A ritzy North Philadelphia. :-) Aka Northern Liberties. A really pretty reconstruction of the block filled with trendy stores in a different and really creative style. Remove the street & turn the small street into a walk. Wonder what kind of license to get to do this in Philly. I loved it in the summer. So will you. Nearby, all these things are going on: Lots of new restaurants and stuff like that and giant movie courtyard fenced in by the apartment complex, and artsy fartsy hippie — yuppie area and cafes here and there fancified this development. There is that imitation of the leaning tower Piazza in Italy and I think a swimming pool that looks real cool fenced in and hidden somewhere close by. Yah, I love this place. New Gem spot. I’m moving in. Who’s giving the cheap bargain rent?! Haha.

Short of the welcome mats, I don’t think there is a square foot of Liberties Walk that hasn’t been blessed with dog crap. Watch your step and choose your shoes carefully if that sort of thing bothers you… and I don’t see how it can’t.

Cute shops, restaurants, a hair salon and outdoor events in the spring & summer. I fun place for sure! Parking can be a trick though — so I take a bus and walk a few blocks.

All of the individual stores are listed on here. But Liberties Walk is worthy of a stand alone review by itself if you ask me. after all it’s a shopping center that goes beyond your usual shopping center mentality. it also holds true to the all around Northern Liberties Tradition. All of the stores and restaurants that it houses are one of a kind too, and that’s very rare to say about a shopping center. and damn are the stores awesome. Delicious Boutique provides you with cool looking corsets and alternative fashion. Think Music is your primary spot for getting music and renting movies at the same time. 1 Shot gives you your caffeine fix. Chez Bow Wow makes your puppy happy. DNA Salon makes you happy thanks to your new hair cut. Art Star hooks you up with some cool arts and crafts and then some. and then you can go to Bar Ferdinand or Deuce for a good bite to eat and some great drinks. Liberties Walk also has some great events. Deuce has a great Open Mic night every Sunday Night. Think has a fun movie screening that is worth checking out(they’re showing episodes of The Young Ones on Saturday night!!!). and Art Star has the occasional artist viewing. so over all it has something for everybody and you can’t go wrong.
