My boyfriend heard about Philly Fresh on NPR and we were excited to try it out at the game this past Sunday. He had the turkey burger with avocado and I had the chicken wrap. I thought they were both very tasty and fresh(like, I would have been happy with the quality at a restaurant/bar) and not expensive considering it’s «going out» prices($ 7.50 and $ 7.00 but I forget which was which). I’m definitely excited about having healthier options at the games considering I’m there a few times a month with my season tickets. I will definitely get the food from there(behind section 139) again! Go Phillies!

Sure, baseball is the great American pastime, but the only problem is you can’t eat healthy while you’re at the game, right? Fear not, cheeze wiz virgins, the Phillies have you covered this year. Behind section 139, right down the road from the $ 10 Schmitters, is the new Philly Fresh stand, offering all sorts of healthy options for those not planning to drink until they puke. The char-grilled turkey burger with avocado and tomato salsa comes highly recommended. Another big bite is the grilled chipotle chicken wrap with avocado, tomato, romaine, cilantro, lime, and low-fat yogurt in whole wheat. But there’s also the Hall of Fame Salad, with red grapes, pistachios, and dried cranberries on mixed greens with either blue cheese or balsamic vinaigrette — the Shanghai Salad with asian style noodles, carrots, and scallions with ginger soy dressing — pita chips and hummus — carrots and celery with low fat ranch dressing — whole wheat pretzels — low-fat yogurt and berry parfait — and of course, low-fat Tastykakes. Add to that smoothies, strawberry yogurt, and trail mix, and that’s a lot to offer. So the next time another drunken slob is ruining your evening, instead of calling security, offer him a piece of celery instead. Someday he just may thank you for it.
