I have to say that I have had both good and bad experiences at Mike and Kate’s. The staff members I have dealt with have been very good. They really take their time to find you exactly what you need and are respectful of your price range. Their prices are hit and miss however but this is common in a small business. They have a smaller selection but there are deals to be had if you frequent them often enough. I would have given them five stars up until my last visit where I paid for one thing but they switched it out for something of lesser value. I thought the mistake was my own as they told me it was until I found a picture I took proving I was correct. As a repeat customer it was not behavior i was expecting. I don’t believe that it was the sales person I dealt with that made the switch but someone was dishonest. I also sent a friend of mine over to them to trade in his firearm and they lowballed him by over $ 100 from what another local dealer offered him. I still recommend them however for purchasing as long as you know exactly what your buying and have every detail written down and photographed if you use lay away. Its important to support our local small businesses but for trade in I would recommend a larger shop.

not pleased with my gun buying experience. the price was decent and i purchased the extended warranty on the gun (taurus 9 mm). the first time i shot the gun the magazine fell out almost at every shot. i took it back and they claimed it was just the magazine and gave me a new one. same problem. i gave them to gun to «fix» which they claimed they did, but still same problem. eventually i gave up and sold the gun to someone who didn’t mind the hassle of a magazine falling out as much. avoid this place.
