The 75% off coupon rendered their movie theater concession stand prices(laughably overpriced) on par with a Whole Foods(and they don’t call em «Whole Paycheck» for nothing). The frozen, cryovaced meats were quality as was the packaging but even if they send another coupon I see no need to return as fresh meat is readily available at several nearby locations.

What? I Guess I am gonna be one of those« Unilocalers»(no I didn’t just label myself that!!!) but here’s the negative side of me… I don’t understand at all what MOST people think when they open their mouths and insert food. Back up, No comprende nada crappola when most people set out and make most decisions and why and then pay, especially when money stops being too much of an issues and as well intelligence factors start to blur the lines. This actually gives me a headache. I mean, here we have CLEARLY beef that has come from somehere FAR away. CLEARLY friggin outrageously priced and clearly not all that fresh. That being said — my sister used to send me boxes of differenet packs of this stuff. The best stuff in the case is the cheaper cuts, they are brined with bromelain and papayin natural enzymes that help break down the proteins etc that render a mock chuck tender that has more flavor into something more edible than an actual filet mignon. However, I cannot condone in anyway a human with a brain buying anymore foods than possible from more than 100 – 200 miles from there home, and grass fed cattle as they are ruminants and not meant to eat corn(NEITHERARESALMONPEOPLE)… For the price you pay for this stuff you can EASILY afford loccal beef, pork and veal from local farmers that have given their animals space to roam, love, a variety of grasses to eat and no antibiotics or hormones. In turn supporting the local economy and helping to reduce your part of the«carbon finger print» of shipping etc for feed lot– confined long haul shipped meats etc. So do I like this stuff? well, I won’t be an ass and offend you if you serve it to me if I stop by and your offer it.

Ok, so I’m absolutely boggled why people are so in love with this place. It is a complete and total rip off. If you can’t find better local steak you must live in India. Neat fact — they actually have a stand in the airport in Omaha. I’ve tried several offerings from this place with gift certificates given to me from friends, and I just don’t get it. The meat is frozen, for starters, and yes, it’s vacuum packed, but even with careful defrosting you’re not getting the same taste as fresh steak. I will give you the meat is tender, but seriously — six four ounce fillets are $ 84 plus shipping, so figure $ 100. That’s over $ 65 a pound! You can get good Kobe for that!(Note — not great Kobe, but good Kobe). Plus the taste just isn’t there to warrant this price. I guess I’m spoiled buying from Burt’s Farms up in Gilbertsville, but his meat is delicious, you actually taste depth and flavor. Heck I can tell whether the cattle are grain fed or grass fed when I buy his fresh meat as you can literally taste the undertones in the meat itself. Not so here. I mean, yes, it’s good, but not $ 65 a pound good. I’ll spend $ 28 a pound and get some prime aged ribeye at Wegmans any day versus fillets from here. Oh, I do notice their dog treats are $ 5.99. For 3 oz. Hmm — that’s OVER $ 30 A POUND. Save your money and just buy your dog prime aged ribeye at Wegman’s. It’s cheaper and tastes better!
