Lure Salon

When I first moved to Philadelphia, I was looking for a reputable and affordable salon. I could not be more happier that I found my stylist here at Lure Salon. I have frequented this salon every few months for the past 4 years to get my hair cut and styled.
Today I went in to get some highlights (my first time!). Becky is the best! I had no idea where to begin choosing a color that would complement my hair so she walked me through some options based on a picture I showed her. I ended up getting some mocha brown highlights. I was nervous at first when it seemed like the color would not show up on my dark hair, but after she finished with the cut and styling, I absolutely fell in love with her recommendation. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever left disappointed after any visit here! This color newbie will definitely consider getting highlights regularly.
All the stylists are friendly and know how to keep customers comfortable and relaxed during their visit. I highly recommend getting an appointment with Becky or Jenny. You won’t be disappointed!

I absolutely love Lure Salon and am
incredibly pleased to find such a great hair stylist/​colorist so close to my new house. I moved from Lancaster recently and had some very poor experiences at salons which left my hair bleached out. Jamie did a magnificent job fixing my color. She took her time going through sample colors with me and grasping an understanding of what I was imagining in my mind. The color came out «perfect” — she also gave me several tips on repairing the damage from previous color which have been working very well. When I asked her to cut only the layers, she did just that– while my experience in the past has been hair dressers cutting off more than I’d wanted. I will continue going to see Jamie for as long as I live in Philadelphia. The salon has a lovely ambience and is very relaxing. All the employees are extremely friendly. I highly recommend;)

Lure Salon has a friendly atmosphere and all the women working there are so nice! Becky is the one I see to do my hair and she’s awesome. She’s friendly, keeps a convo going, and I can trust her with my hair. She knows exactly how I want it cut and always leaves me with amazing color and style.

Jenny is the best. Her cuts are amazing and she takes her time with you and never rushes you. Amazing stylist.

I followed Becky here from a previous salon. Becky is the shizz when it comes to cutting my hair. She asks questions and listens to my answers before telling me her plan. Cute place-​trendy colors and design. Affordable prices and a talented stylist-​what more can you ask for in Port Richmond?

Loved Lure, the beautiful coconut smell, the receptionist and Jenny from the moment I walked in. It’s as great as everyone says… Jenny is such a sweet person, and she made my naturally uneven eyebrows look better than ever. It didn’t even hurt at all while she threaded them.
I will definitely be back.

Jenny V is amazing. She is a talented miracle worker who can do anything with hair and makeup. I have poker straight fine dark brown hair but wanted an up-​do with a bun to make it look like I had a significant amount of hair, I don’t know how she did it but it came out beautiful. I go to Jenny for cuts/color/up-do’s and now also makeup for special events. I am so glad I found her, she is truly talented and great to talk to.

I have to be honest… I stopped going because I noticed that the color would either wash out or go brassy really quickly. I think the staff is nice and everything but I couldn’t have that.

After sampling EVERY salon in the Port Richmond/​Fishtown/​Kensington area, Lure is definitely now my go-​to. A lot of great neighborhood stylists have left other salons to work at Lure, and as a result Lure has probably the most talented staff in the area.
I go to Becky who has never let me down. She seems to get exactly what I am going for every time and makes it happen. I tend to be picky with my color, but Becky nails it. I have also seen her and the other employees of Lure work miracles on other people as well.
I find their prices to be very reasonable for what you get. What used to cost me $ 150 at another Port Richmond salon is only $ 105 here.
The staff seems very sweet and happy to be here. Definitely a great ambiance and a wonderful salon!

Jenny I Love Thee.
Dip dyed red and brown, leaf like.
Bright, like Autumn sun.
I keep coming to Jenny with hair color challenges and she keeps hitting them out of the park. From platinum, to strawberry blonde, to Nicole Richie honey colored highlights, to bright as hell red, to my current dip dyed red and brown locks. So good. So, so, so good. I also have to mention that the shampoo bowls are super comfortable and you don’t get that weird neck strain cramp when you’re getting washed. Thanks Lure!

After recently moving to the neighborhood I called to make an appointment for a haircut and they were pretty flexible with the times. After having them be so accommodating with the appointment choices I didn’t expect that when I showed up I would have to wait for my appointment. Finally I thought that it was my «turn» because they called me over to get my hair washed, but immediately after my hair was washed and wrapped in a towel (kind of) they asked me to sit back down in the waiting area. I’ve never had that happen before and it felt really strange. I’d rather wait longer and go straight from the sink to the chair than the sink to the waiting area to the chair. Anyway, the other thing I didn’t like was the girl who washed my hair did so VERY quickly. She barely massaged my scalp, which is disappointing for two reasons: I felt like my hair wasn’t clean, and isn’t one of the perks of paying to get your hair done having a little scalp therapy?! Moving on, when I finally made it to the chair Jenny was my stylist. Her haircut was totally predictable, which was what I was going for. But the one thing I really liked was that she styled my hair curly and we talked about Mexican food. She was really the only redeeming factor of this place. I think there are some better salons in the area you can go if you’re looking for a simple cut/​style that won’t make you wait for your appointment or sit in the waiting area with a wet head.

Great local salon just off a main street in Port Richmond. I followed my stylist Jen here from her last place and I couldn’t be happier. Lure has a really warm vibe and is not at all stuck up about what they do.
My hair cut was great and didn’t break the bank. I found out they do waxing and eyebrow threading, but I can’t speak to those services yet. I’ll be going back for sure!
