If my dog could write Unilocal reviews, he’d give this place 5 stars, but I think he’d give any place with ample pooping space 5 stars, so that doesn’t tell you much. Mifflin Park is ok. It’s not a lush, beautiful park by any means. The folks that spend time every morning picking up the previous days’ trash(seriously, people… there are trash cans all over the park. Walk a couple of feet and use them) do a great job, but by 2PM the place is literally littered with… well, litter. And if the weather is nice on a weekend? Forget about it. I’ve picked up & thrown away countless beer bottles that people just left laying around… and a lot of times they’re not in one piece. Aside from that, I’ve watched other people not pick up after their dogs, and one guy likes to let his Pit Bull run around the park without a leash. It’s a friendly enough dog, but if you’re not familiar with him it’s a bit unnerving to see a pit bull come darting at you without restraint. Overall, the park has potential. Some people in the neighborhood are working really hard to keep it presentable, but there are far more people working against that goal. It’s not a bad spot to walk your dog, but I couldn’t see spending long hours here with a book or anything.

I have lived across the street from this park my whole life. It has gotten so much better than it was a few years ago. It is much cleaner thanks to a fellow whose job it is to clean it daily and also to the Friends of Mifflin Square Park who are working to make this playground a great place for children and families of the neighborhood. It is located in a very diverse area. You will find all races and ethnicities sharing this park. During the summer there is underage drinking that goes on and it does get trashy on weekend nights. It is a well used park.
