself came closer to medium-well rather than the requested medium-rare, it still made for a satisfying bite. The sweet potato fries were thin, crisp, and perfect. Lobster Roll [$ 15] Old bay, celery, tarragon, red oak lettuce The GF’s lobster roll featured a nice buttery bun, with lobster that was a bit too chopped and dressed for my liking. But the GF liked it just fine. Mac N Cheese [$ 4] The mac n cheese on the other hand got kudos from the both of us. Nicely gooey the way the GF likes it and plenty of cheese on top to satisfy my needs, each bite had nice notes from the fresh herbs as well. A good side to get at only $ 4. So if you’re in the Fairmount area or touring ESP, do check out Rembrant’s. They have Quizzo, drinks, and good food to boot.

Rembrandt’s is a pretty huge pub type eatery with a nice big room for groups. We came as a group of 12 and had no problem getting a table right away and served quickly. One of the meals never ended up coming out but was comped. The staff did seem quite overworked though with a single waitress and the hostess periodically helping across the whole room. The brunch menu was small and tidy but had some interesting choices. The beer menu was a bit small and disappointing for the setting. The wasabi bloody marry was unique and tasty but hard to drink more than one. The brunch calzone with egg, cheese, and ham was good but a bit bland and could have used more spice or flavor. The baked eggs dish was very good with a nice profile and not as heavy as expected. Oddly, they didn’t add in the tip for a large group which led to some confusion.

I love Rembrandt’s – atmosphere is lively and full of neighbors! I enjoy their salads and flatbreads, and they have a good beer selection and interesting cocktails! There is a lot of bar seating, and all of the bartenders are attentive and friendly. Great outdoor seating too.

THISREVIEWISFORFAIRMOUNTFOODCRAWLONLY SPOT8 Get em in, get em out. unless they’re drinking. then we’ll keep em. We rounded the corned and was shadowed by a nice half-block line of crawlers waiting to get into Rembrandts. After having been to another locale with a horrific system that made the sinking of the Titanic look organized, this did not fare well. However, the line kept moving, always a promising note despite nobody being spit out of the other end. Food — hoisin(?) glazed bbq rib /Beverage — titos lemon-lime ade mixture. Walk in, get card stamped, get drink, find server, order food, eat food, pay bill, leave. Pretty much in that order spread over the course of 15 minutes is what happened. Bartenders and servers all working themselves to a sweaty mess, but keeping up. Food did not take long as it seemed the kitchen had it together and the serving staff was able to keep everyone imbibed the whole time.

Our local go to spot. They actually have a happy hour you can make with good drink and food specials. 5 – 7, not the all too standard 4 – 6 crap. Great specials during most local sporting events and during all NFL games. 2 sided bar means plenty of room and revamped food menu is always pleases. Try their old fashioned, it’s a great twist on the classic cocktail.

My spouse and I decided to go on a tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary on the coldest day ever, not realizing it would be outside. This left us practically frostbitten and we were looking for a place nearby to warm up. This led us to Rembrandt’s. What a good choice this was! I sampled a couple of the local beers that they have on draft and the waitress was great about making recommendations! Being frozen, I started with a bowl of the cream of mushroom soup, which was just perfect for a hot day. My husband got the french onion soup, which I was envious of as the melted cheese was scrumptious! For our main meal we went for some hot wings and some loaded tater tots. Not the healthiest of meals, but man was it good! I noticed some other patrons sampling the bloody marys and I know that if I lived locally, I would make Rembrandt’s a spot on my brunch rotation. Good food in a convenient location — 4 stars for me!

This place is listed under happy hours and their website states they have a happy hour so why such a crappy happy hour? Ok $ 3 wines is nice, but I want a $ 3 craft beer. Oh you have them but only the pumpkin crap that you can only muster one down. You have to make a happy hour for all. I will come back for the wine happy hour if the mood strikes but please don’t advertise $ 3 craft beers and have two pumpkins and yuengling hahaha as your offers. Disappointed. Bartender was slow and mildly off putting.

Nice large bar with an extended back bar for busy drinking nights. We went for an after dinner drink last Thursday and it was moderately crowded. Great draft beer list and some good bottles as well. Good prices too. Great service. I didn’t have food on this visit but I’ve had bar food here in the past and it was good. Large dining room section downstairs and an even larger room upstairs that seems to be open once in a while. The best night is when they have quizzo. Solid regular crowded of quizzo enthusiasts. Good prizes too. Decent bathrooms. Usually clean.

Staffing was great with outside seating. Talked to one of the managers for a moment and he was really nice. The food was prepared and plated well. Hamburger was cooked to perfection and the French fries were crisp and not under or over cooked. The calamari had a light batter and was prepared well with 2 nice sauces. The appetizer Caesar salad was HUgE And a bargain in pricing. Place is on the ball. Good job. City dining and great!!!

Everything at Rembrandt’s is so middle of the road. This restaurant is extremely mediocre. The menu, prices, service, tap list, food… they all just fail to leave one impression either way. I can’t fault the restaurant, or give props for anything, maybe save the nice outdoor seating. Oh wait! I did remember ONE thing: the wings were well cooked but disappointingly priced at $ 12 for ten average sized wings. Bottom Line: No impression, good or bad.
