This review is for the tasting of the coffee only. the group I was with consisted of 7 tasters it was a prize won by friends of ours they asked my wife and I to join them and we did. My wife and I both are coffee drinkers. Kevin the owner and coffee roaster did educate all of us about coffee and he is an expert at educating people about coffee. We tasted 4 coffee’s Brazillian, Guatamalan, Ethiopian, and good old pre ground store bought Duncan Donuts. Ok this review has a caveat. I was asked indirectly by the owner to review. Not with standing that request I have decided to review the tasting only. Kevin specializes in light roast to full city roast coffee’s and unfortunately I prefer a medium to medium dark roast or a French or Italian roast coffee. The coffee he purchases are top notch and you can taste the flavors that the coffee is supposed to have. The draw back is once you learn how taste the coffee you invariably taste the coffee you normally drink. Kevin smartly sell his coffee by the half pound(the amount you can drink in a week as the lighter roasts go stale in about 2 weeks from roasting) and whole bean(as coffee once ground goes stale in about an hour.) He purchases from smaller farms so his coffee prices are more expensive than what you will see in a chain coffee store. My wife and I liked the Ethiopian the best. Location is port Richmond section of Philly. Parking is lousy. I believe he does mail order or email ordering. Unfortunately for Kevin due to his location and prices I will not be a regular customer but I may consider his services for gift purchases in the future. Tasting is 5 stars you will learn a lot. prices parking and my taste preferences bring it down to a 3 stars.

Once you taste coffee from Peregrine, you won’t want to take your caffeine in any other form. A few years ago for my brother’s b-day, I gave him a gift certificate to Peregrine and arranged for us to do a tasting. Kevin, the owner and roaster extraordinaire, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and we had a wonderful time learning about coffee from him. My brother is now serving in Afghanistan and Kevin keeps him well supplied with the best coffee! Kevin understands what people like — it is bespoke coffee — who could ask for more?

One of the highlights of the start of a new month is the latest«Coffee of the Month» from Peregrine Coffee. Peregrine finds estate coffees from all over the world, roasts the beans here in town, and creates some of the most sublime coffee flavors you’ll find anywhere. The easiest way to know you’re a good friend of mine is when I’m willing to share my Peregrine with you. A hidden gem of Philly-living.

Addictive. Gave my husband a short-term monthly subscription to bespoke coffee last year, and it’s been a huge winner in our household. Sometimes, the little things in life can deliver enormous pleasure, eh? Well, Peregrine Coffee delivers in multiple ways, and we’re back with a yearly commitment at Christmas this year. What a fantastic and clever idea, and what high quality coffee and service. Thanks, Peregrine!

If you have not had your FREE(seriously — they will come right to your home or office) bespoke coffee tasting yet — you need to check this out. right. now. Kevin & Louise, the owners are so accomodating and they roast up some of the best KenyaAA, Kona, Guatemalan(DH’s fave) and the aforementioned Brazilian. I LOVEPEREGRINE!!!
