I love that there is such an accessible place to get farm fresh food around manayunk! This is a must stop for my boyfriend and I very Saturday. Let me start off by saying that I have been living in the Manayunk area less than a year now, but I actually stumbled upon this farmer’s market about a month in. I am so glad I did! It runs from about May to October with many seasonal items. Check out their Facebook for special days like kids day and doggie day! On to the food! There’s usually a handful of vendors there and sometimes they switch up depending on what’s fresh and ready to sell. By far, the biggest vendor is Mt. Pleasant Produce. They have all the fresh veggies you could need from green beans to rhubarb and kale. They also have fresh fruits, baked goods(like whoopie pie!) and assorted jams and jellies. Another stand out vendor is Pinelands Produce that has the best(and hand foraged) mushrooms! Here is my must have list for what’s fresh right now: beets and elderberry jam from Mt Pleasant Produce, Kombucha from Le Petit Gourmand, and black trumpet mushrooms and blueberries from Pinelands Produce. You won’t be disappointed! I always make sure to check the Facebook as well, because they will have other guest vendors and food trucks that vary from week to week! The only reason I took off a star is that the farmers market is still growing. I’d love to see more and more vendors here every week!

As a new resident to the manayunk/roxborough area this is a great addition to the neighborhood and a welcomed sight. My Girlfriend and I make sure to come here every Saturday to see what’s new and in season. They always have fresh fruit and vegetables from mount pleasant produce(their beets are the best!), locally picked and foraged mushroom, herbs, and berries from Pinelands produce. I got their black trumpet and shiitakes about an hour ago and I can’t wait to cook them. Plus, they always have a different, local food truck so make sure you come hungry. I have never left disappointed at the selection and have never left without an overflowing bag of goodies.
