I ordered delivery and I got some sushi and general tsos chicken. It wasnt up to par as far as general tsos chicken goes and the sushi was good. I was satisfied with the food but it wasnt super amazing. Would i order from here again? Yeah, sure. The delivery time was fast and the food did not disappoint. Just an okay place if you want some Chinese take out.

Cheap Chinese food doesn’t get better than this! We order this every week on our«cheat week!» It’s DELICIOUS! Here’s our go-to’s: General Tso’s Chicken: SOOOOO good! And you get plenty of it! Chicken Fried Rice: Yummy! Miso Soup: Again, a healthy portion Scallion Pancakes: Don’t even get me started! They deliver super fast, GrubHub always tells up around an hour but realistically it’s always under 20 minutes! So far, they haven’t messed up a single order(fingers crossed) Highly recommend for anyone craving some unhealthy amazing Chinese food! YUM!

They let us in 30 minutes from closing which we were grateful for. Kung Pao chicken was good, but the Szechuan Salmon with Tomato Sauce is a MUST. Salmon Avocado Sushi roll was pretty inexpensive and super filling! Price range is reasonable, I ordered two dishes for just $ 20. Would I go again? Yes but not at night.

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered a chicken dish and the quality of the chicken meat was disgusting and very bad. Got so frustrated that I want to write a review about them in google and Unilocal

Just enjoyed a great delivery meal. Took about an hour to get to the house, which is a little longer than normal but was worth the wait. Ordered the spring rolls and they were very tasty, not too crunchy and not too soft. Perfect balance. Main meal was the general tso combo with fried rice. Delicious. Great flavor, subtle spice(ordered medium) and tender white meat. Friend ordered the sesame chicken and raved about hers as well. Best Chinese food I’ve had in the city so far. Eat it!

Very solid place. Been here a few times, and most things are pretty good. When it’s a Tuesday or Wednesday and you don’t feel like spending $ 20+ at Jane G’s or Dan Dan, Mandarin Palace is a pretty good balance between cheap, crappy Chinese places, and the higher end places in the area that are generally overpriced for basic things like General Tso’s. Everything tastes fresh and doesn’t make me feel sick. The General Tso’s chicken and large hot and sour soup for under $ 18 is a pretty good deal for the area. It’s actually one of the better General Tso’s I’ve had. The hot and sour soup is pretty mild. Just a warning, they put mushrooms in the hot and sour soup for some reason(I don’t like mushrooms). The food is ready in around 10 – 15 for pickup. The tangerine beef and sesame chicken are also both pretty good. The only thing I had there that I didn’t like was the roast pork noodle soup. I was craving noodle soup and didn’t feel like walking to Chinatown. It was pretty mediocre compared to the numerous excellent places in Chinatown. I haven’t tried their Thai or Malaysian cuisine, but I imagine it’s pretty good too. The bottom line is that this is a good takeout place for quick, fresh, moderately priced, solid Chinese.

This place was great. I came into philly for the marathon. I couldn’t decide between Thai, Chinese and sushi and they offer it all The staff here is the best I’ve come across the waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful The sashimi came out quickly and was fresh The scallion pancakes were crispy The pad Thai was one of the best I had and so plentiful I had to take more than half home I really need to highlight my server. He was a delight

Cannot say enough GREAT things about Mandarin Palace. The food is always on point. I’ve had delivery, take out, and dine in — it doesn’t matter, its always on point. They even provide individual folded napkins with plastic silverware in the takeout bag. The take out bags are neat and orderly. Dine is the service is fast and attentive. They even inquire about food allergies. This is a huge plus, especially in a South Asian style restaurant since a lot of Peanuts and Cashews are floating around. Can not wait to go back!

Delivery was on time and food was still hot! I like my usual steam chicken with broccoli, but this I also tried their Buddhist Delight(vegetarian, and good) and Scallion Pancake(a little too hard and lacking scallions). Overall, I would come back.

We stopped by for lunch, in a large group, and restaurant had no problems accommodating us. Menu is a mix of Chinese, Malaysian and Thai dishes, and of course the sushi. Number of people at the table had Shrimp Pai Thai, and were very happy with their selection. I had a Thai Curry Shrimp, and it was flavorful and delicious. Excellent prices for the downtown Philly. Definitely recommended.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better» fits my review better than«A-OK,» so that’s why I’m going with a 2. I’ve only been here twice. The first time I had a delicious Chinese meal. The reason for coming here was due to me purchasing a groupon for $ 40 dollars worth of sushi. Little did I know the groupon only went towards the sushi purchases, not the other entrees, so I was unable to use it. The service was okay. I had asked for a glass of ice water and the waitress sent out a glass with warm sink water. I felt like this was a warning sign of things to come. So I decided to come back and order nothing but sushi. My friend and I were the only ones in there for dinner. We decided to go all out and order the«Sushi and Sashimi for 2» for 54.99. It’s described as including: «Ten pieces of sushi, eighteen pieces of sashimi, one tuna roll, one chef’s special roll and one California roll.» Sound great right? The main buying point to us was the«Ten pieces of sushi» and the«eighteen pieces of sashimi.» We ultimately thought we’d be able to pick what 10 and 18 pieces of sushi/sashimi we wanted. Wrong. This felt like false advertising. They brought the platter out, which was neatly organized, the rolls were delicious, as was some of the sushi. But the sashimi was hard to get down, especially when there was eel involved that still had it’s scales/skin on it. I wasn’t completely wowed by my meal here, and was a bit disappointed to find out there was no free refills on the soda beverages. Suffice to say, I don’t think I’d be returning back. The chinese food was good, the sushi was alright, but why come all the way out to Rittenhouse Square for asian food when you can get a better quality deal in chinatown? Word of advice when dining out in Philly for Chinese: stay in Chinatown.

Lunch specials are a bit pricier than your normal Chinese takeout spot, especially considering the portions are also a bit smaller. However, the food is decent, tastes fresh and isn’t overly greasy. They had my order ready quickly, but then when I asked for extra sauce packet, they seemed to be mad and wanted to rush me out even though it wasn’t busy in there at all. I’d give them 3.5 stars, but lost ¼ star for rushing me, and ¼ star for not giving me the most important part of the meal — my fortune cookie.

Despite my last review saying I would return, I had a Groupon for sushi that I had to use. The sushi/service was infinitely better. I would not go here for Chinese but would for sushi. Seems like standard stuff, reasonable price, reasonable taste. –Server prompty brought a bucket of ice and offered to pour our wine –Continuously asked if we were ok and repeated back our orders after we ordered(love when they do this) –Sushi prices were like $ 4 – 7 which is standard for 8 pieces I believe –They were good, tasted decently fresh, but nothing to rave about –The specials didn’t look GREAT/drool worthy –Food came out quickly Total bill for two chicas ordered 2 rolls + soup each was $ 14/person. N2B(not too bad)

Sometimes I have Chinese food craving. Until I found my go to spot in this city I mist keep exploring!!! Today I tried the place right next me. Was very empty. I see more employees than actually customers, I was instantly got nervous. Maybe it’s really bad sign but again, it’s Chinese restaurant so maybe ppl just order delivery. We were seated and server brought us tea which was nice. Order cashew chicken and hub has beef dish and lo main. They were decent. Food was just cooked so was really hot. I would give 4 star if it was little cheaper. I am so spoiled with cheap and yummy Chinese food in NYC so this place felt little pricy for me for what it is.

Not even going to write much as everything I was going to say has already been written by Aria S. below as we dined together with two others! The experience was pretty weird, and our stomachs feel kind of weird today too. Give a shot and see what you think?

Found this gem thanks to Unilocal — had a great time! It’s right next to Crazy Sushi and looks a little ratty from the outside, but the inside is really nice. Not so sure about the blueish lighting, but okay! It is BYOB and features Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I’m not an Asian food expert, but in my opinion, the food was really great and prices were amaze. We were craving Chinese food, but didn’t want to pay a crazy amount for it, so opted for Mandarin Palace. Their menu is stocked with every Chinese dish you can think of, plus a variety of sushi options. The menu also features a lot of vegetarian dishes, including tofu ones. We started with spring rolls, which were average. They mustard sauce was insane — don’t take too much of it. I wasn’t feeling too adventurous and just wanted to be positive I’d love my dish because I was starving so I got the chicken and broccoli. It was probably the best chicken and broccoli I’ve ever had. Really flavorful and I asked for it to be spicy and it was! Kunal L. got the General Tso’s tofu, which was also delicious. The colors on the dish were beautiful, as well — check out the pictures on this review! Our server was nice and attentive, but she wasn’t really able to give us help on the menu. I was trying to ask her questions about different dishes and wasn’t getting clear answers LOL. I also feel like they skimp on the rice a little; it’s definitely not enough for your dish, but the dishes are also huge so idk. Oh well, we still loved the food and will definitely be coming back!

I tried out Mandarin Palace because of a living social deal. It is located in the rittenhouse area and was a pretty good place to go for lunch. They have sushi and chinese dishes as well as lunch specials for both. I had the Wonton soup which is the best I’ve had in this area mainly because the broth was really good. The wontons were also decent as well. For an appetizer, I had the Tuna tartare which was amazing and the sauce for it was great too. For my main roll I had the Alaska roll which was a spicy salmon roll with avocado and salmon on top. This was a good roll, but the presentation of the roll was the best I’ve have ever seen for sushi as well as the tuna appetizer. It’s about average price for sushi and was really great quality.

I ordered the crispy roast duck and fried Taiwanese sausage for delivery. The crispy roast duck was very dry and tasted like orange every other bite. Either the duck was marinated unevenly in orange juice or orange slices were randomly placed on top of the skin. The Taiwanese sausage I ordered ended up being Cantonese lap cheong. I was charged $ 7.95 for a few sliced links of sausage, when buying the whole package from a Chinese supermarket would’ve cost less than $ 5. Maybe in the future I’ll try this place again for Americanized Chinese food. I will definitely stay away from the appetizers and anything with duck.

I think I didn’t order right here, so I’ll have to go back to give it another try. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce. To my surprise, the dish looked like egg drop soup had been spilled all over my shrimp because the sauce was so runny. And I didn’t really taste the lobster flavor, or much of any flavor at all :(My boyfriend liked his dish, though. He got chicken with garlic sauce. I had a bite of his, and I agree that it was tasty. The inside of the restaurant is nice, and the place is BYO. Our waitress and the hostess were also very friendly. Next time I’ll stick to the regular shrimp and veggies dish and I’m sure I’ll have a better experience!
