Was not pleased. Food was average. It took 25 – 30 minutes just to get a chicken salad wrap and tuna salad sandwich. There was a large group that was extremely noisy and inconsiderate. The waitress did not check on us once to see how our food was or if we needed drink refills. They also did not have wheat bread and waited 25 minutes until the food was being served to tell us that. Will not be going back again.

Reliable local place to get a beer and a sandwich or salad. The staff is friendly and the service is adequate to good. It’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you are with a group of friends looking for something simple and not too pricy.

I think it’s not the worst restaurant, I just think the location has been filled with subpar restaurants in the past, it has a bad rep. The food was so-so, the service was so-so, but we did get to sit outside so that was nice!

This place is really good! The menu is a little extensive so be prepared! The prices are really good and the pizzas are amazing! Most of the servers are nice and friendly but in the end it’s all good :-)

I want to think the changes were for the better especially since it’s in my neighborhood, but no. You know it’s bad when even the bar staff is talking shit about management. I used to love there pizzas but recently it was horrible. How do you mess up pizza. So over this place.

Service, management, food-subpar. It’s a bizarre experience, as a matter of fact. You’re in a restaurant but it doesn’t feel right. Servers ignore you, they aren’t knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is strange, too. There’s no cohesiveness, no rhyme or reason to it. Is it a deli? A bar? A pizza place? Some bizarre hybrid? I don’t know. The owner seems clueless and indecisive. Try another place.

I really wanted to like Lox Stock & Barrel for so many reasons, and really didn’t want to have to write this update. Time and time again, Lox Stock & Barrel has had service issues and last night was no exception. My husband and I were looking for a low-key dinner around 9ish last evening. Knowing Lox Stock & Barrel had a Taco Tuesday special, we decided to swing by. In addition to each ordering the special, we each went with a cup of matzoh ball soup. About 30 minutes went by and there was no sign of our food, not even the soup! There were a few other occupied tables however the restaurant was pretty empty. We asked about our soup and apparently they thought we wanted it at the same time as our tacos. Fine, honest mistake. Time ticked on and we finally got our soup. We did speak to management regarding the timing and the manager(who was also the chef) was very apologetic, offering us a round of drinks. That was a very nice offer, but it really shouldn’t take 45 minutes to get a cup of soup from a place that calls itself a deli. So finally the tacos came out. I’ve had them before, but last night they lacked a quality of freshness and seemed over cooked. And then I found a hair on one of my tacos. My hair was tied back so it clearly wasn’t mine. That was it for me. I obviously didn’t want the tacos in front of me, nor did I want to wait another hour for a fresh order. I shared my findings with the server and they ended up taking care of our entire check. That was a nice gesture but it was 10ish and I went home hungry. I had high hopes for Lox Stock & Barrel. Aside from tonight’s tacos, the food has always been pretty good and consistant. The actual space is excellent and the outdoor deck is really cool. I wish they could get their act together because there is so much potential for a great restaurant.

I love this place! It’s a place to relax, have some fun and enjoy drinks and delicious food. I recently invited a bunch of people(we were like 20) and everyone was super happy with the service and the food. The truffle pizza was amazing! The ribs were really good too. It feels as if the new owners were always making sure that the clients were well served and happy… I actually love the fact that is not always packed with people… totally worth it, we will continue to visit this place

Stopped by this place with some family the day after Thanksgiving around 2pm. The place was mostly empty, but seemed nice. Wait-staff was quick to ask about drink and food orders and very friendly. However, it took about 45 minutes to get our food(two platter consisted of bagels and cream cheese). Once the food arrive(and despite one dish being wrong) the food was pretty good. Unfortunately, good food can’t make me overlook a 45 minute wait on food. The manager was nice enough to remove the incorrect item and deduct 10% of our bill for the trouble, but it was still not a great experience.

Pastrami on rye sandwiches are simply the best I’ve ever had. The amount of meat the guys carve for one sandwich means I have to share one… no way could I eat a whole one. And the flavor of the meat is just wonderful. A truly satisfying eating experience.

I’m surprised by the negative reviews. I’ve been here for brunch about 4 times and I’ve always had a good experience. Very generous portions at reasonable prices with friendly service. I’ve never been here at night for dinner or drinks but I think it’s a great brunch/lunch option. If $ 3 mimosas and Bloody Mary’s until 3 pm are wrong I don’t want to be right. The hummus platter is huge, as is the lox bagel platter.

The service is absolutely horrendous! So much potential at this restaurant, someone just needs to know how to run it. Note to owner: 65 degree weather, NFL Ticket, outdoor patio bar, thousands of potential customers from Marathon = money for the next few months. I wonder how much money you actually lost on 11⁄17? Pizza was decent though. Just wish it didn’t take an hour to come out. I won’t be back.

Honestly, I keep waiting to be disappointed by this place, but it just won’t happen! I used to live in the building this is attached to and the restaurant has changed a million times; however, I think this one may be a winner. The matzo ball soup is really good with fresh ingredients.

They have great matzo ball soup. Too bad it costs $ 36 a pint! Yes, you read this right. I went in the other day and ordered a quart to-go. Even though there were only 4 other parties in the restaurant, it took 17 minutes for them to bring it out to me in which time my meter ran out and I got a ticket. Is it really their fault? Yes. I put 10 minutes in and it should take no longer to get a quart of soup to go. I had even paid for it before it came out so it wouldn’t take extra time. When my order came out I was presented with a pint instead of a quart. The server said, «Well, it isn’t quite a quart but it is bigger than a bowl.» Dude, a pint is half of a quart. I ordered a quart of soup. You could have brought me two figgen pints to equal a quart. When I asked about getting another one you said it would take three or four minutes. I bolted for fear of getting a parking ticket, since their version of four minutes was sure to be ten. Oh well, too late, ticket already there. Your services sucks. Your food is pretty good for diner food. I think this place will not last long as it always seems nearly empty.

1st time coming to this place. I came because I heard that the place changed owners about ½−1 year ago and I was told that there is huge emphasis on the quality of food. I loved the experience. Very spacious and has a really nice place to sit outside and enjoy the good weather(if it is good.). People are very friendly and there is generally a very positive atmosphere. Different and mixed customers– which is nice. Mid aged groups coming for dinner and drinks. Regulars on the bar. Lots of young people, singles and couples. Not too loud and crowded. Good selections of drinks and reasonable prices. Good music. I ordered the«Our famous truffle pizza» as they call it and it was DELICIOUS. Big size pizza, but a very flat and not-heavy Pizza, like an italian pizza should be. Excellent combination of yellow and ricotta cheese, a lot of greens of top, and high quality truffle oil. The problem with truffle oil is that often cooks use it excessively and the taste is too dominant. Not here! You can definitely feel the taste, but just enough to not overcome and dominate the flavor of the other good ingredients. The combo of the dough, vegs, cheeses(mainly the ricotta) and the truffle is excellent. I washed it down with a Rouge IPA, which I love. Great experience, I will come back!

I think it’s nice to review places that don’t have 9 million write-ups already(I’m looking at you, Reading Terminal — greedy bastard), so here’s my super-scientific analysis of Lox, Stock and Barrel. I’ve been wanting to come here for a while basically because they have a Grilled Cheese Corner on their menu. I finally made an appearance the other night, and first of all, it was deserted. Like, crickets almost. But fine, it was a Tuesday and I don’t know, people are lame sometimes. Anyway, we sat at the bar and had great service from Tony — he was incredibly friendly, chatty, attentive, charming. I have to say, there were maybe four other tables inside with people, and a full patio outside, and I only noticed one waitress, so you might have to be prepared for a, um, leisurely meal if you’re not sitting at the bar. Food-wise, I had a veggie burger and my man had a pepperoni pizza. I’d say that we’re both connoisseurs of what we ordered(I’ve had approximately 479 veggie burgers in my life, and I’m pretty sure he’s up there with his pizza numbers), and both of us were really happy. I love the fact that when it comes to the burgers, you can pick a beef patty, turkey burger or veggie burger and then build your own, as opposed to some places where the veggie burger is clearly an afterthought on the menu and you kind of feel like the last kid picked for dogdeball when you order it. I didn’t taste the pizza but the dude loved it. All in all, very reasonably priced, solid bar food. The menu is the size of the New York Times, so if you can’t find something you want, you probably should just stay away from restaurants in general. They’re definitely going through some growing pains, but nothing that would prevent me from coming back again.

I really want to like this place. It’s so close by. It has an awesome patio with twinkly lights and trees. Their food and specials are awesome and relatively cheap. So what’s missing? So glad you asked. The service is HORRENDOUS. There are never more than ten people in this place but somehow it takes ten years to get anything, even just drinks. The last time I came here for half priced pizza mondays(where you can get a 14in pizza for $ 6 — insane) we sat outside on the patio and I was worried service would be even slower than usual, and it was. We ordered a pitcher of pale ale and it took literally 20 min to come out. When the server brought it to our table, she said«sorrry it took so long, the bartender was busy talking to people». Ummm… she could have at least made up a good excuse and said they were changing the keg. Then when it came time for the check, suddenly she was checking on us every five minutes. The pizza took even longer but was still delicious, as always. I just wish the service was a little more friendly and a lot more speedy.

Where do i begin? Took 55 mins to get our bagel and cream cheese. I think you could bake a fresh bagel in that time frame. We overheard the waiter talking trash about a particular table of patrons. The bartender was wearing SWEATPANTS. Luckily, this establishment will be out of business in a month. Terrible. Hold up, im not done. There was food on the floor below our table. It was approximately a salad’s worth of lettuce and tomatos. I pointed it out to the waiter… who then responded…“uhhh so how do you want to handle this?”. Well…uuuhhh…grab a broom and clean it up you moron. EDIT(10/12/2013): The owner left a message below, indicating that he contacted me, which is a lie. He never made contact with me, even after i directly contacted him. I’m disgusted by this restaurant and its ownership.

The spot once known as Philly Pub And Grub is under new ownership and has been renamed Lox Stock & Barrel. The menu has been stepped up with more options. After having happy hour here, I honestly think the shakeup is a step in the right direction. And they still have the same great outdoor space for when the weather is right.
