I’m not usually one to post, but Ted definitely deserves a rave review. Ive gotten massages my whole life and today Ted topped them all. I have a 5 month old and after too much carrying, I went in for a much needed deep tissue for lower back pain. Ted really knows what he’s doing. I left feeling amazing. When I asked him his hours. he said he works weekends at Bella Vista and weekdays at the Passyunk location. Give him a try and you’ll see what I mean. I just hope I’ll be able to get in with him on my next visit because I expect he’ll be booking out with skillZ like that. Regardless. I wanted to give him the recognition he deserves. Thanks Ted!

The«Massage Philly» expansion has made me pretty happy. These guys don’t have a huge array of services, but exceed expectations for what they do have. I’ve been a member for some years now, and have no intention of leaving. It’s also awesome to see them give back to the community through various forms of charity. A really excellent business.

This is the best location of the best massage chain in the city. Don’t waste your time and money trying other places. I live a block from their Rittenhouse spa but come to Bella Vista because it’s just so much better.

This is actually my first ever Unilocal review, so go easy. I frequented Massage Bella Visa for about a year before I moved to a different city and I wish I could find something similar here. Generally, MBV can be described as «no frills,» but I don’t think that’s wholly accurate. Here, «no frills» means that this place is geared toward one thing and one thing only: massage. There are no showers, no worthless«relaxation rooms,» no extraneous staff, no overdone décor, and no selling of products. Instead this place does one thing and it does it oh so well. And in doing so, the prices are pretty darn affordable. Every facet of the business is really quite fantastic. The management works with the clients in such a way that I never felt that anyone was out to screw me if I were late. In fact I was extremely late once and no one seemed to have minded. I even had to cancel my membership because of the move, and I was given no issues even though it was not technically the right time to cancel. It just felt so human. The folks at the front desk are always very pleasant — allowing you to choose your favorite scent and music(think Beatles, Funk, Soul, Classical, Jazz, etc.). I guess you could do nature sounds too if that’s your thing. Booking is done online so you’re all set before you even arrive, and you can choose what time, day, and massage therapist works for you. It’s pretty seemless. But of course the most important people are the massage therapists and all of them are quite good. They seem to have somewhat differing styles. I came back again and again to Laura, whom I would highly recommend. She’s extremely skilled, easy going, understands and adapts to your needs and just really genuinely put a lot of effort into her good work. But I am sure everyone there is quite good. I wholeheartedly recommend Massage Bella Vista — especially for those who may have side eyed massage places before.

I am so sad I can’t get regular massages here anymore. I had a membership for a year before I moved away and this is the best and most consistent massage place I’ve ever been to. Love the heated beds in the winter and the music/oil selection. Every massage therapist I had was great — favorites were Anna and Kate F.

I scheduled a massage here one time. The staff was very friendly, I didn’t have to wait and the facility is very clean. The massage therapist was great(Jess). She was thorough asking about injuries and what type of massage I wanted. I asked for deep tissue, my only complaint is that it wasn’t enough pressure. But I would definitely recommend.

One of the best massages of my life. I think my massage therapist’s name was Laura and she was great. The space is very quiet, clean, comfortable. You can select your essential oil and music preference. They have a lot of great ad-ons, like a head massage.

there were two reasons i regretted moving from philly… this place was one of them. i had been a member of massage bella vista for about 2 years and have gotten 1 – 2 massages there per month(my back is jacked up and requires this kind of attention.) I’ve gotten massages from several masseuses since i started, and all have been fantastic. everyone had a different style and personality, but all made me feel completely comfortable. the last person i had been seeing, steve c., was phenomenal! if you like deep tissue to truly be «deep,» go to him for sure. he asks for feedback on the degree of pressure he’s applying because he truly wants you to get the most from what he’s trying to accomplish. since starting with him a few months ago, I’ve made so many gains! so, if you don’t require the«spa atmosphere» but want a seriously great therapeutic massage, look no further than here(or the other«massage» locations in the city — fairmount, Rittenhouse, etc.) the prices are completely reasonable, and the staff is wonderful!

I’m an avid cyclist, and I came here after a pretty rough day on the bike. Steve(my therapist) did an amazing job pinpointing and re-invigorating all the sore/tight muscles in my back, shoulders, and neck. Felt like a new person again, and I really appreciated all the helpful stretching tips. Highly recommended — very lowkey, but professional group. Would definitely go again.

This place has democratized the massage business, bringing affordable well-being to south philly. I have had massages from both Steve and Greg and both were great and really understood where my muscle tension is and how to get out my knots! They also always give me exercises to do at the end of my session to help with neck pain, which is always appreciated. I love that I get to pick out my pandora station and body scented oil. And the member price of $ 64 a month can’t be beat in philly!

This place is the most professional, down-to-earth,(though slightly pricey) massage studio I’ve ever been. The member program is well worth it and it’s easy to get an appt on short notice. Kairiya(sp?) is THE bomb massage therapist! I literally cannot see anyone else now. She’s that good. I had one really bad/awkward experience with one of their new therapists and they immediately apologized and remedied the situation(speak up if this happens to u!). Keep up the great work. Highly recommend.

I moved from NJ almost a year ago and this location is near my apartment. I joined the membership program after my second visit and I don’t regret it! The monthly massage rolls over each month if I don’t use it. The staff is really nice, no issues with making appointments. The massage therapists are great!

As a chiropractor it’s hard to find a massage therapist who truly knows the body and muscle groups as well as I do… Maggie definitely knows them and how to treat them… I have been feeling great since starting here… She knows right where to hit and stretch when needed… A+

I’m a big fan of their membership program — the massages are still very affordable, and it reminds me to get a monthly massage! I’ve been getting the prenatal massages for the past few months, and they are excellent. I’ve seen at least 4 of the providers there, and have never had a bad experience.

Great prices. No nonsense. Welcoming. To the point. Front desk girl is sweet and gets you in-and-out. No rush, no fuss. I was immediately sucked into the relaxed vibe. Nicole was amazing. I came in with a painful injury and Nicole was immediately focused on the problem. VERY strong hands. I’m adding this place to my list. They reminded me of why deep tissue massages are so important for anyone who is active; let alone injured. Oh…whoever picks the music there has great taste!

An update now that they’ve moved to the membership model and I’ve been happily using mine for ~6 months. Still totally awesome. I think the membership is completely worth it – you have a monthly massage auto-deducted and just schedule, and boom, you’re good. The therapists are all amazing, but I tend to book Dayna or Beth. Beth is funny and awesome and has an amazing technique. Dayna is great; she shines for her attention to injuries/what’s going on/openness about chatting about things. I have some nerve issues and Dayna was the one who sent me an article to look into to find out what was going on. The studio really shines on the end to end experience. The desk person(whose name escapes me) is really nice and booking is always easy and painless. You’ll choose your music/oil scent, and your therapist will take you back to their cozy rooms that are clean and pretty sound-proof(if you’ve ever had a massage at a studio in a gym … you feel me). After you come out, your therapist generally has water and a truffle for you, a nice touch that I like that they keep around. A final note on membership — they now let you share your membership with your partner, and I know a couple in the neighborhood who loves that. Personally … I continue to get them for myself and I’ll gift one to my husband on occasion ;)

I’ve had two massages here, the first with Jess and the second with Doreen — both excellent. The staff is super friendly, the space is extremely clean and organized, and the waiting area is simple and bright. Lots of added extras like online booking, a variety of oils to choose from(including seasonal specials), and your choice of music from Spa sounds to The Cure, Radiohead, The Beatles, Female Singer/Songwriter and much more. After your massage they greet you with a cute tray with water, a truffle and towelette. Their monthly membership gets you discounted massage rates and free add-ons too. Can’t think of anything bad to say. Super pleased, and relaxed!

Excellent services at reasonable prices. The space is cozy, but works really well. I’ve had deep tissue, regular, and a sports massage there(my fiancée is a member and treats me well :)) and each was great. The staff are really, really nice people who are excellent at their jobs. Highly recommend. (Plus, Radiohead option for your music? nice.)

This was hands-down the best massage I have gotten in Philadelphia, and probably one of the best ones overall. The massage was excellent. I splurged for 90 minutes as a birthday present, and it was exactly what I needed. Hours later, I still feel nice and calm, yet the massage was truly invigorating and helped work out some serious injuries and pain. It was an excellent massage, and the price was more than reaonsable considering the quality and length of the massage. The receptionist and Trilisa were friendly and helpful. I truly enjoyed getting to pick my own scent and music. There is nothing like getting rubbed down to blues music. I cannot wait to go back.
