Got myself a semi-fancy messenger bag here before work. I work basically across the street and have to walk by this place everyday so I finally chanced a visit because I needed to revamp my raggedy bag wardrobe. I had 10 minutes before work and figured I’d give this place a go. The owner was friendly and immediately found me 4 bags that, while not necessarily fitting my criteria for messenger bags, where really cute. I spent about a solid 4 minutes checking out 1 bag which she let me know was a new product for $ 30. She was willing to give me a sale for $ 27. She also brought me over a really cute larger messenger bag on the sale rack for $ 20 that I had totally missed. I ended up going with that bag. I really like how she didn’t mind me really handling her products. I mean I was zipping and unzipping and folding and unfolding and feeling up the bags, to really really get the feel. If I’m going to carry around a bag, I really want to be comfortable with it, so I want to enjoy every aspect of it. The bag I chose was really cute and I was happy with it and the price. Fyi folks, the sales are final. Also, she didn’t mind me paying with change(quarters) since I didn’t have a dollar and my bill came out to 21.60 and I only had two 20s. I was totally okay with her asking if I had a dollar(some people don’t like that, but I in my mind had originally wanted to use my quarters anyway: P).

We’ve been going to Our Place every year for GREAT holiday gifts. The prices are fantastic. Comparable products are more than 2xs the prices at other stores. Men and women scarves, gloves, jewelery. Great for shopping during the year as well. Designer clothes and accessories at a fraction of the going rates elsewhere. This place has been a life saver @ Christmas. So check it out! It’s worth a look.

I tried to buy a $ 10 scarf and was told that a $ 15 minimum was required to make a purchase. No sign even posted or anything so that I could have at least avoided the embarrassment. I told the woman(the owner, I think) that was«illegal”-every major credit card company lists that as a violation of the terms of their contract– and all she says is «OK!» very fake and cheery with the intent to impress upon me that she doesn’t give a you-know-what. I work across the street and have an almost-all female department; she has no idea how this treatment of a first-time(almost) customer will impact her. But that is not enough for me, so I’m telling you guys: Boycott«Our Place» and anyone else who tries to force you to spend more money with a bogus«minimum»! If businesses don’t want our credit card purchases they shouldn’t have the benefit of a merchant account. Period.
